i totally agree about the soft top. i got rid of mine a year later. the sides stopped staying in and would not stay sealed. complete garbage. i am on the fence about the decked system. i have a hard top for the back now from ARE which is great, but it is a pain to get stuff out of the back.
A camper shell and decked drawer is a great setup. I have to carry a bunch of stuff for work that has to stay dry, and being able to have layers of storage makes things much easier.
I'm going to say no. The height is just not there. Most of the stuffed backpacks and carry-on luggage I've tried didn't fit. Decked makes a durable backpack that fits perfectly.
How’s the height compared to the mid level position on the tailgate? Curious if you can haul 4x8 sheets of plywood on the decked system and use the tailgate to support the load beyond the decked system.
Rig'd Supply - Ultraswing. I highly recommend it. They make 3 sizes and I have the largest. I think the medium size would have been the better fit for the gladiator.
I am considering the decked system. I like the fact you covered some of the issues you had. Not to mention the Easter egg I noticed. My only issue so far is the best way to reclaim the bed depth so I am looking are rack systems. BTW what swing-out tire carrier is that?
Thanks! Only time will tell how I miss the bed depth. The tire swing is nice but it requires the tailgate to be fully closed, which limited what I could haul within the bed anyway. The swing-out is the UltraSwing by Rig'd.
I have mixed feelings about this thing, on one hand it is well thought out and is good for keeping things organized, but on the other it seems like it takes up a lot of room and limits hauling bigger items.
Depends on what your needs are. If you need to haul big things, it definitely limits usable bed space. I’m fortunate enough to have 2 trucks, 1 is a Nissan frontier with a hard topper and decked drawers, the other is a dodge 3/4 ton with an open bed. For me both trucks have their place, it just depends on what you need.
What a huge improvement with the one large drawer and side cubbies. I might actually consider this now. Thanks for showing this.
It does seem to maximize the space compared to the last version.
Man that seems like a total assembly process to get that thing installed. Would be nice if some things came pre installed.
Great video man.
Wish the drawer had slots to install dividers into. If you don't fully pack stuff in there, it'll slide back and forth.
what brand of soft topper is that you installed

My dream setup is a canopy camper with the decked system. Something like the Go Fast Camper. What do you think?
The new gen 2 system drawer would fit to 2019 jeep wrangler jl sport 4 doors?
what about blurring that Lic plate?
Are you able to fit suitcases in there if you take the boxes out?

Why is the Gladiator drawers the same price as the fullsize 6.5' drawers?

How wide is it from wheelwell to wheelwell? I wonder if I could stick this in my Cherokee XJ? I'd just delete the sides and plywood the top. 🤔
Gotta say I like my softopper design much more than that bestop lol.
Hey. What brand of tire carrier you have? Do you recommend it?

What rear bumper and tc are they for gladiator?
The bumper is the Fab Fours Standard Rear Bumper with Rigid LED lights. The tire carrier is an Ultraswing by RIGd Supply.
I put straps, tie downs, and bungee cords in my ammo boxes.
You don't own any power tools?

I understand. I was ok retiring the title "a friend with a truck", on moving day. haha

I hate my bestop too lol
My rear window cracked after a cold snap. Not under warranty.
Sorry, I had to stop watching this video the second I saw you wearing Crocs.
Haha. Those are my All Terrain Crocs!
Hey man you can’t hate on the crocs. I’m in steel toes 12 hours a day, the crocs come out as soon as I get off work.
oh shit i'm wearing crocs watching this -- great vid thanks
Can't get any street cred wearing crocs.
