In the US, the only Taycan cheaper than an EV6GT on Autotrader is a salvage car with front end damage.
I’m guessing Porsches are less expensive in Europe 😢
It’ll buff off
😂😂😂😂
@@Nonegiven14582 : True, but unlike many others of this ilk, it is not too biased, and very watchable!
@@SlayerJim no, it isn't cheaper here or that cheaper 😅
I just sold my Mach-E GT Performance for the EV6 GT, and, respectfully, I don't think that Rory did a good job of understanding and reviewing this car. It's actually a real HOOT, and has perhaps the best bang for the buck (or pound) of any EV performance-oriented car. It outshines the i4 M50 in interior space, handling, and acceleration, and price. I find that the car has a lot of adjustability in its suspension, I just don't think Rory seemed to spend much time with it in anything but GT mode (which is a stiff ride). I think Rory couldn't look get past the sport seats -- I think he just might not be, uh, the body type for this car. For those who fit, it's completely wrong to dismiss this as a viable competitor to the i4 M50 and base Taycan. And it blows the Mach-E away with its much more sophistcated powertrain and suspension. Oh and I got one for $12k off of MSRP in the US, I think it's a steal.
Agree. I canceled my i4 M50 order after a test drive in the EV6 GT, which I bought. I immediately felt more comfortable in the Kia - much better forward visibility and unlike Rory, I love the seats. I think the tech in the Kia is better, the paddle regen control is wonderful. I am also getting way better range than the EPA rating. How Rory can say the car has unnecessary power and is not fun is beyond me.
Rory is all worked up about the thigh support - not sure on his seating position but I don’t have his issue…
This is also the first "negative" review I see of the EV6 GT, other reviewers where having a blast and where calling it the first real performance EV.
Yeah, I don't get the seat comments. When I heard that I thought "Huh? I've never felt disccomfort along the thigh in this? I thought the seats were actually quite good".
The climate/media control switching... never found that a problem either. Though these days I default it to climate (if I switch it to media it reverts to climate again after a few seconds) as nearly all the media controls are operated through buttons on the steering wheel.
Australia may have a different suspension tune (or my prior experience is with stiff sports cars), but I'd hardly call the ride harsh, even in GT mode.
I never really change the seat position, so lack of power seats isn't a big deal. Though I really would have liked the ventilation that is on the GT-Line seats.
I haven't pushed my EV6 GT hard around corners yet (still getting used to it; don't want to bingle it), but there may be some truth to the lack of predictability mid corner. Shall see how much of that sense diappears once I'm more accustomed to the car.
Overall, this car is a sensational drive, as well as a comfy cruiser. And in a squirt from the traffic lights it will destroy pretty much any ICE car out there.
Where did you get it for so cheap?
I'm just really happy that that these brands can challenge the 'luxury' brands for their money. Having an EV means the acceleration/speed is not a factor anymore. Please do a drag race between this and the ferrari .
thats it tho your not paying for luxury 585 bhp in a kia isnt gonna be as nice as 585 bhp in a ferrari or bentley
Carwow already did a drag race with this EV and Ferrari
It can never be luxury if it's mass marketed.
Going fast in a straight line is about where it ends. These shitty EVs are horrible cars. No challenge what so ever pal.
You may be able to get a Taycan for £60k, I think I’d still have that Kia. It’d probably go the same distance on a charge, and you don’t need to find one with £25k worth of options as they’re full spec from the start.
Design wise I think it looks like what we’ve come to expect from EVs today. However, the numbers on the speed is mind blowing. Kia might have outdone themselves here
I daily drive a bmw 5 series and have a Peugeot 306 gti6 as a track car. But I have always appreciated kia as a company. They build decent cars for the morning and offer good warranty
@slickidrich490 : I have owned BMW's for the past forty-plus years. We also have a Kia Niro EV... I could not be more impressed with the standard of fit & finish in the Kia; OK, the seats are covered in something fake with a fancy name right out of Elon's book, and will never compare to BMW's M-Sport leather offerings, but it was only half the price. Things are changing at a scary pace! 🥴
What about for the afternoon?
