Maybe they made a mistake and give you 2 portions. Either way, it’s never a bad thing to get more then you usually would expect. I agree, a bit pricey but it is what it is and I think if you don’t eat out much, it’s a reasonable treat. Especially for the high quality. Take a break and get well. The main reason I (and I suspect most people) are enjoying your content is because its real, its easy going and it's very easy to relate to. Whatever you do dont fall into the "content creator" trap. I know I for one would rather you took it a bit easier and didnt burn out than run yourself into the ground for the "algorithms". Do it for the love of it and the passion of it, because that's why we like it. We will still be here waiting for the next opportunity to "give it a go", even it that's another week or so!

I love seeing fast food places getting reviewed because I never visit them. I used to stop at Maccas for the barista made coffee now and then, but they have even managed to ruin that seems to have reduced the coffee to milk ratio to increase profit and use cheaper beans. Tastes terrible! I haven't bought fast food for over 5 years I think.
Easily my favourite food reviewer on TH-cam. Good range of places from the cheap to the fairly expensive, keeps it real and no click bait titles. I had a rotten cold too for a week or so recently. Feel better soon.

(123) Peanut oil is the key to giving anything a good finish when you deep-fry something; it has quite a high "smoke point". I have never had a Five Guys burger, and they are not cheap. But then again, the folk I've talked to who have had them say they are worth the money. Quite pleased that you enjoyed it so much. Thanks for the upload, Gary!!! Always a treat. 😃
A lot of people are allergic to peanuts. 3% or so of the population. I wouldn’t be able eat there sadly. I’m far from allergic to Gary’s superb reviews though!

Hi Gary I’m one guy who suggested five guys after your Wendy’s trip, the F,Guys my local in Brixton south London had a box of peanuts in the shells you can help yourself to as many as you like, and a sign saying where today’s potatoes were from, yes a bit expensive but me and the misses only have one small chips to share, we are OAPs after all. Good review again mate 👍

Their fries sizes are a portion plus extra every time, By the counter area there's normally a sign signifying what potatoes they're using and who supplied them at that present time. 55lbs bags of potatoes are delivered to the restaurant, washed, then chipped and fried. The thing about Five Guys is if they were decorated more like a chain restaurant or pub, with a closed kitchen, you had to wait 20mins for a burger and it came served on a plate nobody would question the price at all - they’d think it was amazing value. I think the decor is what skews a lot of people’s expectations, it Is a fast food place at the end of the day, just a very high quality one.

Went to 5 Guys once in the city, worked in Manhattan. I really loved it, burger, one price and all the toppings you care to add. Saw the fresh beef being shaped and cooked. Fries were lovely but the topper for me was they had Malt Vinegar, a very rare condiment in the US. Also they have bags of monkey nuts for free to eat while you are waiting.
I’ve installed ice machines in various Five Guys and we often get a free meal afterwards which is vey much appreciated as the burgers & fries are absolutely delicious. By far the best burgers I’ve had and when you consider how much meat you get compared to Madge or BK they are actually good value too👌🏻
I don't often eat burgers, but I do treat myself to a Five Guys occasionally. As well as being incredibly tasty, I like the fact that Five Guys burgers stay hot and stay in one piece. I don't like burger sandwiches that fall apart or are too 'wet', or ones that are full of cold salad ingredients that quickly make your burger cold! For me, I like my Five Guys burger with cheese, fried onions, mushrooms, ketchup and mustard. No bacon where I live, unfortunately!
Great review Gary, love your channel. After you raved about that burger I headed straight for Five Guys, only a couple of hundred metres from where I live in Melbourne Australia. Never been in there before and probably never would have but for you. The place was insanely busy with a queue back to the entrance door, but their efficiency was amazing and my order was taken and meal prepared and served in only a few minutes. I ordered the bacon and cheese burger with all the usual toppings (but not mushrooms), small Cajun fries and a chocolate milkshake. Best fast food meal I've ever had and at $39.90 also the most expensive. Never mind, it was worth every cent. All ingredients are locally grown Australian produce, the best in the world. For mine I give it a perfect 10. Before leaving, I excitedly congratulated the manager and staff. We have two other Five Guys, located in Sydney and Penrith NSW. Fantastic!

