Helping AFE survivor & cardiac arrest survivor and their family with free cleaning (Part 2)

- I am helping this family of 6 by cleaning their home for free after years of neglect due to the after effects of some health complications and bankruptcy. In 2014, after giving birth to her youngest child, Mom had an amniotic fluid embolism (AFE) and nearly died from this rare complication. She went into a coma and had some anoxic brain damage. Some of the long-term effects of this include neurologic impairment, memory loss, emotional and psychological effects, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Because of this, it has been difficult for her to manage day to day things like she used to and Dad had to try to pick up the slack, but when he had a mitral valve prolapse and went into cardiac arrest in December 2021, he, too, had long-term effects from this, causing things to become even harder to manage around the house. They have many other challenges as well so, when they reached out for help, I was more than happy to give them a hand with getting things back under control.

I can empathize with this family and what they’ve been going through. I was diagnosed at 18 with MVP, then at 44 with cardiomyopathy (heart failure). At 55 I had a life saving heart transplant and now 5 1/2 years later I’m still “recovering” from the after effects of surgery, specifically cognitive issues. My memory is awful and my organization and cleaning skills have suffered but I am working through it. This mom is not alone!

That fan, and those under cabinets remind me so much of what I had in my home before! That fan area was ridiculous! It was grungy and impossible to clean. Now I have a different set up! Great work! ❤
Being in survival mode means everything but keeping yourself and your family alive. Everything else can seem exhausting and overwhelming. I'm glad this family had you to help.

Back when my sweet bunny was alive, it was so much work to keep his pellets, poop, hay, bedding cleaned up in the kitchen. I wouldn’t have had it any other way with him in the kitchen area because buns are very social intelligent creatures. Plus I really enjoyed his company too as much as he enjoyed mine. Seeing their pigs brought back some good memories, i can still smell his hay.

I love this so much! That's so sweet of you to do your part in helping the algorithm. I try to do the same thing while I'm cleaning houses, just have my favorite cleaning channels on in the background and listen to them while I'm cleaning. I'm with you on Grandma Sycamore's! I kind of try not to buy it because I know I will end up eating more of it than I should. Probably not the healthiest, but it sure is delicious! I can't say I have ever had a Morrison meat pie.

I have indoor three cats at my home. I working 10 hours at Amazon. My cats never leave on my mind. Best “gift” of mess from my cats I wants to clean up. Because many times I working with people sending boxes. That’s human. That’s why I loves cat mess.

Incredible job hon. I can relate to that thought process. Getting to 6 decades has increased it big time. Smh. I can’t treat my adhd due to my epilepsy. Little late in life as gpa would say. He passed 8 months ago from third with colon cancer. We been living here with him for last 7 yrs. He operated a wood repairing, restoration, refinishing, restoring flood damage molded furniture from hurricane Harvey and Ike. Needless to say his work was outstanding. Now we have tons of expensive wood species and tools. Overwhelming is an understatement. Plus they lived here since 1969. Our goal is to deal with this so we don’t leave it for our own kids to deal with. I never dealt with grief. Depression is real. We shut down. We isolate ourselves to decompress. I just so appreciate how you and Midwest majic guy understand all these different mental health issues. It confirms we are not crazy. Hugs sweetheart onto the next video lol. Oh ya peroxide works on tile grout so does Bar Keepers Friend. Also for mold and mildew. I used straight bleach in shower it was still there after bleach soak. I rinsed it off, got the peroxide and honey I watched it disappear before my eyes. It was in the wind sill area. So I was standing up on side of tub. We have shower head. But ya peroxide dissolved or did something to it cuz mildew/ mold was gone. Hehehe 🥳💕🥰💯❤️ P.S. sorry I ramble lol brain goes faster than I can speak write or type lol. Talking bout bullet I knew someone swallowed toothpick smh yes he had to have surgery
Oh my goodness, that does sound overwhelming! That's very cool, though, that he could restore stuff like that. I'm sure it was much appreciated by those whom he restored those for. And, isn't that crazy about bleach and mold? I actually first heard that it can make the problem worse from Mack, and, sure enough, there are a lot of articles out there about that very thing. But, yes, hydrogen peroxide is another great one for mold. Glad to know it worked for you. And, ouch, a toothpick?! That sounds pretty scary, actually.

I am OCD about clean floors and having a clean organized home especially the kitchen. I have realized my through counseling that my obsessive tendencies are the result of childhood experiences. Your patience and understanding of what people have gone through and are going through is amazing. Enjoying this video, you're such a great person to help them out. With the various issues the parents are dealing with would it be helpful to give them some chore/cleaning schedules? It might help them if they all can do 2-3 things daily and teach the kids to help if they are old enough - the guinea pigs look well taken care of so I think the kids could be a lot of help 😊
You have the right idea! I'm pleased to report that she actually has been creating some new habits now that things are a bit more manageable. They have a routine with their dishes in the morning now to where they put them straight in the dishwasher rather than letting them pile up throughout the day and there were also a couple other routines that she mentioned they are now doing. I think the biggest task was just getting through all the junk that had piled up, but now that most of that is done, I have high hopes that they will stay on top of it! The kids are also cleaning out the guinea pigs' cage weekly. They are doing great!

I think that all you guys that clean for free are amazing. You tackle some of the messiest homes. I wish there was a way that social services could get involved to help with aftercare so that they don't have to let it get to that point again. Thus seems to be a prevalent problem everywhere.
I know. I wish there was a better answer for this problem. Part of the issue is that these people usually are too ashamed to ask for help when it's become this bad, so their options are limited if no one is even aware of the problem. And then things just get worse and worse. I'm happy to be part of the solution, but it's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm happy to see more and more channels popping up like this, helping people in similar situations and bringing awareness to this issue because I think it helps others struggling to not feel so alone and maybe they will reach out for help if they know they aren't the only ones struggling.

Krud Cutter is amazing on getting rid of grease around the stovetop!! You did an amazing job and so did the homeowner! 👏👏👏
I haven't tried that one yet. I'm currently trying out Dirtex at the recommendation of a couple of people, but I like to try all kinds of products to see what I like the best. Sometimes the homeowner will have a different product that I'll try out so I don't have to buy a whole bottle to test it. I'm sure I'll get around to testing out some Krud Cutter!
@@ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp When you spray it on you can immediately see the grease start to drip. I use it on the backsplash behind my stove and even though it might look clean, after I spray on Krud Kutter I can see the grease!
Appreciate you naming and linking your products. One thing I really like, and if you watch Jamie's Journey, she actually holds her container up to the camera long enough, so you can see the product see what the canister looks like which is very, very helpful. I wish cleaners would do that with mops, vacuums and that sort of product as well. Enjoy your videos!

Hi, I just wondered why the parrot couldn't have been moved to another room or a sheet put over his cage while you are cleaning to keep him safe. That oven hood would have been easier to clean with oven cleaner. Thanks, great job!
He probably could have, but I also took it as a challenge to clean without all the heavy chemicals just to show it can be done. But, you're right, the oven hood would have been a lot easier to clean with oven cleaner! I was impressed with how well it worked on the actual oven though.

As far as the filter screen for the fan above the stove..you could soak it in oxyclean and water for awhile..it’ll come right off with little effort scrubbing!

Overhead cleaning, like the under range hood, is tough on the arms. It seems as if you need twice the strength to scrub “up” versus “down.”