This car is the epitome of those who know, know 😮
You are spoiled by the Audi/Taycan experiences you’ve had Rory 🙂
There's also the fact that the base model has more than enough performance for a daily-driver crossover. You are paying more for worse experience with the GT.
@@smog535have you driven one? I tested it and could not tell a major difference in comfortability in comfort mode vs my EV6 GT-Line.
I agree on the spoiling part. EV6 GT laps on track quite well, but it seems that Rory is on a mission to trash the car. "... For a Kia" and comparison to slower USED porsche Taycan gave it up. 😂
@@speksih : I really enjoy Rory's presentation... a bit of fact, a bit of his opinion, and a bit of 'tongue in cheek'. He has been (relatively) flattering about Kia's in the past, and while you may not agree with the comparison to a USED car, remember this channel is called 'AutoTrader' for a reason! 😜
Maybe if you and I were supplied with an Audi E-tron GT, we would look down our noses at most other cars on offer? Lucky Bas***d!
I have. Been driving my gt daily, taking the time to learn the car and how to use the settings is half the fun. Once setup for your style it becomes amazing.. love this car.
I've never seen that much negativity directed to a Tesla. It would be good to see this level of scrutiny applied to that brand.
WTF Tesla is a punching bag. Hyundai-Kia group is doing great EVs but they need to be taken down a peg. Don't be a cliche and treat all brands a fairly.
3.5 mins in and already Rory dishing out the REAL review on all the small things right and wrong. He calls it as it is and catches all the driver annoyances that most other reviewers miss. Matt Watson comes close with his 5 annoying things but Rory never fails. The REAL reviewer on YT.
@pumpituphomeboy : I agree... I have watched Rory's reviews on cars I have no interest in, just because I enjoy his videos.
Nevertheless, not everyone is annoyed by the same things; For example, Kia's Lane Keep Assist (LKA) is a real hate for me... I want to be able to 'ease' through a corner by touching the sideline without getting into a 'Tug of War' with the steering wheel. As for have the damned thing scare the carp out of my passengers by 'Bonging' repeatedly... HELL NO! I have tried and failed to turn this off in the menus; having to turn it off each trip is a faff. My BMW allows me to turn the steering-tugger off, and choose whether to have vibrate on, and at what level... it would never be so uncouth as to involve my passengers in the decision by yelling at them! AND IT REMEMBERS WHAT I TOLD IT!... it is my car, after all. 😡
The distinct difference between car producing and making bhp. Thank you Rory for stating it that way.
I love automobiles, everything from big trucks to nimble convertibles. EVs have a place, especially in daily commute duty or purpose build. But now, this Kia makes electric fun, set me up with one...PLEASE!
mine coming this month :-)
The turn radius is probably reduced due to the size of the electric motors, depending on their placement. Or possibly because it's using axles and CV joints from another vehicle, to save on R&D and production costs, making it difficult to optimize its turning radius, as the pre-existing parts are already a certain size.
I would go for the MG4 X Power 36 grand 429 BHP 0 - 62 3.8 seconds bargain of the century well done MG hope all prices come down prices are too high at the moment.
36k? That's shockingly powerful for the drive
Yes 36k brilliant pricing plan by MG hope all other manufacturers follow
Yeah, MG's are crazy good, especially for the money. And the Cyberster is an absolute beaut. Even so, I've always loved Korean cars like Hyundai and Kia.
Well yes, it is awesome pricing, but the MG4 certainly hasnt had the attention it needs to handle the 429bhp properly. Theyve just strapped all that power into an almost standard car and the bright orange brake covers on it, dont fill you with confidence. However 3.8 secs for £36k is STILL bonkers.
