    My orthodontist extracted because it made it easy for him and to get my money. He did not care about how it would affect my facial structure and breathing. Can I sue? It makes it worse when you have parents who have no knowledge of any of this and blindly agree with the doctors. My face isn't too bad but it's not fully grown to its potential and I know it's because someone messed with my teeth and jaw. Anyway, please make a video on steps to take for people with extractions. What do you recommend and how does tongue posture apply to us?

    I guess I'm a case where extractions have helped? Is that a sin to say? Here's my story:
    I had baddddddd protrusion though. I fell on my face before my adult teeth came out , they got impacted for years and needed surgery. My top teeth literally decided to grow horizontal to the ground, the chewing surface was visible from the front it was rotated so weirdly. My bite was open beyond belief, my whole tongue could come out of my front with my molars touching lol. Closed lips? Forget it. My top lip shrunk considerably because the waiting list for NHS braces was ages. Clinics refused to do it for me, I was waiting to get it done at the hospital. I had a team of 3 orthodontists.
    I got 4 extractions and it helped a lot???? I no longer look like an orangutan, I could close my lips easily and everything got pushed back. 'sinking in' looked better for me because I was too pushed out (plus I have very full lips, I didn't notice any bad changes in lip profile, just good ones). My face even got _fuller_ . I had a narrow long chin, I still do , it's genetic (had it before dental problems, my dad and brother have it too) but it's now more rounded and proportional in the cheek area.
    But I didn't wear my retainer for the last few years and my top arch has started to pull apart again, I cant close my lips again lol. I'm gonna wear braces again. It worked for me, so idk. I feel like I'm gas lighting myself researching how bad extractions are, it even made me cry for doing it.
    But then I see pictures of myself as a kid and I'm like...well it looks wayy better ????
    My TMJ has even gone away. My jaw popped every time I ate as a child, I could barely open wide. I was afraid of swallowing, my whole mouth felt tense when I tried to, I was thrusting all over the place with my tongue. All of those issues, gone. I don't snore. I can breath through my nose just fine.
    Am I lucky? Am I a case of extractions done right? idk anymore. The internet is telling me I'll age like an old sock ffs

      @DJAZfake 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think it’s more of the case itself. I’ll try to illustrate it.
      What Mike Mew is saying is: there are patients with incisors like this | (straight downwards) who get extractions and end up like this / (inclined backwards and with intrusive lips). That makes your face look flatter and older.
      But he forgot to say that there are cases where the teeth are like this \ (inclined forwards with protruding lips) who get extractions and get straight teeth, and it’s beneficial especially to your lip competence and your chin, which looks more forwardly-grown,

      go for a second opinion with an airway focused orthodontist. You can always reverse it later. Good health is a combination of factors, balance with healthy diet and lifestyle and you should be fine for a long time. I have seen perfect faces and teeth utterly wrecked by poor lifestyle choices or accidents. Such is life. Also I should mention I have family who had 8 normal teeth removed and are healthy, very fit and in very good professions. Ideally they should have had growth modification early on, but has it really had an effect on QoL?

      Once the palate expands, there will be room for the wisdom teeth. We are meant to keep all our teeths.

    • @madzaread
      @madzaread 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      People please do not say we are meant to keep our wisdom teeth 😑 look up “vestigial evolutionary teeth” and you will find we have no use for wisdom teeth and they are an unfortunate evolutionary left over - much like hip bones in whales. Yes, wisdom teeth can be left in if that person finds them comfortable and they are situated correctly, however, if someone is experiencing problems they need to be removed so as not to risk the health of the molar. In fact, many people have no wisdom teeth due to evolution and this is the correct functional teeth number.

      Honestly wisdom teeth is iffy. if you can expand your pallets before they become a problem so they can come in nicely then yeah. If they are impacted remove them as soon as possible. You can always use a palate expander after surgery later on probably. If your wisdom teeth aren't impacted see if you can expand your mouth so they come in good that or so they never both you.

    • @deltadelta9042
      @deltadelta9042 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rosie Xo palatal expander can help your jaw expand a few millimeters to fix an overbite.
      Before getting teeth extracted make sure you really do need them, check with other orthodontics. If you have crowding and a bad overbite you might need them. If you do need extractions and don't want extractions your only other option is jaw surgery to expand the jaw.
