@@nicholassemelak6224 i was so wishing Monarch would end with a scream too! Tim is sounding amazing again and i hope he will sing those old songs with more intensity again. I can hear he has had so much vocal lessons. The scream on this song came as a big surprise to me as its the only one on the album haha.
Had vocals from this song pop into my head while I was reading news today. Took me a while to find what song, or even what band I was thinking of. Far better than I could, this song expresses the weird mix of guilt, panic, self-loathing, paralyzed anxiety and paradoxical apathy/resignation it means to live in this society, the mingled fear and feeling of deserving what we know is coming, behind all our false smiles. Seems my life these days is spent wastefully killing precious time waiting for something I dread, feeling vaguely guilty for a hundred different reasons, and hating myself for being unable to enjoy what life we all have left under the Sword of Damocles.
It doesn't matter if you've been a fan since this album or since day one. Rise's ability to consistently produce music that can connect to anyone from every background and make it seem as if the song was written about them Is a talent that few and far between. This is why I will always love them.
This song resonates deeply with me. But it also comes with a soul chilling reminder that this song is right. Sooner or later, we're all going to pay the price for what we've done to this world. And it makes me sad, knowing how preventable it all was.
I cried listening to this song. Tim's scream like old days, the lyrics so meaningful in this time of Pandemic and self isolation. I wish we could wake up and live again. I want to feel something again. Breath again. This song just touched me in my soul. Thank you Rise Against ❤️🕯️
this song goes back to the roots of who RA is, and you can feel it in the pain and anger in the lyrics and tim's performance. humankind has made a devastating effect on our planet, and many of the effects are irreversible. what we need more in society are regulations to prevent huge corporations from over-exploiting our ecosystems, and more social awareness of the terrifying, close-looming effects of climate change.
After a first round-up listening of the album, that song came to me as the most refreshing. Sounds a bit different from what we're used to, but still with a core RA sound. Great stuff
I fricking love those screams, reminds me of old rise against. You can hear and feel the passion in his words, really hits hard so please never stop doing that ❤️
No words man just goosebumps. Thank you for this I think your fanbase really needed this. You guys have so much truth. Modern day rage against the machine, but more lyrically friendly to younger audiences. Love you rise against. I will be at your next show whenever your in canada!
And soon we’ll feel the panic In our breath and in our veins When you know there’s no tomorrow And you’ve realized too late This one hits like a sledgehammer.
@@clutchbleach2057 then what is more punk rock to you ? Disclose, Discharge , Skitsystem, Dropdead , Siege , Infest , Spazz ,Charles Bronson ? Then that is punk rock to you ?
The minutes you spent watching these dudes pile TVs waiting for something to happen are nothing compared to the years we've waited for something to happen to combat climate change
The common practice of charging what the market can bear is not a lie it is an evident truth that they know they are putting pressure unto oppression upon themselves.
Wow, never thought I'd hear a new song with Tim screaming like the old days.
It was rad, although I wish it wasn't the only scream part on the album
@@gonzalojosegutierrez1317 agreed
Threw me for a sec... thought he wasn't supposed to do that anymore...
@@rd6203 Why tho? Lmfao
@@gonzalojosegutierrez1317 his voice got super fuckes up. Hes been doing vocal training/therapy for years to get it better

Never thought I´d watch four guys stacking old televisions for three and a half minutes, but here I am.
let alone watch it *again*
Always remember the last: Sooner or later, comes a time when we'll have nowhere left to run, sooner or later, we will have to go home.
I love that Everytime a RA releases a new somg it still feels like the band I fell in love with
I was surprised to see a whole album just pop into my sub feed

The lyrics in the verses of this song are ridiculously brilliant. He is a true poet
Lyrics and the melody as well, such a cool vibe, and I probably never heard Tim sing that way, he sounds great in the lower registers.

The common practice of charging what the market can bear is not a lie it is an evident truth that they know they are putting pressure unto oppression upon themselves.
Not necessarily saying I dislike this song, but the chorus sounds like the opening titles music for a sitcom called 'Sooner or later'.
I'm down for that. Get Rise Against some more exposure
Remember the killing tree. That was so damn good
