Resident Evil started great & is still great. Not sure why people cry PS: If Resident Evil had stuck to the same EXACT way that it was, people would today criticize and say "It's the same shit over and over again"

I liked all Resident Evil games, and i do not understand why people argue se much about which is the best. Everyone has their own opinion so people should respect that. Ofcourse people who played RE1 they grew up with that and that is their favorite,but that does not mean that you should hate other RE games that are not the same as the RE games before,and for all those Who love the first RE games RE 1 has been remastered. So What i just wanted to say is to respect other peoples opinions!

they should've made an outbreak file 3, I really liked the outbreak series, the fact that you can do different scenarios and explore raccoon city was badass
well my reason i didnt like it. was because it was more a action game than a horror game. there were a lot of stuff that was missing from the core. like ready documents and seaching the rooms for important stuff. for me Re6 was just run and gun.. sadly

I honestly didn't think Resident Evil 5 was that bad. It continued on with what resident evil 4 did, except took a risk and made it more or less like an action movie. Resident evil 6 was okay. Just okay. The only campaign that I actually enjoyed was Leon's.
Survival Horror is more than the atmosphere, but actually being afraid to DIE. Running/Limping around with your health on Danger while KNOWING there's a Hunter in the next room just aching to take your head off - That's survival horror. Resident Evil these days don't have that. Ink Ribbons, Health, Ammo, Puzzles - all of these things play into the overall experience that RE4 - present just don't have.
1,2 and 3 were 2spooky for me as a kid. Don't lie, surely those who played them as kids remember VERY WELL how the experience was. Then 4 came along... pfffft no more spookies.

RE1 probably had the best fear factor, i mean it played on about the worst fears anyone could have, giant snake, giant spiders, giant bees, a giant plant? anyone afraid of plants? lol funny thing is, the end boss, Tyrant was probably the least scary enemy in the game :P. RE2 followed suit pretty well, I mean I really disliked doing the second half of the game because Mr X would pop up at the worst times lol and I loved RE3 because it introduced mercenary mode, RE2 sorta had it but you could only play as Hunk or Tofu, and the actual mercenary mode for RE2 didnt come to play until they Remade RE2 which was after RE3 anyway
for me RE3:Nemesis still the best.. i don't know why.. now RE its not only zombie, they put like some kind of monster or anything.. its not fun anymore..
I know what you mean, Resident Evil 2 is my most favorite, I miss the survival horror elements that made the first three games (including the remake and code veronica) excellent, the atmosphere, the music, the zombies and creatures I love RE:4 but because of that game is why all the rest became that way. Capcom just keeps trying to cash in on the 3rd person shooter action than the horror elements...I was so disappointed with 6 because i thought they where gonna go back to the horror elements and the fixed camera angles of the first three than action hero style...I don't like what Resident Evil has become now
It really isn't hard to make a modern survival horror game again. You can't use the old tank controls because they're so dated and hard to use but the first Dead Space was an awesome example of how to do it. It's all about limited resources, situations that force you to fight or run, limited maneuverability (I.e. You couldn't turn super fast or do an about face or evade in DS) and music and ambience.
Dead Space didnt have limited resources, like.. at all. i can go through the entire game with just one gun and i'll always have plenty of ammo even on Impossible mode.
Branden Lucero some players aren't very conservative though. If they're appealing to a general audience then it's good cuz they'll need all that ammo cuz they most likely aren't the best shots lol. But yes I agree..for players like you and I it isn't hard to pick shots and save it all up lol.
DarianMustDie it isnt. i've seen a youtuber on here, who had enough ammo in Silent Hill 2, to play the game twice, while still achieving the 10-Star ending. that's how much ammo there truly is in that game. survival horror games are hardly "survival" at all once the 21st century came around. even in Resident Evil (2002) version, there's a glitch to obtain unlimited Grenade Launcher ammo.
Exactly. The game reminded me of the ambience and atmosphere ive got fro watching aliens and playing silent hill 3. Love the way to use untraditional weapons, more like weapons hidden in tool-dress lol. but still fun, ive only used the first weapon thoughout the game and saved the rest for more tough monsters. The game drove me to just upgrade my armor to the fullest same to my main weapon. The i played trough the 2nd DS, it felt shorter and less scarier even it tried to be, felt more of some scare moments like cliché and reused, though the mulitplayer was fun at start but didnt last long and there were awesome moments in space.
i do not understand why people think the old Resident evil games are more scary than Resident evil 4 the 4 part has the scariest villains ever..Verdugo,U3,Dr Salvador,Chainsaw sisters,Garrador,Iron maiden,Regenerators,Bitor Mendez Novistador,Dogs Garden maze,the zombies are fast make a lot of panic not like the old Resident evil zombies you have a lot of time to shoot..I was a kid myself have played the old games but I can not remember many scary moments maybe resident evil 3 with nemesis who was really scary if he always came
But RE4's villains were not really... terrifying. I played RE4 when I was 10. The only thing in the entire game that scared me was the garden area. RE4 wasn't scary. It was cool, but I don't think it's the best RE. In fact, RE4 is why everything else went down hill. Everyone's expectations was just more of RE4 for RE5. Thing is, it wasn't the multiplayer that ruined it. It was the people's expectations and Capcom's budget for that game. That is why everything past 4 some what degraded in terms of what everyone wished for. Also- I don't count parasite victims as "Zombies" just mutants. Zombies don't have the capacity to think, just feel on instinct to devour. The parasite victims could think.

