This is the video I was looking for years!!! Every one focus on teach us how to map but forgot to teach what I think is one of the most important thing, the actual projector set up. Thanks for this awesome video.
When I see a Luma Box video I click. This holiday display is beyond beautiful. I would love to see a walk-through in After Effects on how you build a project like this. I guess I’m more intrigued by your thought process.
@@LumaBox , well, I would be in the category that would find it not boring. I consider my videos, very “cheesy” but yet there are some people that like them so that makes me happy. Your videos are a definite art form, and your animations are always extremely fascinating and beautiful to look at. You have a tremendous gift and I appreciate you sharing it.
Hello, how are you?. Thank you for the videos, they are very informative and engaging. I have a question, I have just started to learn projection mapping, do I have to learn additional softwares like Adobe After effects to create an animation ? (as an example, a car bursting out of a wall and the bricks flying everywhere). Does Mad Mapper have that feature? Thank you :)
Hi, no MadMapper doesn't have the ability to do animation like that. You definitely want to look into something like After Effects but based on what you described (bricks flying etc) maybe you'll even want to start learning 3D like Blender (which is free and there are lots of tutorials out there). After Effects can do some VFX stuff like that but it excels at 2D, motion graphics stuff.
I was wondering about keeping the projector safe. Do you just have the stuff standing in the front yard and just hope nobody takes it? Are you staying outside with the stuff?
There are some suitable models you can browse here www.lumabox.com/house-mapping/kit/ The prices fluctuate but there are several under 1000USD I believe
Hello, can you recommend a good software. I am using after effects right now.... and if it is After Effects, is video an appropriate way to output it? Thank you.
hi thanks a lot for your videos but what if i want play my video on three or four screen at the same time like immersive room which better software can doing this for my video?
This method isn't very good for that. You should look into proper projection mapping software that's good for dealing with multiple outputs (like projectors or screens). I'd recommend MadMapper
Hmm I don't have any experience of wireless projectors. I'd be sceptical that you will get the same kind of specs (mainly brightness) you'd need to get results on a house that compare with cabled projectors.
Thanks for the video. BUT, I had a problem. I use Shotcut for my video editing. After using the House Mapper from Digital Pressworks my Shotcut immediately hung up while loading plugins and would not finish its boot up. I tried removing and re-installing Shotcut... no better. I Tried an earlier version of Shotcut... Same trouble. I rebooted my laptop. Nope. I removed the House Mapper and rebooted the laptop. YES!!! So there was something going on after using the House Mapper.
Hi Luma! I was wondering, is there a way that you recomend doing mapping on an curtain theater? I was looking for a software but all of them are so expensive
I've started watching your videos because I'm trying to learn how to do projection mapping for Halloween. I have a medium brown house, so I know i need at least 4000 lumens. But what is a good projector to get. My house is roughly 2000 sq feet, so not very big.
I have a list of possible projectors here www.lumabox.com/house-projection-mapping-kit/ I'll be updating it in the next few weeks because Optoma have some new models out now that are also suitable. You can use this to work out whether the projector you're looking at will cover your house www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm
@@druhill2008 It's a big jump, so true. But I recently switched the laser light source and I was surprised by the difference (in a very good way). I guess it's all about what the gains are worth to each person
If i already outlined the surface and then proceed to mask my video content to its shape, that would mean i can project it without any mapping software right?
Please suggest a powerfull projector. Actually i want to start an advertisement buisness. But i dont know which projector is good for this. Please suggest a projector that can project upto 50meters clearly.
@@davidpereira4455 👊🏼 but I recommend this new workflow that doesn't need manual outlines drawn! th-cam.com/video/xEBV7yjkqKk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Qzn49pcE0S6wO-q8

This is excellent video.... I had been looking/searching for this type of video. Step by step teaching style is commandable
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the helpful information. Wow, I have a lot to think about now. Very very helpful
Fun to have a project to get stuck into 🤓

I screen recorded the whole build (just in case) so maybe that would be something worth releasing. Probably a bit boring!! 😁

Hey, thank you for the informative video, I've been wanting to do this for years, consider me subscribed 👍👍👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Can the software extend 2 projectors?
Thank u for everything!
No. But you could go through the process twice, once for each projector
What projector would you recommend for 1,000 USD or less?

Please share one video about projection mapping with millumin
Maybe in the future. Good idea

Maybe contact the developer of House Mapper? I don't know anything about conflicts it might have with other software

Qlab is a common budget choice for theatres and supports projection mapping

@LumaBox it looks like the optoma eh412st might be the best. It's crazy how the 1090 is over $1200 more than the 1080
