Good evening, I am passionate about retro in several areas and collectors of old GSM mobile phones in France 🇫🇷 and I would be interested in knowing how you did to replace the original Ni-Cd cells with 2 Nokia lithium batteries type bL5c how did you connect them together, Thank you in advance and Thank you for this superb video it brings back a lot of memories I had it with the operator itineris in France 🇫🇷

Thank you. Yes when I dismantled the battery first time to remove the original cells, I was careful because there was black tar like stuff. But I managed to take it off and cut the old cells out with ply cutters. I took the old ni-cads out without damaging the battery case. Then I cleaned all the inside with 99.9% IPA. I got 2 bl5c 1500mAh. The original nokia bl5c are only 1020mAh. Also there is alot of fakes for sale online. I used xhdata bl5c 1500mAh. I stuck 2 together and soldered a jumper wire from 1 battery to the other, positive to negative, and then soldered the red to positive on the top battery, and black to negative on bottom battery. Then I soldered the wires to negative and positive on the charging terminals in the battery. It still charges up. Thanks.