RE4 wasn't really scary. It was most just patterns to enemies. Shooting them in the knee to using an action command. Quick Time events, and yeah. Decapitating people in there with a kick is a bit jarring. I don't get how it is physically possible.
Never played any of the Resident Evils beyond RE Nemesis. RE II was probably my favorite...the game used to scare the crap out of me when I was like 8-9 years old playing by myself in the dark.
Re4 was a great game but it marked the death of the franchise in my eyes. It departed from the play style that I think suited the genre best. It was still a survival horror but the mechanics made it more into a 3rd person shoot em up game. Still a great game though . . . just the first wedge to break the RE franchise.

I am biggest and hardcore fan from Resident Evil and its my favourite games i play since the first one, and i love because was the first game for my ps1 and i beat the game thousands of times like the other ones like resident evil 2 but after resident evil 4, the series died completely. For me the True resident evils are: 0, 1, 1 Remake(best one and best survival horror game ever made at least for me), 2, 3 nemesis, code veronica, revelations(this is one is surprisely good!) and resident evil 4, the rest is just pure garbage. I hate what capcom did with my favourite game. Most of the resident Evils are history confuse no sense after fourth one and the other half is just no sense spin offs. The only good spin off worth playing is revelations the only spin off with real story from main games, raccoon city have good story but is poor constructed game... Dead aim is also kinda good. I favourite genre is survival horror but every company is destroying the last remain survival horror games... Silent hill died, dead space turn action game like RE 5 and 6... Alone in the dark died long time ago... and etc and etc no more survival horror games at all the only good one is Last of us but was the only one coming out in the last years is just awful...

Play RE revelations its scary, well atmospheric. Maybe because I watch horror movies alot but the one thing that scares me is the girl (shudders) oh, also if u say at the beginning, "theres way too much ammo and they wont let me pick it up!" Remember the ammo for the boss fights cause trust me, ur gonna need it

I love Resident Evil one of my favorite surrvial horror video games of all time since 1996 I was in school elementary school for the first time my first school year 1996 - 1997 before Greenbelt Middle those all my years I saw my Uncle play Resident Evil 2 in 1998 classic I played Resident Evil in 2002 Nintendo Gamecube also Resident Evil 6 I loved that game in 2013 on XBOX360 console forget that.
And one more thing! If you want true fan opinion, I think capcom need to reboot the series. Launch a new Resident Evil and start all over again... Like they did with Devil may cry.

Resident evil was started very well, r.e. 1,2,3 were beautifull games. from the 4 it began the shit... only graphics upgrades, but, story, and gameplay were a totally shit!!! Today lots of videogames had the same bad end. personally i prefered when some years ago, we had a bad graphic but good games, than now, that we have a grat graphic and 1 or 2 titles to play. I liked outbreak.. Capcom should make another one, but a good one. i hope :) sorry for the english, im Italian.