Im not sure there has been a new car in the last decade sold for that kind of money (hhmm. am I right?!) that gives so much straightline performance. Given the absolute daft EV pricing at the moment, its outrageous what MG have done there.
@SteYoung Absolutely agree with you thr MG does need more upgrades for it to be a better handling car but for straight light of the lights performance it is very hard to beat good sleeper car to pull up at the red lights in.
Well I’ve ordered one in black and can’t wait!
Im excited for you!
@@RiffShark007me too
Congrats, I’m sure you will enjoy it
Looks great and big power so no brainer really
Ignore the naysayers who say electric cars are “soulless“. I have had perfomance gas engine cars my whole life, but my EV6 GT has won me over. What it may lack in noise and vibration (if that’s your thing, it’s not mine anymore) it makes up for in instant, massive torque - which is its own kind of soul. You will love it.
You dont have to press the heat button. If you're in one of the auto heating modes the car toggles that on and off for you. The reason its there is to allow you to use an ambient air fan to clear the windscreen without all the power use of using the heater. I own one. It doesnt matter much in the EV6 but i wouldve killed for that feature in my 1st gen 24kwh Nissan Leaf 😂
So you have to press auto or press heat to get heat?
@@AutoTraderTV you just leave it in auto. Then it heats or cools to whatever temp you set like a normal climate control. It remembers the setting when turned off. Set and forget.
You just leave it turned on in normal situations. But if you need to maximise range, you have the ability to turn off the heat. No one complains that you have to press the A/C button to get cold air in ICE car...
Lol car reviewer doesn't know how automatic hvac controls work
In the satnav you can filter out chargers with less than 200kw power. And the ones you really want to charge at are the HPC chargers.
Great review!! Unrelatedly I hope you do a distance road trip review with the new Land Cruiser similar to what you did with the Audi estate from Germany
I have one. it's bonkers fast. Totally usable in just about every way. If you want to impress your mates, the GT button is the EV equivalent of Nitrous.
And if you want to go round corners and embarrass you and your mates it is so heavy I could leave you for dead in a citroen c1.......
@@adams7405 haha. Clearly never driven one. Will keep an eye out for you in your Citroen C1 though! Personally I think the Toyota Aygo is better version. Do you have the 1.3?
Great review mate
Truly appreciate the honesty. Valued opinions. Thanks for the information
Très bon reportage ! Merci
I would only like that heat on/off button for plug in hybrids.. keep that engine from turning on and just give me some airflow to keep the fog off the windshield
Nice and honest review of the Kia EV6 GT.
The heat does not come on automatically when you set the temperature, because it's a thermostat. This means that when the temperature varies too far above, or too far below the temperature that you have set, it will automatically turn on heat or cool depending on the circumstance. If you set the temperature to the temperature that you want, and need use heat to get there, then you need to press heat. If you set the temperature to what you want, and need to get cool to get there, then you press the cooling button. But if you just set the temperature and leave it alone, it works automatically.
Only if you’ve also pressed auto.
All that shenanigans just to get HEAT! I'll drive my non-automated ICE donkey till the wheels fall off
On my car I just set the temp and the system then goes about it’s business without any further intervention - which is as it should be.
Will that 2nd hand Porsche have a 7 year warranty? Amongst other things 🤔
Hi Rory, thanks for the review! The KIA EV6 GT is a bit much for me, because the GT line AWD is plenty fast enough for me.
However, I would like to know why the 585 Hp is a bit much for a family car, given that there are plenty of people who like the feeling of getting pushed forward by a giant hand. I didn't see this remark in the Porsche Taycan review you did a while ago, and the Taycan is also a family car.
it that the base tycan you are comparing this to that is super slow?
Best low profile tires Goodyear Eagle Sport ive tried out most on the market Goodyears are the best in rain and are the smoothest riding they feel like your riding on clouds all the way til theres no thread left
World hasn't gone mad, it's an excellent brand new vehicle, 62k is perfectly reasonable in today's economy.
