I'm not sure what some people are smoking when they say AC4 was the worst. I found this to be better than AC1, ACR, and AC3 for sure. Only complaint is that I wish they would make the combat better instead of the instant one hit kill. It makes me feel like a God and it feels out of place. They need to make the combat better, decrease the time for the counter window like in AC1 (also get rid of slow motion countering), and increase the difficulty.
Combat is already better. Increase difficulty? No. Take off the HUD and then it will be.
Combat is not better if I have to press a single button to win. Combat was NEVER better. Best one was in AC1 with the counter window being smaller. I did have the HUD off. It's still way too easy.
Dildo Baggina Probably our different preference then. Actually, my only gripe in the latest AC combat is the double hidden blades - the execution are way too slow.
lolol! i liked your first opinion however i gotta say, the combat isnt easy compared to other AC, (especially AC2), when u fight in AC4, there are brutes that can cancel your streak, there are agile guards that u'd have to break defense and Captains that u can only counter attack, not mentioning shooters... and one hit kill? geez, when u board a ship and you fight, dont you just hate those '20 slices till he drop' combat =.= , literally Edward just slices the crap out of one guy before he can initiate killstreak.
I'm glad you noticed that! It is better than the previous combat mechanic. At least a bit of strategic elements there. I hated the kick button in Brotherhood and Revelation.

It was great indeed. It was a massive step up in the game mechanic and gameplay. Story have gotten dense. I think AC3 is a refreshing change of pace with the new main Assassin and people didn't like it because it could have been so much more like the Frontier demo(that I agree with them).

Why 3? It had a dull and boring main character, even Altair was better than this guy.

jellybobdave AC4 had the worst story and characters and annoying-ass pirate ship battles, pirates don't belong in an AC game.
i will give you that pirates ships do not belong. but along with many others i think the story was one of the best, because it took itself less serious, and the off ship gameplay really mastered the the whole assassin experience. and really gave me back faith in the series. and now i cant wait for unity.
Every Assassin's Creed game is about how people change, and that everyone can be guided in the right direction. AC 4 was NOT crap. It was actually quite good. It showed that the assassin's mentality can change even a goldthirsty pirate. I think that playing AC (as a whole) is not only super fun and entertaining, but it's also educating and affecting your personality in a great way.

AC2 for the time it was made in was great. Absolutely Phenomenal
also AC3 is pretty impressive 'cause only one man took down the entire templar order in his region without any help of any other assassins, compared to how the assassins helped in the story of Ezio i'd say Connor is incredible.

Scorpionsv really? i found them very straight forward, it was actually boring. but thanks to this "teaser" of naval battles, AC4 was born :D. but yes, some parts are really confusing.

I liked all the games (I am talking about the ones on the PC and the consoles). I think the bomb crafting in Revelations was a great thing and I think that in Ezio's Story the Assassin's Creed: Revelations game was the best one out of the three)
I can't understand why you guys hates AC Black Flag that much, I was tired of climbing fucking buildings in every AC that came out, this ACBF is fresh with new content and context, I really like it, the ship system is a huge innovation, and if you're gonna set the story in pirates times, a ship is something that have to be there! and being able control it at the level that you can hire pirates for your crew in my opinion is just awesome.
You kinda do the same in 3. You earn a ship called the Aquela something in a mission and you can control it complete privateer missions upgrade it do whatever the hell you want that's the only cool thing in 3

Nobody hates Black Flag. In fact, with it, the series is back on track. But many people sure do hate AC3. I am not one of them though.
If I were to hate an AC game, it'd definitely be the first one. I'm not sure why it gets praised so much over the others.

***** That's more like it but I would put the ACR above AC1 just because of Yusuf's line: 'The HOOKBLADE has two parts you see, the HOOK and the BLADE'....I loved the bomb crafting too though. Never understood why it got so many bad reviews. AC1 had good story but after the third city I was like 'not this side mission again!' but it sure beats 3 of course. Not that it isn'T a great game just not as good as it should've been. I still love climbing the moving windmill in New York. Or was it Boston? Never mind.
***** Hey I loved the tower defense! It isn't some small not-to-be-worth-mentioning mini-game. And I loved the new city too despite the total lack of horses. Ezio finally grew a beard on that gay-italian beard of his which he had at the end of AC2 and in ACB. Bomb crafting was awesome too I missed it in AC3 and 4. I hope Arno can craft something even if not bombs.
***** And what does arm wrestling has to do with being a witcher? It doesn't have to do anything with it but it is still an awesome mini-game. They fixed the 'hey the assassins taken a fort! Should we do something about it? Nah we have plenty more.' thing which was in ACB. It was a bonus point to ACR for me that the bad buys ain't just sitting on their asses.