The series has changed massively over the years. The latter games from RE4 onwards are basically 3rd person action shooters; while the games before (RE1-3; and Code Veronica) were survival horror. I don't mind Revelations actually, that brings back some of the puzzle elements, but not enough to take it back to the series' roots. I think one of the things that made the early games scary was the fixed predefined and often rubbish camera angles - you heard an enemy lurching towards you but you couldn't see them or work out exactly where from!
I'm sortof upset with myself giving my gamecube to my EX girlfriend. I use to have RE 0, RE remake, RE 2, RE 3, RE veronica x, RE 4. She was going to give it back to me but I said it was ok and that she can keep it because I wanted to be a nice guy during the break-up.. I am saddened and not really surprised by undeserved amount of hatred on new games and lines such as "true RE fan must ignore new games". All I can say about it is : 1) try to like the game not for similalirities to ancestors, but for its own features , and 2) when saying "all true fans" bear in mind that you are not entitled to speak for no one but yourself, and true fan supports the company by supporting the products of the franchise if he so desires, not flames new things just because they are not like old.
I'm always going to be a fan of Resident Evil. I have went to see every movie and own all of the canon games. Even so, I've been disappointed with all of the games that came after RE 4. They could at least give us fans who have supported them from the first game one more old school survival horror RE. Hopefully this will happen before another catastrophe RE 6 finally kills the franchise.

I can agree after five because five was still a decently long and fun game, and me and my brother had lots of fun with it, so it helped us to stop fighting, the puzzles and scares werent too good, and there was one chapters with gun fights, and one 4th of a chapter that gave boat loads of cash, though it was to adopt people in the us to check out the games, Hopefully re7 is like 4 in the dynamics, but with scares and more of a survival horror feel like the older ones.

I kind of agree and kind of don't. I thought Resident Evil 4 was amazing, but also thought the original ones were as well. RE 5 had similar gameplay, but I thought the adventure was inferior. Out of all Resident Evils though, OPERATION RACCOON CITY WAS the worst. Mainly because frame rate issues, graphics, and it did not seem like a resident evil game (compared to RE1-3 AND RE-4-6). But I am a weird fuck and most people will probably either like all the new games or all the old ones. My perspective on things is weird. As for Resident Evil 6, Leons campaign was awesome, but the others did not feel like Resident Evil much.
Hey man you are entitled you your opinion :) But in mine I choose to ignore anything from 4 onwards, I picked up 5 to see what it was all about and stopped playing 5 minutes into the game lol I totally understand a game has to evolve in terms of gameplay and originality but the core elements and ambience of what made the first games epic had to remain but didn't.... Look at dead space! Brilliant game, good mechanics and scary as hell.. why couldn't they have evolved into something like that instead of making it possible to kung fu zombies and have giant robotic statues chasing after you lol It's all about bringing a sense of realism into a fictional world and that's what they have lost and will probably never get back :'(