Nice review (as ALWAYS!) but, I disagree in that it's not difficult to wrap your head around buttons and allocation of them, once you've been in the car for longer than 10mins, or more than a one off test drive, and I 100% prefer the option of physical buttons over a one screen to do EVERYTHING, meaning I need to look away from the road to see/check my speed!
62k 🤣 cmon. Nice design but they need to be realistic here. Also I'd rather have the 458 🤷🤣
who wouldn't it's only like 3 times the price
@@ricklee3 Grow up
A quick FYI on the infotainment.... you can select which chargers the map shows you when you press EV on the screen. Mine is set to 100kW chargers and above - this shows only the faster DC chargers!
And it says HP next to the high power ones.
i think the ioniq 6 N will beat everything. i have a 2023 golfR performance at the moment but im ready to trade it in, in a heartbeat for the ioniq 6N. finally an ev worth it
Beautiful car
Sounds like they need some of the Hyundai N engineers to actually do some of the dynamics on this. All that power and falls apart at the sight of a bend, even more baffling when you effectively have those engineers within your sister brand.
Ioniq 5 n is going to shit on this lol
Yes it is very heavy, quite laughable when a Tesla Y trying to show off couldn't shake me off on a B road ...I was in a 2012 Citroen C1......
Obviously this was the shocker around 6mths to 1yr ago. Now I am looking forward to the Volvo XC30 Performance. OK it is a little smaller but at £42,000 it even comes with a panoramic roof.!!
EX30?
@MarkSmith-lu7ly Sorry typo!!
Obviously I meant EX30... too many bloody abbreviations

one thing I don't like about the modern cars is the digital displays . They are just square IPADS stuck on the dash. While they offer amazing features, I don't think they are being explored enough. II would like to see them more harmonized with the dash shape and with some cool 3D dials, which would resemble old stylish bezels.
I have a white one and I love it. This is the cheapest way to buy a supercar.
I would for sure buy this car. I would love dust my hardcore ICE motorhead friends with an family EV designed for going to work, bringing the kids to soccer games, and to the grocery store.
And after you'd dusted your ice friends, you'd spend the rest of the day charging it up or you wouldn't be going anywhere
@MTB_Rider_96 : This is the kind of "Buzz" people got when Hot-Hatches first appeared, just dragged into the next millenium and upscaled! 👍
I prefer manual seats.. how often am I really moving it? For me the answer is basically never, why carry around a bunch of gears and motors for something that moves maybe 5 times in the whole duration I own it?
@shovel : True, but the whole picture changes when two or more people share a vehicle. We have a Kia Niro without seat memory, and a BMW with "Comfort Access". Approach the BMW with your own key in your pocket and the door unlocks, the seat moves to your position, the door-mirrors do the same, the sound system switches to your station, the Head-Up display adjusts to your height, etc.
Just think how much complication you are avoiding! 😜 🥴
The Electric seats would not only add weight they would also more than likely increase the seat height. And then Rory would complain about the seats being too high😂😂😂
So… from 2.1 tonnes to 2.12 tonnes?
@@AutoTraderTV every ounce counts..😂😂😂
You do know the r8 has manual seats to but no one complains about that
Give me mechanical seats any day of the week. My wife and I are constantly adjusting seats for each other and it takes way less time with a mechanical lever than holding a button and waiting for the seat to bzzzzzz its way into position. Pull, slide, clunk, done.
@@TheDaern If you had a good auto seat it would memorise both your favourite positions and automatically preset them based on whose key was used to open the door. No adjustment necessary. Ever.
You have to turn the heating on as it has to be generated via an electric heater - totally different to a ICE powered car that generates the heat regardless.
The manual seat surprised me when I first went to look at mine. I said “Really? A manual seat?” The sales guy claimed it was for “weight reduction”. Uh huh… but it has a power moonroof… But I’m the only person that drives my car. I set it once and I don’t touch it ever again. It’s not a deal breaker.