Agreed. Those were the only innovative 2. Technically 1 and 3 were the ones that came up with the ideas, but 2 and 4 DEFINITELY mastered them. I hope to see an ancient Japanese AC in the near future.

1. Assassins Creed 2 (just simply the best: best character, best map, biggest map, focussed story, well told story, and EZIO.)
2. Assassins Creed Revelations (ending made the game, you feel Ezio come full circle and he is now a master assassin that knows everything, you were with him from literally birth until this point, amazing ride and last of the true assassins creed games.)
3. Assassins Creed Brotherhood (added a lot to what 2 had to offer)
4. Assassins Creed 4 (just because it was fun no other reason cuz story was pretty crap)
5. Assassins Creed (the OG with the story that had the original purpose. Only down here because of clunky gameplay and less freedom but still great)
6. Assassins Creed 3 (down here because characters were stale and it lost focus)
7. Assassins Creed Unity (short ass story, confusing ass story, no point, still don't have a main character. Just a shell calling itself a creed game. I'm hoping they put something real together quick because the story is REALLY losing focus and it's getting CoD syndrome)
My favorite franchise and I'm really sad to say it's dying. I just hope that people don't forget what a true and great assassins creed game is in the process of this over production and these under made games. Still fun to play but no longer really assassins creed. Watch or play any of the first 4 Assassins Creed - Assassins Creed Revelations and you will see what the series was and the greatness the franchise once held.
Brotherhood, still the best overall, honestly. ACII is right behind it, then AC4.

Ac1. It was Altair, and it introduced you to the mechanics of combat and free-running
Ac2. It had the best storyline, the best characters and it significantly improved free-running and combat, while including swimming.
AcB. Has the best combat to date, and introduced a unique multiplayer mode that is still very fun
AcR. Set in Constantinople (amazing environment), has the best free-running, with the hook blade, vastly improved multiplayer and desmond's journey
Ac3. Added the wilderness and boat.
Ac3. Added the wilderness and hunting opportunities, and added a lot of mission variety with a. the naval missions and b. actually playing as a Templar for a large chunk of the game.
Ac4. Is adding hunting, underwater missions, a lot of naval opportunity, a HUGE gaming world, improved weather and graphics, many new weapons and gadgets, like the free-aim pistol and the berserk blowgun, a new free-running system and cities inspired by AC2.
By the looks of it, Ac4 looks like a very strong game!!!

The modern character you control is an employee of Abstergo Industries' entertainment department who is given the job of exploring Edward's memories. Abstergo are still able to access Edward's memories as they took possession of Desmond's body at the end of AC3, so they still have access to his DNA.

I gotta say, from playing 1 and 2 I expected the series to go like this.
AC1: Desmond gets captured and forced to use the Animus to find the Apple of Eden.
AC2: The Assassins use the Animus's bleeding effect to give Desmond Ezio's skills.
AC3: Desmond fights the Templars in the present.
And yet they made spin offs of two and three wasn't Desmond at all and now I hear he is dead. I haven't played any of the other games but I gotta say I was really wanting to see what the present day assassins had to offer.
Also, all the other games were amazing too. I think the plots get better and better as the games come out.

I honestly liked the atmosphere of ACII the best. It really set Assassin's Creed for me. 3 and 4 seem like they could be called idk The Coming War or Pirate's Plunder or some shit. Assassin just doesn't fit......

Yes. Assassin's Creed II fixes everything bad about the first one. More mission varieties are added, repetition goes away, combat is better, there are more weapon types, you can swim, climbing is much faster, etc. Definitely continue with the series.

AC 1 & 2 makes you feel more like an Assassin coz after every assassination you just have to run because fighting the guards is god damn hard. Starting from ACB, everything seems easier because of the skills you've adapt :D

I think that Assassin's Creed should revisit Altiar in another game. There wasn't much freedom in Assassin's Creed 1 and it'd be cool to see Altiar with different color robes, more weapons, different armor, better animations, longer storyline, and all the things that we saw in the other Assassin's Creed :)

I actually think that AC3 is the best. I love the animations in AC3 a lot more and I just feel more attracted to Boston, New York and the Frontier than I am to Rome or Constantinople. Probably my opinion.

Storywise, the best ones for me are AC2, AC1, ACB, ACR, AC4, AC3... Gameplaywise of course it's Black Flag.