So true... I played Rebirth and RE4 for Camecube and they were awesome graphicwise. Game cube was a top notch console in terms of graphics and these games exploited every capacities of the system.
I believe the reason why is because the characters were the only actual 3D thing, while the environments were prerendered CGI, and mostly static. Most of the console's power was directed at the character models. They did the same with the first RE games, only the opposite was true. The PS1 games had wonderful backgrounds and average character models.
Its just as the same way liek they did with the orinigals. Characters full 3d and enviroments setup with background pictures, just in the remake higher resolutions and animated backgrounds but still pretty good done, sometimes i forgot theyre just pictures.
Wow I seen the R E HD version first for the ps4, and I was thinking "omg this is the best graphics they could do with this game on the PS4" and then I come here to see how the game looked back when it was current. i have never played RE 5 and 6 but i can tell that i would dont like it that much after playing RE 1, 2, 3, 4, 0, 1 remake, outbreak file 1 and 2 that games are my favorite ones, you know with all the classic stuff i just dont get it why they decided to create RE5 and 6 very different when they saw that the classic shit worked better, i just dont get it! anyways. HAHA my first time playing RE 4 i got scared when the "regenerator" appears in the cellblock not even Fatal frame make me fell so scared.
Capcom thinks they were doing everyone a favor when they turn it into a action shooter. When we all know that's not the reason why we love it in the first place. Now due to recent sales of their games, they realize that they'll have to reboot their franchise & bring back the classic style of game play. With some changes here & there. I just hope improve & avoid any more mistakes.
Resident Evil 5 was a response to how well Call of Duty sold. Naturally Capcom is gonna try and get some of those people to buy their game. That's why Resident Evil 5 looks and plays like an army game, to many fan's disappointment. At least with RE6. It looks and feels more horror themed.
+anotherboy Do you have a ps3? If you do you can play resident evil 1 and 2 for ps1 on it. I've tried and it works, but you still do need money like you said, the 3rd game is like 10 dollars, but the second is 20+ dollars (Sort of based off buying location) ... its a little bit more rare than 3 but I recommend 3 over 2, just a opinion though. As another Die Hard fan of the series, 4, revelations, 5 & 6 were the needed way for resident evil to be portrayed. From an older generation of game playing though I believe the first 3 resident evil games were masterpieces. And for the younger fans now like the remastered remake that's just being released. I think resident evil 2 & 3 should be done in the same way. To show them that this was why we enjoyed the series back then so much.

All of you idiot haters out there must understand that the game had to adapt and evolve its gameplay to fit the next gen consoles. RE was never meant to be a pure horror game but an action one. I grew up with RE 1-3, fantastic games back in the time. If they had made RE6 having the atmosphere of Leon's campaign (which imo is the darkest one) then RE6 would be a really really good game for me, but RE6 was fine overall. RE4 was a freaking masterpiece, but I will agree that RE5 needed more work.
I also agree that Resident Evil 4 was a masterpiece. It just had a great adventure, great unlocks, game ran smooth, great graphics, great but hard shooting gameplay, badass boss fights, etc.. But Resident Evil 4 got kind of weird when enemies starting shooting you. I like the parts where you had to kill those creepy alien things by shooting them in weak spots. That was scary as fuark! Many don't like RE5, but I actually really like the game, but don't think the adventure was as good compared to 4. But I look at these games in multiple ways; How they stand as a video game, as a horror game, and a resident evil game....

Reaction, arcade shooters aren't the best way to go for a series that pioneered survival horror. Meaning less shoot everything and punch boulders till they die, and more ammo conservation and item management. Indeed games can't stay the same, but no one's asking to have the same game as RE1. What people want is a return to true survival horror, not punching zombies left and right with no worry and herbs literally given to you out every crevice in the game. Oh, well. Believe what you will. 😎
Allow me to tell you why exactly people complain. I don't know how long you have been playing Resident Evil but it doesn't seem you understand what people liked from these games, nor does capcom anymore. People want a game that makes you feel scared, helpless and like you could die at any moment. A game that's creepy and foreboding. I don't know anyone out there who hates RE4. They merely hate the legacy that it brought. No, re4 was still a horror game with shooter elements. Re5 and 6 feel like a Michael Bay movie. Gone is the horror element and nightmarish atmosphere. Gone is the slow and memorable music and instead it's been replaced by Hollywood generic orchestra #45. It feels soulless and it's catering to the lowest common denominator. We don't want zombies per say again, we want horror, scares, atmosphere. We want something less polished and more spartan. Have you played RE:Revelations? That was a big step in the right direction and a game that is worthy of the Resident evil name. I don't know if I explained myself well enough but I will let the sales numbers speak for themselves. Resident evil HD remaster has been the fastest selling RE title to date! I think it's pretty obvious that people want that and not generic shootan #23 Sometimes you must go back to your roots to actually evolve. Resident evil 5-6? They're abominations that should have never been made.
Resident evil 5 WAS going to evolve the series. During development it was to be an entirely different game altogether. Slower and more involved while keeping the camera from 4. It was going to even have the sun affect you with hallucinations and thirst. Then people complained about non-existent racism, Sheva was brought in, the game was rushed and the rest is history. But wait... Hallucinations? Scarce ammo? Loneliness? SURVIVAL?! Yes! That was it! It was perfect. That is evolution, they took an established concept and cranked it up to 11. Resident evil is about the horror, the atmosphere, eccentricity and the survival; it doesn't matter how it's done as long as it's done. I hope I managed to explain myself ok. I'm typing from my phone and English isn't my first language.
Re5 wasn't to bad, merc mode was legit way better than re4s merc mode. I would of liked Re5 more though if weaker never died. Omg chrissss breaks his arm ruins his whole plan just to kill Chris, if I was weaker I would of killed them in an instance.
There's been some good games, some amazing and some bad but Resident Evil will always be recognized as one of if not the best zombie survival series out there and will always be one of my personal favorite series of games.