Same with mine. I set it up in a few seconds when I first got the car and haven’t touched it since. My wife will never drive it, she’s terrified of the car!
@@michaelc2254 Ha! My wife loves the car, but she refuses to drive it for some reason. She has an Ioniq 5. I think maybe she doesn't want to get jealous. Ha ha!
Great, honest review, thanks Rory!
Rory - your honesty is priceless ! Nice to have your opinions on board prior to buying a vehicle. Thank you.
1:46 And how much maintaining the Taycan gonna cost you vs the EV6 ? Food for thought. 👍
Really looking forward to the Smart 3# Brabus version. The interior is way better than the EV6.
Cheque is in the post from Porsche 😮
The EV6 GT can go 0-60 in 3.1 seconds at charge levels over 70%, as long as the weather is warm and the road surface is decent.
I agree is it really necessary you don't need that kind of power you could enjoy the car the other version
I received a $3750 dealer discount and another $4000 discount for financing with Kia. My OTD with taxes in VA was $3000 less than MSRP. Oh, and I am beating the 207 mile EPA range rating by 30 miles. I am confident that when it's not 98F here I can get closer to 240miles and up for range. As for finding DC charging stations, if you use Apple Car Play your charging apps and drill down by charging speed.
Nobody aspires to buy a Kia though 🤷🏾♂️ until they’re more swank it’s still a hard sell in the US IMO
@@ThisiscoolGAMES I'd put the build quality of this car against my Mercedes-Benz GLC AMG. I agree, Kia probably doesn't end up as a poster on the wall of teenagers. I wanted an EV for the performance. This thing is considerably quicker than my RS3 tuned on E85. It's a hoot!
@@sforry9332 I agree. I have one and the fit and finish is just as good as my BMW. It’s scary fast and I’m killing the EPA range rating. I have been taking it easy to see how much I could stretch it and driving mostly in Normal Mode with occasional blasts in GT I am getting 270-280 miles on a full charge. I don’t know how the EPA tested it, but it is capable of WAY more than 206 miles.
@@michaelc2254 my last charge was 273 with 8% remaining
Still better than anything else at that power and price ... I'd still go the ioniq 5 route though.
@hieroglyph321 : I assume you are referring to the Ioniq 5 N?
Without seeing one 'in the flesh', I really like the look of it. The Yt reviews I've seen suggest that the standard Kia EV6 is a bit better to drive than the standard Ioniq 5, but early signs suggest the Ioniq 5 N might have the edge on the EV6 GT. It will be interesting to watch progress.
@@PiefacePete46 The Kia GT was made as a GT, so fast on long straights. The Ioniq 5 N is even more special, totally different interior and exterior, more cooling for on track, more aero for downforce, more things you can customize (torque to front or rear), different interior etc etc. Albert Biermann even said it in an interview, the N is made for the track, the GT for long distance cruising,
For thr first time, it felt like Rory's being is a bit biased.
I'm in love with this model but the one I'm after is SOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!
They are amazing - I sold my f10 m5 for one - they are so good - quick and different -
Those suspensions are set like that because SUVs are inherently top heavy.. That's just physics.. They would like them to perform like a car. SUVs are not "cars". They're a bridge between minivans and trucks..
Suspension on the standard EV6 isn't that harsh plus all the weight is down low because of the battery
Hot take: manual seats >> electrical seats. Quick & easy
I can't wait for to drive the IONIQ 5N
Can't wait to order one!
I have a kia ev6 gt-line and I really don't see what use 585hp would have. The car is comfortable but the number one enemy is weight. It doesn't matter if you give me 200hp more, it's still much too heavy to attack the turns well. here in Canada the ev6 GT costs around $24,000 more with lost government rebates. I don't regret my choice of the GT-line
Completely agree that the pricing is absurd. Who would pay these full spec prices ?