I like them but spending £16+ on a burger and fries in a fast food style restaurant just jars with me. Hache in Kingston do a really good burger and you get to sit in a more stylish restaurant right by the river with table service, wine, beer etc

A Different class to that over rated cardboard McDonalds but my pet hate going to 5 guys is while they prepare your burger they have conversations with members of staff and it’s very off putting because there not wearing a mask this should be addressed or wear masks

As a British Pipefitter Plumber working in the USA, I put in the plumbing and get running 2 5 guys' restaurants in Idaho USA, I actually Met 4 of the 5 guys And a mother ( who absolutely loves the UK ), At this point they didn't do Milkshakes When asked what I thought of the free burgers We got on pre-opening Day staff training, I said It would be nice If I could get a milkshake, and they introduced them shortly After, One Guy is responsibly for the building of All 5 guys restaurants, So impressed With our problem solving and getting our stuff ahead of schedule He Gave us 5 guys hats and I could get a free burger or Fries When ever I wanted one for a month

£17 for a burger and fries is a rip off but its ok for a rare treat. They kicked you out for spending money and advertising their shopping mall. Something unpleasant about that.
This video came at the perfect time Gary. Lots of negative Five Guys stuff going on here in the US currently. People are posting their receipts and showing how much one meal cost and its insane in some of them.
30 quid for this grub ain't cheap for one person to munch. I may give it a bash in future as i never had it. I can get quality food for less hence why i have not tried it yet.
I went there for lunch a couple of times this week, and I just got a baconburger with a drink, no fries. $5 for a cup of fries is steep, but the burger and a drink isn't bad and fills me up like a decent lunch. I just grab a bunch of peanuts for a side dish, which are free, which I snack on while waiting on the burger. When I go there with my girlfriend, I get the regular fries, since they give you a real mound of them, and split them with her. $5 for the regular fries is a small mountain, so it's plenty for two.
Five Guys is exceptionally good. The portions of fries are mind blowing! And they taste incredible! The burgers are really REALLY good. When I first entered, the prices horrified me. But after tasting it, I have been back a few times.
Of all the times I have gone to 5 Guys, they have NEVER served the food up on a silver tray, with the chips in a metal cup. It's all in a bag, with the portions being smaller due to shrinkflation, and increased prices. This is all pomp and ceremony for the video.
Five Guys is okay but I really wouldn't recommend it. Nicer than Burger King but it's so expensive that the slightly better quality doesn't justify the enormous price difference. I didn't find the portion size of the chips to be generous at all in fact it was on the small side. There's a lot to like about it, in fact just not at the ridiculous prices they charge. I haven't been for a few years so perhaps it's improved. I used to recommend Gourmet Burger Kitchen before that went downhill

What everyone forgets is that there is no money spent for advertising. All the money goes into the product. Its been less than 20 years in growth from the original 5 stores. Franchising unfortunately adds cost to the bill. And there are a handful (very few) of franchisees who are hurting the brand overall.
I can't believe Maccas is still so popular with much better burgers available these days. I guess you can't underestimate the stupidity of the average person.

Perfect review. I feel the same way, it’s an excellent, excellent burger and fries…but the cost means I don’t go that often…but whenever I do go, I look forward to it and I thoroughly enjoy it.
They must have recognised you, as you NEVER get anywhere near that amount of fries in there, and you should check the cleanliness towards the end of the day, as I can assure you, that it is far from spotless !!!!!!
I can only comment on my visit and it was great standards, the cameraman has been before and said the portion of fries is always huge. Next time you go show them the video and say I want that portion 🤷♂️
I dislike how they wrap the burgers in foil, the buns end up being all wrinkly and sweaty which is not pleasant, especially at that price point. The fries are great though.

Went to five guys once and never again the food was awesome but 2 cheeseburgers no bacon and one regular Cajun seasoned fries 33 dollars and she had the nerve to turn that white ipad type payment system back towards me to find out how much i wanted to tip from now on i make my own burger at home.

I took my two kids, three burgers, three small fries, three milkshakes £60. I almost needed resuscitation!!! It was very tasty though.
Tasty and pricey is exactly how I called it after I took my little niece to one. Just under £50 for the 2 of us.
Personally wouldn’t be a place I take kids as they wouldn’t appreciate how much better the burgers are.