I loved the serie from Resident Evil especially RE 2 and RE 4 where my favorites ones. I bought Operation Racoon City on PC but it is really bad and i not even understand that game at all + the maniability sucks or maybe it is me ?! One big question always has left me without an answer is why Resident Evil could be on PC , and The most popular Consoles? Gee that is the only franchise you had to buy xxx consoles to be able playing the whole series . Kinda annoying Capcom think we are all rich people or what?? Would be so great to have Resident Evil 1 to Resident Evil 6 all on PC , all on PlayStation and whatsoever . But i agree with many that after Resident Evil 4 the franchise is done , no need for a Call of Duty like , and zombies with super powers either it really ruins it. Everybody is like RE 6 sucked, terrible game, shittiest one...etc. but honestly I actually like it. Pretty much the only thing I disliked about it was the skill set system and the item slots. I much prefer RE 4's attache case and being able to upgrade it to bigger sizes

Robin Bergström everything about 6 was just disappointing, especially for the people that have played the sequels in order from 1-6. There was high expectations to have the same effect as number 4 because Leon was coming back, but it failed to impress. Story wasn't impressive, inventory really sucked ass, no pause feature, and it just felt like a chore getting through the campaigns. Never again. Everyone hated on number 5 because of the lack of horror, but i supremely enjoyed it and the replay value was high. Number 5 is looking pretty damn good right now

If you want to get into some Resident Evil games, heres what you need to know: If you want SURVIVAL HORROR, then what you want are RE 1-3 and code veronica. If you want ACTION BASED, then what you want are RE 4 and 5.
0,1, 2, 3 and 4 are the best! Code Veronica and Revelations are good though! And now we get Resident Evil Remake: Remaster for the PS3 and PS4! Hope they remaster Zero aswell soon!
looking at the entire franchise i could see why CAPCOM changed their style from survivor horror to action horror, it seems like the more recent titles cater to battlefield, COD, and modern warfare while the 1 - 13 , 15 literally looked like the same thing :-( and being a fan I'm kind of shock to admit that after seeing this video. I honestly didn't think Resident Evil 5 was that bad. It continued on with what resident evil 4 did, except took a risk and made it more or less like an action movie. Resident evil 6 was okay. Just okay. The only campaign that I actually enjoyed was Leon's.

Survival Horror is more than the atmosphere, but actually being afraid to DIE. Running/Limping around with your health on Danger while KNOWING there's a Hunter in the next room just aching to take your head off - That's survival horror. Resident Evil these days don't have that. Ink Ribbons, Health, Ammo, Puzzles - all of these things play into the overall experience that RE4 - present just don't have.

RE1 probably had the best fear factor, i mean it played on about the worst fears anyone could have, giant snake, giant spiders, giant bees, a giant plant? anyone afraid of plants? lol funny thing is, the end boss, Tyrant was probably the least scary enemy in the game :P. RE2 followed suit pretty well, I mean I really disliked doing the second half of the game because Mr X would pop up at the worst times lol and I loved RE3 because it introduced mercenary mode, RE2 sorta had it but you could only play as Hunk or Tofu, and the actual mercenary mode for RE2 didnt come to play until they Remade RE2 which was after RE3 anyway

It really isn't hard to make a modern survival horror game again. You can't use the old tank controls because they're so dated and hard to use but the first Dead Space was an awesome example of how to do it. It's all about limited resources, situations that force you to fight or run, limited maneuverability (I.e. You couldn't turn super fast or do an about face or evade in DS) and music and ambience.
Dead Space didnt have limited resources, like.. at all. i can go through the entire game with just one gun and i'll always have plenty of ammo even on Impossible mode.

