The Dire Wolf collects his due, while the boys sing 'round the fire... I've always LUVed that imagery... The band was crackling with energy back then... Good times...
i was there too! :) it was a good show and i was there with a friend of mine...he and i have matching tattoo's ...it was actually a wild show in terms of finding my way down from the upper grassy area to the car...i will never forget it :) loved shoreline...perfect dead venue :)
89 was incredible summer for Rock and Roll Tours (on the East Coast) Grateful Dead, The Who, Stones, Tom Petty, Kinks, Jefferson Airplane reunion. Grateful Dead was the last concert at JFK stadium (Phila) before it was condemned...sadly Brent didn't last much longer.
I think he was already out of his come; From Wiki;Later in life, Garcia was sometimes ill because of his unstable weight, and in 1986 went into a diabetic coma that nearly cost him his life. Although his overall health improved somewhat after that, he also struggled with heroin addiction,[3][4] and was staying in a California drug rehabilitation facility when he died of a heart attack in August 1995.[2][4]
Yes the video captures a West Coast event, and I wrote about what happened on the East Coast a few weeks later (events being somewhat linked by a common thread of 1989 Grateful Dead shows) is that ok?

0:06 It sounds like Jerry thought they were playing Tennessee Jed then quickly remembered "DIRE WOLF!"
