I really appreciate your taking the time to explain everything and share your experiences. I’m a beginner and certainly gained from your knowledge and comments. Thanks
YM. An absolutely superb build. Agree about MR color paints, I think they are the worst smelling I have come across. On the issue of space for a spray booth have you looked at the ones that recirculate therefore no hoses and so far more portable and easier to stash away. Just a thought to keep you safe.
While acrylic paints may smell bad, the odor doesn't hurt you the way other solvents do so no mask is necessary. A recirculating spray booth would certainly help with the stink.
i have the windows open and a fan blowing the fumes outside i also have a proper face mask with the side vents that i use to stop breathing all fumes not the best but its my method
You've convinced me -- I have to have this kit. I love early Wildcats and the yeoman's job they did at Guadalcanal and Midway. The kit is lovely and you have brought out the detail beautifully. Cheers!
could be blocked at the nozzel i had similar and bought a ultrasonic cleaner and that sorted it only takes a tiny bit of dried paint to block the nozzel
Na then Cocker, it really does look like a nice kit and fits together well. Well painted and well detailed, do you think in hindsight that painting the stripes on the rudder may have been the better option? Anyway Great build...
Fantastic build! I loved your weathering. Did you use in any clear coats after your initial coat of paint or after your weathering? Liked and subscribed!
after i painted the aircraft i added a gloss clear cote i then put the decals on and added gloss over the decals to "seal" them once pinwash was completed i did a overall flat matt finish to allow the oils better grip when using them hope that helps
think it turned out quite good ps i am not night shift or one of the other top model makers i just do it for fun and when i have time due to work commitments ect thanks for the comments and have a good new year
Absolutely stunning Wildcat your skills as a modeller inspire me to try become a better modeler Congratulations Sir she is a beauty 👍
Thanks and she is certainly one of my better builds
Very nice stunning F4F-4 Wildcat fighter aircraft plane besides the F6F Hellcat too. Nice model i like that so far
always loved the wildcat and though some people think its ugly due to the fat belly on it i personally think it looks great

That is a great build of the Eduard wildcat, looks stunning, brilliant
Thanks and i am well chuffed with it
The most dangerous weapon on an airplane a nice clean, clear canopy. Real nice build!
Thanks 👍

Honestly no I haven't but I am now you have mentioned them
Thanks for mentioning that 😃

@@randytaylor1258 i have been looking at portable spray booths but they aint cheap so will have to wait a while till i get one
Lovely kit there and you have you done a smashing job of it too!
Cheers I loved building it 😁
Mr. Color are full lacquers. So is Mr. Surfacer. Got to have some kind of ventilation to the outside.

awesome result! beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Great job! 🤟🏻🔥
thanks
Beautiful work, as always. I wish I could get my cordless/hoseless airbrush to work. Air blows out, but the best I get is little baby paint bubbles 🙁.
could be blocked at the nozzel
i had similar and bought a ultrasonic cleaner and that sorted it
only takes a tiny bit of dried paint to block the nozzel
So beautiful! 🤩
Thanks
Nicely done
Thanks!

@yorkshiremanmodels I've just paid 49 quid for year, which saves a bit plus got a free model and binder which ain't bad cause model about 20 quid

probably would have been better to paint them

Lovely. =)

That is very helpful! Thank you
No doubt a very nice build, but most of the fine detail work will never be seen. Kind of like painting the inside of a wall
haha your right there
think most model makers are the same in covering up detailed work
Nice model, but the propeller didn't turn out very well. There's also a bit of a lack of final weathering, which makes it look like a toy
think it turned out quite good

@@yorkshiremanmodels ok:) happy modelling :) And happy New Year!!!
I think the criticism is harsh - the end result is excellent!