DarianMustDie it isnt. i've seen a youtuber on here, who had enough ammo in Silent Hill 2, to play the game twice, while still achieving the 10-Star ending. that's how much ammo there truly is in that game. survival horror games are hardly "survival" at all once the 21st century came around. even in Resident Evil (2002) version, there's a glitch to obtain unlimited Grenade Launcher ammo.
Exactly. The game reminded me of the ambience and atmosphere ive got fro watching aliens and playing silent hill 3. Love the way to use untraditional weapons, more like weapons hidden in tool-dress lol. but still fun, ive only used the first weapon thoughout the game and saved the rest for more tough monsters. The game drove me to just upgrade my armor to the fullest same to my main weapon. The i played trough the 2nd DS, it felt shorter and less scarier even it tried to be, felt more of some scare moments like cliché and reused, though the mulitplayer was fun at start but didnt last long and there were awesome moments in space.

Re4 was a great game but it marked the death of the franchise in my eyes. It departed from the play style that I think suited the genre best. It was still a survival horror but the mechanics made it more into a 3rd person shoot em up game. Still a great game though . . . just the first wedge to break the RE franchise.

I am biggest and hardcore fan from Resident Evil and its my favourite games i play since the first one, and i love because was the first game for my ps1 and i beat the game thousands of times like the other ones like resident evil 2 but after resident evil 4, the series died completely. For me the True resident evils are: 0, 1, 1 Remake(best one and best survival horror game ever made at least for me), 2, 3 nemesis, code veronica, revelations(this is one is surprisely good!) and resident evil 4, the rest is just pure garbage. I hate what capcom did with my favourite game. Most of the resident Evils are history confuse no sense after fourth one and the other half is just no sense spin offs. The only good spin off worth playing is revelations the only spin off with real story from main games, raccoon city have good story but is poor constructed game... Dead aim is also kinda good. I favourite genre is survival horror but every company is destroying the last remain survival horror games... Silent hill died, dead space turn action game like RE 5 and 6... Alone in the dark died long time ago... and etc and etc no more survival horror games at all the only good one is Last of us but was the only one coming out in the last years is just awful...

5 is okay. I bought 6 but couldn't play through it all.
The series has changed massively over the years. The latter games from RE4 onwards are basically 3rd person action shooters; while the games before (RE1-3; and Code Veronica) were survival horror. I don't mind Revelations actually, that brings back some of the puzzle elements, but not enough to take it back to the series' roots.
I think one of the things that made the early games scary was the fixed predefined and often rubbish camera angles - you heard an enemy lurching towards you but you couldn't see them or work out exactly where from!

I am saddened and not really surprised by undeserved amount of hatred on new games and lines such as "true RE fan must ignore new games". All I can say about it is : 1) try to like the game not for similalirities to ancestors, but for its own features , and 2) when saying "all true fans" bear in mind that you are not entitled to speak for no one but yourself, and true fan supports the company by supporting the products of the franchise if he so desires, not flames new things just because they are not like old.
I'm always going to be a fan of Resident Evil. I have went to see every movie and own all of the canon games. Even so, I've been disappointed with all of the games that came after RE 4. They could at least give us fans who have supported them from the first game one more old school survival horror RE. Hopefully this will happen before another catastrophe RE 6 finally kills the franchise.

I can agree after five because five was still a decently long and fun game, and me and my brother had lots of fun with it, so it helped us to stop fighting, the puzzles and scares werent too good, and there was one chapters with gun fights, and one 4th of a chapter that gave boat loads of cash, though it was to adopt people in the us to check out the games, Hopefully re7 is like 4 in the dynamics, but with scares and more of a survival horror feel like the older ones.

They had to change the formula otherwise people would get sour, they change the formula and people are still sour. RE 1,2& 3 are untouchable IMO absolute classics. The suspense and core of what made RE got lost with further releases.

