How is Costco's grocery prices compared to places like save-on or no frills? I've been thinking about getting a membership but don't know if it's worth it cus I got no car so only possible to do delivery 😂
I am in Montana and we actually have most of these except for the CNY stuff. I was impressed when we first moved here. I joked with my wife we are probably the most Asian household in the whole state.
I live in Hawaii. I would say we are lvl 4 lol so much asian food options. We even havd fresh sashimi, poke and made fresh sushi counter in the middle of the store with free samples 😂. I saw all the CNY stuff and looked at it.... even the awesome looking glass dragon filled with alcohal to give as a gift. I really wanted it for decoration.
@Justinlocz I mean we make a huge percent of the population in Hawaii and we are used to consuming a lot of different Asian food so our costco reflects that 100%
@Bobobrain194 Hawaii is doing okay, cost of living is expensive and we have an increase in criminal activity around us due to how expensive the island is and desperation. Maui is slowly recovering. Those turtle chips are amazing was the understatement of the year. These turtle chips are life. Be carful tho I got hooked and had to go to rehab. Also I live in a mostly Hispanic area, they even speak Spanish at the Asian market down the street, and we have all that stuff too

How times have changed. In the early 90s I lived in Panama City Beach FL. I never saw a Costco I shopped at Winn Dixie. Was craving kimchee. To my surprise there was one jar on the shelf but the lid was rusted. When I went to California for a visit I was able to get kimchee and more.

Costco in Cleveland is top level Asian according to this video. I bought that box of fish soup, enjoy the bibigo, have seen kimchi there, as well as many varieties of ramen. I think possibly the only reason it isn't more intensely Asian is because the Asian food markets here are very cheap, and so Costco has a challenge to keep price parity to fulfill this niche.
Wooow, I didn’t know just how Asian Costco could get. East coast NEVER gets anything nearly as close. We’re always forgotten haha. We’re lucky to get pocky and panda snacks.
Asian items didn’t start popping up more regularly at my Costco until after the Korean K-pop craze hit, and I live in a predominately Asian community. America loves to show love to East Asians but forget that South East Asians are Asians too.
We have a lot of the Asian stuff here in Costco, but something to do with importation makes it more expensive than I'm willing to spend for most of it.
I was shocked to see Birds Nest on the regular at my Costco. Next thing ya know they'll go level 5 and have Durian/Balut the foods thatll push everyone else away
In CA we also have specialized Asian stores, just got to know where to look/shop. 99 ranch, Hmart, and your good old mom and pop supermarkets all exist here.
No Costco in my neck of the woods and we actually have slightly higher than average Asian population compared to the rest of the city. Although Costco does look tempting, I'd rather support my local less than a mile from my house family owned Asian grocery stores ❤
Are you in Western Washington or Eastern Washington. I've seen some of these in a Costco in Western Washington, but it is only between a level 1 and 2 from my limited experience looking for that kind of stuff.
Which Costco? Because I shop for Instacart at Everett, Lynnwood, Shoreline, Kirkland, Redmond Costco and we have lots of Asian and Indian products at those stores.
I think mine is a 2.5 they have about half of the level 3 items, are missing some of level 2 but there's always a sprinkling of Asian people. Ive gotten stuff off of high shelves for several tiny Asian grandmas.
