Yeah, I'm sure you can with the most powerful weapons, but to get them you have to already beat the first world. I would still count the initial hits but using time travel logic you could argue it never happened.
@@TheBlueKing4374 True. I've heard you can use glitches to skip the first world though so that might be the only way to get past it damageless. I want to keep the run glitch-free though so I wouldn't do that myself.
The only idea I have for the first midboss is maybe to try to abuse the "no enemies in sight" mechanic for the plant boss? So like position yourself a space behind a full cover block so he can't even see the rabbid to attack them, all you'd need would be honey to keep him still and have all characters "out of sight" unable to be attacked at all
I appreciate the suggestion, but in part 4 of this series, I show a way that someone already found to beat the first midboss damageless. It uses a strategy similar to what you're saying but with bounce instead of honey and hiding behind pipes instead of blocks. For whatever reason, the midboss doesn't hit characters behind pipes in range of him.
@@SuperHario-pw2zd it's abusing the line of sight, just like you can't shoot a rocket at someone behind a two wide cover block if you aren't in line with them, it won't let you target them to even attempt to shoot, midbosses and AI work the same it's just rare to make happen on purpose. The only thing that could still hit in that scenario is the grenducks cause they ignore walls and cover entirely when targeting
There is actually a glitch you can perform after beating 1-2. At peach's castle, you can clip through the ground in the desert section, and enter world 2 early. If the only hits we are forced to take in the entire game come from Rabbid Kong, then yes, it is possible to beat the game damageless if we skip his fight entirely.

Yeah, in the 4th part of the series I find a strategy to beat the midboss but never Rabbid Kong. I've heard of the skip for the later part of world 1, which makes the full game possible damageless. But personally, I don't like using glitches to skip parts of a challenge run so I still don't use it for my playthrough
I wonder if it might be possible to set up the midboss in a way where Mario's hero sight hits bounces the miniboss to somewhere where Mario is out of sight. (not out of range, that's not possible, the boss has infinite range)
That might work. I'm going to do an update for this fight in the next part because I now know the midboss won't always target a hero behind a pipe. That should at least lower the times I get hit to one instead of two.
Oh my God this mid boss fight in world 1 I was like how are you going to get no damage when you're getting damaged the best thing to do is make sure your health points don't get dropped down to zero
Theoretically yes it is possible. Even playing completely unoptimally as long as your characters are always behind some cover when they are being shot there is a 50% chance of being hit, therefore if u run the scenario enough times you will eventually achieve a run where even if every instance you were shot was 50% cover you never once get hit.
In practice, it's a lot different though. There are attacks that hit you behind cover 100% of the time, the cover is destroyed if hit enough, and enemies infinitely respawn on a lot of combats which forces you to play more aggressive
@@BarelyAlec Its an xcom clone lol, your supposed to play aggressively, defensive playstyles are almost always not optimal. That said your title merely asked if it was possible, not probable :P
Theoretically, the Midboss would have been possible with perfect rng. You need the Push Effect on Rabbid Peach under Rabbid Luigi, and the Bounce Effect on Mario. A crit from one of Mario's or Rabbid Peach's weapon deals 60 damage. A crit from Rabbid Luigi's weapon deals 55 damage. An out of bounds push (or bounce) does an additional 30 damage to each attack. Combining this, getting crits with every character AND pushing the plant out of Bounds with every hit, then using hero sight to finish it off, it should work. 2x60+55+3x30= 265, meaning 45 hp are left for Mario's Hero Sight to take care of.
I love how both rabbid peach and rabbid luigi are the worst characters in the game for this challenge but you are forced to use them at the start. All of their active abilities are useless and rabbid luigi's vamp dash is also useless.
Rabbid Peach having sentries makes her really good later, but at the start she's really bad. Rabbid Luigi might come in handy with some stone effects later in the game, but he hasn't really been useful for the first 2 worlds. The active abilities being useless is unfortunate. The shields can't even be upgraded to eventually block all damage.
@@ALTsquared So far I haven't been in a situation where I need to block a dash since I stay away from enemies. And if they get near, hero sight can stop them before they get too close.