Lots of people. The waiting list in the UK is 😱
@@JammyDodger45Here we go. 'Lots of people'. Really ?. No. Not in the real world. Some will. Some will cancel depending on circumstances. But 'Lots of people' - No. Only in fantasy land
It's literally half he price of a similarly spec'd Taycan you know?
@@BAC_Mono The point that was being made was that for the vast majority of drivers it's crazy money. So less than a Porsche but still way out of reach for many
Still waiting for my model Y P review?
A word of warning… I recently bought the GT (in black) and have been driving it now for 4 months. During that time I’ve accumulated numerous scratches in nearly every area of the car. The drive is great and the performance is something else, but the paint is the worst paint on a car I’ve ever had, and especially one which costs over £60k.
Don’t try to tell me that that spoiler and diffuser actually do anything 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha. The diffuser is pushing the car down onto the tyres. No mate, a ton of batteries is doing that!
With a smooth ubderbody, the diffuser probably does more than on a typical ICE car. And the spoiler does work, it is just more about aero efficiency than downforce.
@ChrisYT1812 : Of course it does... it generates comments on TH-cam review videos... any sort of public comment is free advertising! 😜
KIA would not put me off these days excellent 😊
Does the Porsche still have a warranty?
Alex: I bet you can’t use the word “fetching” more than once in the same video 😂

The cheapest Taycan is 80K and probably 90K when you have added some tech to avoid feeling cheated - half as much again as the EV6. If you get confused about two simple knobs i don't know what to tell you, i'm pretty sure most people appreciate having physical knobs to control basic functions instead relying on a tactile screen for everything.
One knob for one purpose is preferable to one knob with six purposes depending on context, sir. You don’t have to tell me anything.
Agree. I have an EV6 GT and in 6 months of ownership I think I have mistaken the mode I’m in maybe twice. Besides, you can control the radio from the steering wheel, no need to use the screen. I think it’s mainly an issue for car reviewers who always seem to find something to niggle about in their limited time with the vehicle. For owners, it’s a non-issue.

Have you considered reviewing the BMW I4 M50? I would really like to see a review on that car from you.
I test drove one. That thing really lights up the front tyres - Rory would hate it. Nice car, but I preferred the EV6 despite having had many BMWs.
@@carboresross Same for me. I have owned performance BMWs for years and I had an i4 M50 on order until I test drove the EV6 GT. It felt just as quick as the BMW, if not quicker, and I was really impressed by the fit and finish. I canceled the BMW order, bought the EV6 GT and saved about $20k. I am also crushing the EPA range rating. I love the car.
The power of modern EVs is incredible, no doubt. 0-60 times are just silly now. But it's hard to compare to true sports cars because what you don't see on the paper stats is responsiveness under braking and cornering. EVs are great in a straight line, but they're still yet to impress in terms of feeland feedback around tight and twisty sections of road where the real fun comes to play.
Yup. This thing doesn't bode well for the Hyundai ioniq5N. The way Porsche etc make heavy pigs handle, drive and ride well is with super expensive suspension. These don't have triple chamber 48v anti roll etc etc, so ride and handle like crap.
Bravo guys. Bravo.

@pigeonpoo1823 a 160k€ porsche taycan turbo s can only do one fast lap on nurburg ring until its battery overheats and goes into turtle mode, same for BMW i4 M50, Model3 perf can't even do one single lap.
You can do 3 fast laps with the EV6 GT with max poweroutput and the I5N will probably beat any "performance" EV on the EV market
@@uludak8468 look I really want to see a positive to the EV future. We may not have a choice. But high riding +2000kg vehicles are not the answer, EV or Ice.
Eg, the e208 is quicker around a track than a petrol 208. And? It drives and rides worse because of the additional 300-400kg. Basic physics. End of.
@@pigeonpoo1823 or maybe you're not skilled enough to handle EV
Nutty car considering kia,
I bet you can adjust your seat faster manually than electrically.