I thought Resident Evil 4 was amazing, but also thought the original ones were as well. RE 5 had similar gameplay, but I thought the adventure was inferior.
Out of all Resident Evils though, OPERATION RACCOON CITY WAS the worst. Mainly because frame rate issues, graphics, and it did not seem like a resident evil game (compared to RE1-3 AND RE-4-6).
But I am a weird fuck and most people will probably either like all the new games or all the old ones. My perspective on things is weird.
As for Resident Evil 6, Leons campaign was awesome, but the others did not feel like Resident Evil much.
Hey man you are entitled you your opinion :) But in mine I choose to ignore anything from 4 onwards, I picked up 5 to see what it was all about and stopped playing 5 minutes into the game lol I totally understand a game has to evolve in terms of gameplay and originality but the core elements and ambience of what made the first games epic had to remain but didn't....
Look at dead space! Brilliant game, good mechanics and scary as hell.. why couldn't they have evolved into something like that instead of making it possible to kung fu zombies and have giant robotic statues chasing after you lol It's all about bringing a sense of realism into a fictional world and that's what they have lost and will probably never get back :'(

can someone explain to me how the fuck gamecube was able to support the wonderful graphics in resident evil rebirth? It was only 2002 and it looks like It's from 2008 at least
So true... I played Rebirth and RE4 for Camecube and they were awesome graphicwise. Game cube was a top notch console in terms of graphics and these games exploited every capacities of the system.
I believe the reason why is because the characters were the only actual 3D thing, while the environments were prerendered CGI, and mostly static. Most of the console's power was directed at the character models. They did the same with the first RE games, only the opposite was true. The PS1 games had wonderful backgrounds and average character models.
Its just as the same way liek they did with the orinigals. Characters full 3d and enviroments setup with background pictures, just in the remake higher resolutions and animated backgrounds but still pretty good done, sometimes i forgot theyre just pictures.

i have never played RE 5 and 6 but i can tell that i would dont like it that much after playing RE 1, 2, 3, 4, 0, 1 remake, outbreak file 1 and 2 that games are my favorite ones, you know with all the classic stuff i just dont get it why they decided to create RE5 and 6 very different when they saw that the classic shit worked better, i just dont get it! anyways. HAHA my first time playing RE 4 i got scared when the "regenerator" appears in the cellblock not even Fatal frame make me fell so scared.
I saw a couple of videos about that game and yes it's intersting.
Capcom thinks they were doing everyone a favor when they turn it into a action shooter. When we all know that's not the reason why we love it in the first place. Now due to recent sales of their games, they realize that they'll have to reboot their franchise & bring back the classic style of game play. With some changes here & there. I just hope improve & avoid any more mistakes.
Resident Evil 5 was a response to how well Call of Duty sold. Naturally Capcom is gonna try and get some of those people to buy their game. That's why Resident Evil 5 looks and plays like an army game, to many fan's disappointment. At least with RE6. It looks and feels more horror themed.

I've tried and it works, but you still do need money like you said, the 3rd game is like 10 dollars, but the second is 20+ dollars (Sort of based off buying location) ... its a little bit more rare than 3 but I recommend 3 over 2, just a opinion though. As another Die Hard fan of the series, 4, revelations, 5 & 6 were the needed way for resident evil to be portrayed. From an older generation of game playing though I believe the first 3 resident evil games were masterpieces. And for the younger fans now like the remastered remake that's just being released. I think resident evil 2 & 3 should be done in the same way. To show them that this was why we enjoyed the series back then so much.

All of you idiot haters out there must understand that the game had to adapt and evolve its gameplay to fit the next gen consoles. RE was never meant to be a pure horror game but an action one. I grew up with RE 1-3, fantastic games back in the time. If they had made RE6 having the atmosphere of Leon's campaign (which imo is the darkest one) then RE6 would be a really really good game for me, but RE6 was fine overall. RE4 was a freaking masterpiece, but I will agree that RE5 needed more work.
I also agree that Resident Evil 4 was a masterpiece. It just had a great adventure, great unlocks, game ran smooth, great graphics, great but hard shooting gameplay, badass boss fights, etc..
But Resident Evil 4 got kind of weird when enemies starting shooting you. I like the parts where you had to kill those creepy alien things by shooting them in weak spots. That was scary as fuark!
Many don't like RE5, but I actually really like the game, but don't think the adventure was as good compared to 4.
But I look at these games in multiple ways; How they stand as a video game, as a horror game, and a resident evil game....
I LOVE the inventory system in Resident Evil 4. The weapons looked great too.

