I’m never going to recover from how phenomenal this title track is. They absolutely brought out every vocal and visual attack, and you can feel their emotion in this song. 1000/10. Chefs kiss. Stunning. Amazing.
Going from that delicate Jiu-led pre-chorus into that high intensity chorus is actually OD. Like it would be considered a crime punishable with prison time it's so good
Dreamcatcher is a different level and I'm really happy to see something that shows off everyone's voices and range
Just a tidbit, Leez contract has ended and he's with another label now helping a new group produce songs. Meanwhile, DC brought in like an additional 2-3 other producers on board, in addition to Ollounder and Maddox. What an epic comeback. All of their songs on this album are this good. You'll love it.
I'm not sure if Lee Soo-Min (LEEZ) was ever under a long-term contract with Dreamcatcher Company, but he and Oh Jong-hoon (Ollounder) basically ran the show together from debut on (The only two previous title tracks he wasn't involved with were "Fly High" and "What"). With Kim Jong-Hwan (Eden), LEEZ and Ollounder also contributed substantially to ATEEZ' music over the last few years. LEEZ has taken the Creative Director position at Hi-Hat Entertainment (an exclusive contract), a similar role to what Jaden Jeong did with LOONA in the early years. It's a big career step for LEEZ - taking on more responsibility and having total control over the sound and presentation of Hi-Hat's new groups. For Dreamcatcher, Ollounder has brought in more of his other colleagues from the Edenary composition team, so like in "Bon Voyage" I think we'll see some subtle shifts from the signature sound that we've become accustomed to while retaining all the best elements that make their music so unique.
It's Ollounder's turn and he went back to basics. 2017 Dreamcatcher. Also Eden has combined two of his teams (Eden and 13) to make a new Dreamcatcher team, after Leez moved on. So the new PD is Door from the 13 Team. 13 has produced for LeSserafim and GFriend. He's also produced for Rocket Punch. Also Maddox, Buddy, Oliv and Pepperoni from Edenary have stepped up their game after A:SU. In short, Leez made sure to leave good PDs in his place.
@@roseblue_ It was very telling that when the news of LEEZ taking the position at Hi-Hat was announced, Ollounder, Hwang Sooyeon, and other colleagues posted congratulations on their Instagrams - LEEZ's departure was amicable and probably planned for well in advance. And as much as I loved his contributions to Dreamcatcher, I can't fault him one bit for wanting to take the next step in his career.
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break, just like it can be good in a relationship to not be together all the time. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a seed.
That leads my dark mind to believe that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on the way of wiping ourselves out. I could of course be wrong. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as humanity, not as a single person. And they are talking to nature, confessing their love (and also regret).
I can also imagine they are building an ark to take plants and animals to another planet. It would make sense with quite a lot of the scenes in the MV.
As you can see, my theory is not yet perfect. I also do not know why all three titles are in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!

This track hits so good. So so good. It's new yet familiar. Delicate yet steadfast.

They are World-Class professionals, which is why fans keep telling other people that this group is under-rated (especially in Korea). They deserve SO MUCH more recognition and praise than what they have been given so far.

That fluffy floating creature is probably Siyeon. She sacrificed herself to protect Sua (Suayeon❤️🔥), so in the scene where all 7 of them walking forward, Siyeon eventually stopped walking and the fluffy creature accompany the members for her😭
Sua escaping from the exposed building without Siyeon proves this point. Also the scene Siyeon sitting in a not moving car is also a hint showing she is unable to continue the journey with the other members😢 But she's still smiling because she doesn't regret saving her love ones😭😭😭😭
It's an interesting theory, but...
At 0:46 in the MV we see both the fluffy creature and Siyeon at the same time. I've heard, but it has not yet been confirmed, that it is supposed to be a seed of some kind.
@@keithcraig506 Yeah I mean, the seed (or some said it's a cell) has a new, reborn image, and that could explain the lyrics "Even if we're a little apart, we're together", It's like Siyeon had left "hope" (the cell) as her new identity (reborn). So maybe it's not the seed=Siyeon, but the seed=the "hope" Siyeon reamined
that also explains why in the second chorus Siyeon is climbing up to infinite stairs. it’s like the scene in Soul (pixar film) where the soul of dead people go.
This song gives me Anime opening vibes, along with many other songs of theirs. So good!!!

I could absolutely be wrong, and I KNOW nothing, but I definitely FEEL like "BonVoyage" began life in a world where the Dreamcatcher members didn't renew their contracts. It FEELS like a "farewell" song, with so many references to past titles and lyrics that point to phrases the members have said over the years (such as "we live under the same sky"). And of course, the title "Bon Voyage" itself and wishing InSomnias a good life in the future even if we're no longer together.
BUT... when the members DID renew, it was too good a song to just throw out. So maybe the lyrics were reworked to conclude the Apocalypse arc, but not with the finality of a disbandment song. But just that tiny glimpse into the world where this was the last Dreamcatcher song we ever got - even knowing that the members are going to stay together for years to come, makes it all the more bittersweet and devastating with each listen.
I agree, it really feels like a 'goodbye'-type song. I am SO GLAD they all renewed! :)
@@jamescurfman3284 Siyeon's last line "Say hi and hug the tomorrow that will unfold for you" makes me tear up every single time. It's like for JUST that moment, I merge with the me that is seeing their last moments, and I can't handle it. Even though I KNOW they're going to be with us for years to come…
The fluffy floating thing is actually a cell, Sua said in a Vlive and insomnicsy has a video about it. But if you want to know more about the message behind Bon Voyage, please wait for the upcoming video of Bookish Theories! ^^

The floating pod/cell , concept wise probably represents the heart of nature/earth/seed of life. Theory wise people seem to think its Siyeon because they think she sacrificed herself protecting SuA which makes sense but only if you disregard alot of elements from the MV.
Personally i think it represents InSomnia always being there with them, no matter what they do or where they go, like the "8th member" of the group.