The Bird of Prey @ 1:06
Yea I think I’m going to buy a taycan
Rory needs to complete a further review. I cancelled my Polestar order for this car based on the Carwow review.
Kia now has there own weihsac package like porche
It weighs 2t. Hardly think the diffuser is contributing much as the battery pack is pushing the tyres into the ground. Rip michelins
Why is everyone obsessed with electric seats? They're heavy and slow. I adjusted my seats in January when I got my car and haven't touched them since. Also for the slightly slimmer driver (🤣) the bolsters fit perfectly and don't dig in to your thighs.Overall it's an incredible car, especially when you consider it's half the price of the equivalent Taycan. I agree the heating controls are a bit annoying but it's no big deal. The power is quite addictive though. Certainly for most people the regular car is probably better (and more than fast enough) but that extra grunt is nice to have. My weekend toy is a BAC Mono, and in a straight line the KIA doesn't feel at all slow, that's mental. My Porsche 997 now sits in the garage most of the time.
They don't have electric adjustments because electric adjusting seats are notoriously heavy, it's electric vehicle and they are focusing on the highest range possible, this means shedding wait where possible. The fact that 62 Grand, and has no electric adjustment seats, makes perfect sense if you actually know what you're talkin about.
Like that blacked out speck in and out. But then there’s the Hyundai Ionic 5 N. Decisions decisions🤔
For Kia. It's Kia. KIA~ so sick of it. Kia has been making great cars.
As much as awesome as the EV6 GT sounds and looks, I just want a EV6 Long Range 4WD. I just don't need that much power.
585 HP... looks like a 90s corolla that got rear ended.
What a very strange time to be alive when engineering is so amazing but car making is done by soulless businessmen.
Much rather have a stinger, EV6 is nice but Stinger just looks special
@cornpop8260 : Stinger EV? 🤔 2025!
@@PiefacePete46 That would be nice, i can't stand SUVs and the stinger is big so plenty room for a battery, dieing breed of car :(
YAWN, interesting until the price is mentioned again as usual with all these cars these days, maybe I'm just old but come on, when did average ish cars become as expensive as some houses?
I suppose cheapest house around here is £100k though so only 60% of the price lol.
Good review though as usual, maybe one day I'll be willing to buy something like that but right now I'd rather invest my money than to pXXs it away on overpriced cars.
On the price - You can't go quicker for cheaper! So yes, expensive, but good value !
Based on Golf/Focus/Mini prices the average ICE car seems to be around £30-40k. £20k more for an electric GT - maybe not too bad.
@@Simon_PieMan sounds reasonable when you say it like that, but it's still 60k which is a lot to me lol.
@@SDK2006b value is subjective , I would spend 60k on it if it could make me some money but cars are money pits not for profits.
@@FlyingFun. - a new Golf R with a similar interior spec to the EV6 GT costs £53k, and it’s still a lot slower & smaller, and doesn’t have the cheaper running costs of electric only.
The EV6 is a great car !
Personally, I would rather spend the extra cash on a more premium brand/car, than spend the extra on a performance version.
e.g. BMW iX, Audi eTron, Merc EQC
you're talking about 30-40k extra money.
@@tubejorrit - Not really. A BMW iX40 M-Sport is £70k, so only £8k more than this EV GT. Also, BMW have been doing some deals for the last 6 months on the iX40, meaning it's cheaper to lease (by £150 per month) than the EV6 GT.
@@SDK2006b Sadly we don't get cheap private leases in The Netherlands
Here in the US they're knocking 11,000 off the price of EV6s.
Seems there is a common trend with AWD EVs that have 400+ of horse power. They accelerate like rockets on a straight line but on corners they show their weaknesses and cant compete with cars like the i30N. The only thing where these cars are fun at, is to awe other drivers at traffic lights.
Mach e gt performance does it in 3.5 and it’s at 480hp plus better looking, so why would one buy this ?
