@likexbread Actually no Asians speak Chinese. Chinese is a nationality not a language. They likely speak either Mandarin or Cantonese - there are MANY other dialects.

I love those salted egg yolk cookies!🥚My Costco has so much Asian food it even has Swallow's Nest Soup ($80 for two servings/bowls) 😳 I did some research on how it's made, and don't think I'll ever try it, as I don't eat meat... however, this soup has a very interesting history, preparation methodology and medicinal claims - including (among other things) the claim that it's an aphrodisiac. The internet told me this soup is considered to be the "Caviar of the East" and one of the world's most expensive foods....amazing what you can find at Costco...from caskets to caviar!

I just bought your cookbook and I LOVE IT! You have so much good information on just the ingredients alone. I never knew that there was a Chinese version of sesame paste (like my beloved tahina in Israel). Now there are so many new foods that I can't wait to try!
I LOVE all of these things but the brown sugar boba Ice cream bars are to die for! The boba is actually boba and not weird jelly that you find in the canned boba drinks. And somehow it’s perfect and chewy and not hard and gross. Is amazing. Plus you get 3 boxes(inside the big box) for cheaper than one individual box you get at the Asian market
I really wish there was an Asian market or even a Costco close to where I live. We have one grocery store in my town. And they don’t even have ginger. Just the jar stuff.

Imagine my surprise when I tried halvah and discovered it was nearly exactly like this Chinese sesame nougat candy I always ate as a kid!
