    Really helped me in that I have the same exact case. Upgrading CPU, MOBO and CPU FAN. So needed to know if this one will fit my case and how it will look. I was initially worried that my over sized zotac GPU would be in the way of the radiator. Looks like I will have plenty of room as the radiator does not go past the red plate that covers the wiring.

    3rd radiator install method- mount case fans on front with long screws- long screws are long enough to go into radiator as well. Mount pull fans to inside of radiator for push/pull :D

  • @TheNINDLE
    @TheNINDLE 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have the same case but I have the 140mm fans. The top fan cannot screw in but it is in a very stable position and doesn’t move. It still preforms well. Just letting y’all know if you’re looking to do this too but with larger fans

  • @spikeoi
    @spikeoi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Newbie question! By setting up your fans to push ambient air through the radiator at the front of the case, aren't you essentially exhausting the radiator's heat into your case? Wouldn't it make more sense to mount the fans in a pull position at an exhaust point? (back or top of case)

    • @kamik1ng
      @kamik1ng 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      it works that way, because the air will flow into your pc and get out by the other fans you've mentioned, the top and back ones that are pointed with exiting the hot air.

  • @RealEyes24
    @RealEyes24 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    on the installation manual guide they say that for best results you need to place the fans so that they take out air outside the case...not bringing air into it.

    I have a question about where you plug your fans into, There is an option on the mother board for an AIO header, is it better to plug the two fans into the cpu fan header's and then the cooler into the AIO header. Or to plug the fans into the sockets connected to the cooler and then the cpu fan. I plugged into the Cpu fan and the the other fans into the provided plugs attached to the cooler. I hear mixed things about which way is more efficient.

    • @azpitbull
      @azpitbull 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The AIO header provides constant 8-12 volts of power, and I read it is recommended to use that AIO. It will safely run at the pump at full power at not be very noisy. The fans to cool the radiator should be monitored by the MOBO bios (CPU fan and Opt fan). You can set it up in your bios. and also monitor it with software.
      Remember if you have a case, sometimes they have a fan hub -where you can plug in 1-6 extra fans. But remember, your ASUS bios only detects the fans directly attached to the MOBO. Usually ASUS boards usually have just 3-4 CPU fan connections, and usually 2-3 USB connections. Plugging in the Corsair USB to the MOBO will give you options for lights, and interface to add colors, position the heat sensors with optional (SDK software). All of this is great to see, but the main concern is the MOBO. Remember, if you decide to connect to CPU FAN 1/2/3 on your MOBO, make sure the fans output are not using more that 5volts of power on each connection. If the fans can run higher voltage than that, the demand can overheat your circuit board. Make sure you use Molex power from empty SATA power plugs for the hi-rpm fans. Anything using over 3000RPM will most like be using more that 4volts. Think like this... small pins=small power capacity. Big pins=big power.
      So in the end, you have to decide;
      Do you want iCUE to control and monitor everything (H100iPro) from USB2 plug? If you plug radiator fans directly to CPU+OPT CPU fan, your ICUE software will not detect it and you cannot control those 2 fans independently. Instead, the AIO "pump" in iCUE can control them both but again, you have to adjust the settings. There is no run-up calibration on the iCUE to test the fans allowing it to make it's own setup. And that is where the ASUS FAN XPERT4 has the advantage. I like to be able to see everything in the BIOS. And quite frankly, Corsair is more into the memory and hard drive business, and not a BIOS controller. So if you want Corsair software to monitor the board, its up to you. But ASUS already has you covered using ASUS FAN XPERT4 (in the BIOS as well as software loadable.
      I have CPU and OPT headers directly to radiator fans/ USB monitoring the temp on the cooler, and the rest of the fans connected to CH1/2/3. Its a matter of preference. How many people use the iCUE temp sensor (green yellow red)? I dont have the case facing me, so how will I ever know when the sensor turns red? Answer: FAN Xpert4.

    • @tekrant64
      @tekrant64  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made a mistake in that video for not using the AIO header, the AIO header supplies more power, since the pump and fans connected to the pump draw so much power. When you use the CPU fan header with the pump and fans, it doesn't allow things to run as well since the pump is drawing so much power. In a test i did, one of the normal fan headers was running at about half the RPM it normally did because of how little power it had to run.

    I have this same cooler mounted in the exact same configuration and for some reason my studs that screw into the back plate slowly back out over a few days. They become loose, when this happens my temps rise. I have tried reinstalling checking that everything is tightened but they always come loose . The hoses are pretty firm and tend to apply a lot of pressure in a sideways direction pushing on my cooler. Any thoughts on this? Yes my backplate contains washers and is firm and not shaking. I was looking into an x62 Kraken and the hoses are much less firm.
