A theory that's been floating around dreamcatcher comments has been that the three songs in the dystopia set of songs (scream, boca, odd eye) are symbolic of "hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil". All three of the videos were set in different time frames (a more medival setting, modern street, and cyber futuristic). When it says that they never found the utopia they dreamed of, it means that no matter where/when, despite how "sophisticated" the world becomes, the world never becomes a perfect utopia because hate always finds new ways to spread.

Yep this is exactly what I wanted to say. And the lyrics say they thought they found the utopia but they were deceived. I wonder if that means they didn't see the evil so that's how they were tricked?
And at the start Yoohyeon is sitting on a chair that looks like the mask from Scream. So I wonder if she saw "behind the mask" and that's why she's just sitting there like she's in shock because she found out there was no hope.
@@ChocolateTeapot93 i hope the 'no hope' will carry over as 'then we must fight for as long as we live' rather than give up completely. Otherwise it becomes really grim lol. The best way to go about this (i think) is to tell story as there is no hope of finding Utopia on it's own and it means the hate will always fester so we may need to fight it for eternity but it's worth it if we don't want to succumb to it
@@ChocolateTeapot93 Yeah I loved the appearance of the mask as the chair! This video also spoke to me about a lot of the digital landscape nowadays. Where boca was about hateful words, this to me more speaks about the internet being a highlight reel of people's lives. The perfect picture sells the hope of utopia but it's a lie (like ads selling a lifestyle and influencer culture as a whole). Instead of external hate, it risks creating internal hate (handong with her hands on the throat of her reflection).

This is how we know that Dreamcatcher is real art. Discussions and opinions abound, what is the meaning? Each can find their own meaning as well... Not many groups can pull this off in a credible manner, we are talking about BTS territory here (no, not comparing the two, just saying that both produce art that is enthralling, don't be triggered, army-I love you!).

in Scream, the tree of language is corrupted by bad words and DC is attacked by those words.
In BOCA DC attempts to purify the tree of language by shutting the mouths of those who are speaking bad words.
Arguably in Odd Eye DC finds out that trying to do a complete purification (a Utopia where no bad words exist) is not something that reflects reality - in fact you could be blinded by seeking such idealism. Utopia with no bad words isn't something you can achieve. The tree of language is what it is - good words and bad, and that's reality.
Scream is hear no evil, boca is speak no evil, and I think Odd Eye is see no evil
the trilogy represents not only hearing, speaking and seeing but also the past the present ad the future

Here’s my theory that I already commented in other two videos lol:
Odd Eye is connected to Scream and Boca.
I see a lot of references to The Matrix and it makes sense. Like the girls thought they found their utopia but it was all fake and when Yoohyeon drank the red liquid everything started to crumble and fall appart, they’re opening their eyes, kinda like taking the red pill in The Matrix. Another indication that it was fake was the tree being connected to all of those cables, but they’re being lied to by the fake utopia hence the poster with the tree where it says “Reality”.
The way it connects to Scream and Boca I think is about the same topic of online hate and media, that’s why they’re shown with phones, surrounded by tvs, computers, etc. Online media sometimes tries to create this fake sense of happiness and utopia but reality is far from it.
This is just my theory tho!

Am a JiYoo bias, and Yoohyeon who is already my bias, is bias wrecking me even more.
Social Media.(On their phones). We all 'drink' it in, (Yoohyeon), believing what is fed to us. But it is an illusion. (Odd eye), it shows us one thing, but behind the scenes its something totally different. Like a 'faker' that says they love us, but talks hate behind our back, (the walls melting, from their hateful comments.) The Utopia that is shown, doesn't exist. It's like a mask that everyone wears. So in the end, they couldn't find what they were searching for.
Notice the date on Gahyeon's computer screen, it is April 08 2099. Things have gotten bad enough, that it looks like their trying to give life support to the Tree to keep it alive.

another masterpiece. They are coming to slay. It’s a bop.The lyrics are deep, as usual for a Dreamcatcher song. Catchy too. This is going to be another multi time watch/listen. Their is so much going on- the story being told, the choreo, the girls slaying it with the visuals. I already have the chorus stuck in my head.
Handong just makes the song sound complete (just like OT7 Scream, Boca and Black or White do). SuA wreaking me as usual. Siyeon and Dami owning me as they usually do as my biases. Yoohyeon, JiU, Handong and Gahyeon killed it too. They will all wreak you in their own ways.

I loved this. I had to watch them perform this to figure out who was singing when during certain parts as they switched off a lot. I loved how they switched up who sang what parts during each chorus. They definitely tried to give us as much Handong as possible!

I think this song brain melted everyone the first time the listened to it/watched the MV. I had to listen to it a couple times before my brain could catch up, lol. Overwhelmed in all the good ways!
My understanding is there’s no such thing as a perfect Utopia and that’s why at the end it says they can’t find it.
I think this MV wraps up all three MV in one, the beginning Yoohyeon is sitting and hiding behind the mask chair.

The computers, tv and cellphone symbolizes we are reading and seeing things that are simply not true. The lies, deception and hidden agendas from people to spread hate and criticize (Scream)

Okay so I’m not aware at all about the theories, but there’s what I personally gathered from this video.
So the first important thing is the presence of computers/TVs/phones everywhere, it is part of their life, just like ours. It is the source of all the lies and hate. Even the tree which was in the previous MVs seems to be fake in this one.
The scene with Yoohyeon and the drink makes me think of like a “bad awareness”, because as soon as she drinks, she has two different eyes... Those eyes help them to see that the world isn’t all positive and you can’t ignore the bad things happening, letting the victims alone (hence the “no more utopia”, not wanting to ignore those in need). But these eyes are called “odd eyes”, they seem weird to other people and the girls probably get bullied for their difference, which is seeing the suffer of some people, and not believing this world of lies.
That’s my theory tho, not sure that it makes any sense :)