I made the mistake of getting a large portion the first time I ate at Five Guys. I hardly managed to make a dent in the portion they served.
They do that to get rid of the potatoes before they go rotten as they order massive sacks, I wish they ordered massive sacks of beef 😂

A Different class to that over rated cardboard McDonalds but my pet hate going to 5 guys is while they prepare your burger they have conversations with members of staff and it’s very off putting because there not wearing a mask this should be addressed or wear masks

if you're going for a fast food burger go Five Guys over MacDonalds or Burger King every time....more expensive yes but much much better

As a British Pipefitter Plumber working in the USA, I put in the plumbing and get running 2 5 guys' restaurants in Idaho USA, I actually Met 4 of the 5 guys And a mother ( who absolutely loves the UK ), At this point they didn't do Milkshakes When asked what I thought of the free burgers We got on pre-opening Day staff training, I said It would be nice If I could get a milkshake, and they introduced them shortly After, One Guy is responsibly for the building of All 5 guys restaurants, So impressed With our problem solving and getting our stuff ahead of schedule He Gave us 5 guys hats and I could get a free burger or Fries When ever I wanted one for a month

£17 for a burger and fries is a rip off but its ok for a rare treat. They kicked you out for spending money and advertising their shopping mall. Something unpleasant about that.

This video came at the perfect time Gary. Lots of negative Five Guys stuff going on here in the US currently. People are posting their receipts and showing how much one meal cost and its insane in some of them.

30 quid for this grub ain't cheap for one person to munch. I may give it a bash in future as i never had it. I can get quality food for less hence why i have not tried it yet.
I went there for lunch a couple of times this week, and I just got a baconburger with a drink, no fries. $5 for a cup of fries is steep, but the burger and a drink isn't bad and fills me up like a decent lunch. I just grab a bunch of peanuts for a side dish, which are free, which I snack on while waiting on the burger. When I go there with my girlfriend, I get the regular fries, since they give you a real mound of them, and split them with her. $5 for the regular fries is a small mountain, so it's plenty for two.
It’s horrid in the U.K. once was enough will never go back

£5.99 for a milkshake is an absoloute joke, no matter how nice it is.
Unless I've got the exchange rate wrong, that price seems about normal. Maybe not right, but typical.
Of all the times I have gone to 5 Guys, they have NEVER served the food up on a silver tray, with the chips in a metal cup. It's all in a bag, with the portions being smaller due to shrinkflation, and increased prices.
This is all pomp and ceremony for the video.
I can tell you, they had absolutely no idea we were filming. as is the case in every restaurant we visit

I have always found that 5 Guys and Fuddruckers have the best burgers around. Never a disappointment with either one.
I think it’s a good burger, but a bit pricey
Five Guys is okay but I really wouldn't recommend it. Nicer than Burger King but it's so expensive that the slightly better quality doesn't justify the enormous price difference. I didn't find the portion size of the chips to be generous at all in fact it was on the small side. There's a lot to like about it, in fact just not at the ridiculous prices they charge. I haven't been for a few years so perhaps it's improved. I used to recommend Gourmet Burger Kitchen before that went downhill

If you’re in Kingston you have to try Poor Boys American Chicken restaurant. Their food looks amazing!

What everyone forgets is that there is no money spent for advertising. All the money goes into the product. Its been less than 20 years in growth from the original 5 stores.
Franchising unfortunately adds cost to the bill. And there are a handful (very few) of franchisees who are hurting the brand overall.

Perfect review. I feel the same way, it’s an excellent, excellent burger and fries…but the cost means I don’t go that often…but whenever I do go, I look forward to it and I thoroughly enjoy it.

They must have recognised you, as you NEVER get anywhere near that amount of fries in there, and you should check the cleanliness towards the end of the day, as I can assure you, that it is far from spotless !!!!!!
I can only comment on my visit and it was great standards, the cameraman has been before and said the portion of fries is always huge. Next time you go show them the video and say I want that portion 🤷♂️

I agree both very good but it’s a bit pricey
I dislike how they wrap the burgers in foil, the buns end up being all wrinkly and sweaty which is not pleasant, especially at that price point. The fries are great though.

Went to five guys once and never again the food was awesome but 2 cheeseburgers no bacon and one regular Cajun seasoned fries 33 dollars and she had the nerve to turn that white ipad type payment system back towards me to find out how much i wanted to tip from now on i make my own burger at home.
