      you can eat basically any part of an animal if you want to unless it’s poisonous. well, i guess you could eat a poisonous part too, but only once.

    In North Eastern Thai we have a dish called “ยำ/ลาบผ้าขี่ริว” (sorry if I didn’t write it correctly I’m not good at Thai😂). Which translate to cow stomach spicy salad, it’s got spicy, sour, sweet, savory flavor. Seeing cow stomach and salmon rice seems like an interesting combo I want to try it someday 😆

    My mom is Japanese and she also marinates the salmon with only salt and sake. Though instead of 15 minutes, she marinates it overnight, but I think that's because she cooks it in an oven. Pretty interesting...will definately try pan frying next time!!!

    Japanese have a similar dish called Ochazuke which uses green tea instead of oolong. A good oolong tastes very rich and flavorful so I'm sure your meal tastes amazing.

    For those curious it's a very fancy version of お茶漬け ocha-zuke. You can buy specific seasoning packets for basically the Japanese version of instant oatmeal haha. Just add leftover rice and water/tea.
    There is also an even lazier hack I learned from college students when I was studying abroad, just buy a convenience store riceball and add add hot tea. It falls apart and meal done! Haha

    Cow stomach is also called tripe. A Vietnamese place i like in chinatown uses it in Pho but they dont use it in the place closer to my house 😢 its actually one of my favorite parts in the pho i pick all the time. Tripe, tendon and all that stuff

    Man I’ve had cows stomach so many times and I just can’t get myself to like it. I’ve had it in Chinese, Mexican, and Vietnamese dishes, but I just can’t move past the texture. I’m not a picky person what so ever so I’m not sure why the texture messes me up so much.

      If you simmer it long enough it gets soft and loses the hard crunch 😊 I prefer it soft

    As Japanese I recommend you to use dashi soup instead of just tea and soy source. It'll have more depth in taste for sure 😃 but if you don't have it this also can I guess?

    I’m Chinese American and I am so thankful for you. My grandparents are too old to teach me recipes now. Growing up I was so busy pushing my Chinese heritage to the side to assimilate to the American culture that I never appreciated all these amazing recipes till it’s too late.