Reaction, arcade shooters aren't the best way to go for a series that pioneered survival horror. Meaning less shoot everything and punch boulders till they die, and more ammo conservation and item management.
Indeed games can't stay the same, but no one's asking to have the same game as RE1. What people want is a return to true survival horror, not punching zombies left and right with no worry and herbs literally given to you out every crevice in the game. Oh, well. Believe what you will. 😎
Allow me to tell you why exactly people complain. I don't know how long you have been playing Resident Evil but it doesn't seem you understand what people liked from these games, nor does capcom anymore.
People want a game that makes you feel scared, helpless and like you could die at any moment. A game that's creepy and foreboding. I don't know anyone out there who hates RE4. They merely hate the legacy that it brought.
No, re4 was still a horror game with shooter elements. Re5 and 6 feel like a Michael Bay movie. Gone is the horror element and nightmarish atmosphere. Gone is the slow and memorable music and instead it's been replaced by Hollywood generic orchestra #45. It feels soulless and it's catering to the lowest common denominator.
We don't want zombies per say again, we want horror, scares, atmosphere. We want something less polished and more spartan. Have you played RE:Revelations? That was a big step in the right direction and a game that is worthy of the Resident evil name.
I don't know if I explained myself well enough but I will let the sales numbers speak for themselves. Resident evil HD remaster has been the fastest selling RE title to date! I think it's pretty obvious that people want that and not generic shootan #23
Sometimes you must go back to your roots to actually evolve. Resident evil 5-6? They're abominations that should have never been made.
Resident evil 5 WAS going to evolve the series. During development it was to be an entirely different game altogether. Slower and more involved while keeping the camera from 4. It was going to even have the sun affect you with hallucinations and thirst. Then people complained about non-existent racism, Sheva was brought in, the game was rushed and the rest is history. But wait... Hallucinations? Scarce ammo? Loneliness? SURVIVAL?! Yes! That was it! It was perfect. That is evolution, they took an established concept and cranked it up to 11. Resident evil is about the horror, the atmosphere, eccentricity and the survival; it doesn't matter how it's done as long as it's done.

There's been some good games, some amazing and some bad but Resident Evil will always be recognized as one of if not the best zombie survival series out there and will always be one of my personal favorite series of games.

I loved the serie from Resident Evil especially RE 2 and RE 4 where my favorites ones. I bought Operation Racoon City on PC but it is really bad and i not even understand that game at all + the maniability sucks or maybe it is me ?!

Everybody is like RE 6 sucked, terrible game, shittiest one...etc. but honestly I actually like it. Pretty much the only thing I disliked about it was the skill set system and the item slots. I much prefer RE 4's attache case and being able to upgrade it to bigger sizes

Robin Bergström everything about 6 was just disappointing, especially for the people that have played the sequels in order from 1-6. There was high expectations to have the same effect as number 4 because Leon was coming back, but it failed to impress. Story wasn't impressive, inventory really sucked ass, no pause feature, and it just felt like a chore getting through the campaigns. Never again. Everyone hated on number 5 because of the lack of horror, but i supremely enjoyed it and the replay value was high. Number 5 is looking pretty damn good right now

If you want SURVIVAL HORROR, then what you want are RE 1-3 and code veronica.
If you want ACTION BASED, then what you want are RE 4 and 5.

0,1, 2, 3 and 4 are the best! Code Veronica and Revelations are good though!

looking at the entire franchise i could see why CAPCOM changed their style from survivor horror to action horror, it seems like the more recent titles cater to battlefield, COD, and modern warfare while the 1 - 13 , 15 literally looked like the same thing :-( and being a fan I'm kind of shock to admit that after seeing this video.
