Im coming from a non RGB build and will upgrade to a new build including rgb fans, I was so confused on how to do this but after watching this video it all makes sense now. thank you sir
I did this to my new pc I built back in 2020 and I tell you that was the hardest part. Putting everything else together was easy. Also takes up so much space inside the case. My case Lian has an area that houses all the cables and its so packed its going to be super hard to replace my power supply eventually. I'm running 10 fans though.
Corsair REALLY needs to come up with a way to daisy chain their fans together as Lian Li did.. My first build has 10 QL fans, definitely am overwhelmed with the amount of cables I’ve got to try and manage! Along with Lian Li Stimers, luckily I got a 011 XL case but it’s still hard, my last hurdle today is figuring out how I can connect the triple 8 pin Strimer cable through the bottom as there’s no room! Gonna have to move some things around to make it work

I may have to go over this video again but I think you pretty much covered all the bases. Thank you, sir.
This is Michael. Thank you for taking the time to do this. It is very helpful. Corsair has also done an excellent job by putting together not only the best looking R GB fans, but the hubs and the software to run them, not to mention the great cases. I'm planning a 5000 T build Right now and your video is helpful for establishing how the other fans will work. I plan to use the newer Q L120s because they look better, And will substitute them for the AIO cooler fans as well.
You are the absolute greatest! I’m building with a iCue 5000T RGB Case and your video on that and on this are perfect. Thank you. You gained a big fan today.
I'm currently running 13 fans in my 5000D, 6 QL connected to a commander core xt (front and side), 3 LL & 3 ML around the h150 capellix's commander core (push pull), 1 LL exhaust, 6 light strips (lighting node pro + rgb hub). Cable managment is quite fun, but has been put on hold as I plan on replacing the LL push rad fans with QL fans. The cool thing about having the ML fans on top (pull) is the RGB lighting coming through the Corsair triangle cutouts of the top panel reflect on the wall, surprisingly nice little touch for now. Bloody hell this looks like a god damn nightmare. I feel substantially more confused. The only thing this video helped me with is knowing to buy a case with nearly all of it's fans preinstalled, which was the case with the Lian Li cases I purchased last year. All I had to do was install the radiator fans up top with was only 2 or 3 cords. But this video definitely helped me knowing what I want to avoid. I was literally minutes away from ordering 3 dozen Corsair cases that did not have fans included for our new offices. And I was searching for buying Corsair fan packs in bulk to install them all. I am going to be taking extra time tonight to find a different company. Mate you helped me dodge a massive bullet, I cannot thank you enough, big thumbs up, cheers!!!!!!
Man, I've spent 2 days learning about the nuances of fans and rgb controls, picked my aio/fans twice only to realise something important was out of stock now reluctantly going for corsair lol. I really didn't expect fans/rgb to be the most annoying and confusing part of learning how to build a PC!
Thank you for this great video! I've been wondering how to set up rgb/argb fans and also control the fan speeds. I didnt even know that rgb/argb fans have two cables until I watched thsi vid. More power to your channel!
Thank you so much! I was wondering where to connect the SATA power cable from the controller into the power supply (no matter how obvious it sounds) and after countless videos, yours was the one. Thank you
This is the best video and the only one that gave me the info I needed. The pc I built today was my first with rgb and your video is the only thing that helped me understand I forgot the sata cable for the rbg 😂
I'll likely not go with RGB fans, but at least now I know about getting a double or triple splitter cable so that I can power all my fans, if I don't have enough headers on my mobo. Thanks!
Thankyou! I have the corsair h150i elite aio and it was really straight forward but then I bought a 3 pack of LL 120's that came with the little led connector and didn't want to run a bunch of wires to system fan hookups. I'm so glad I can use the hub that came with the corsair aio kit as I already had it setup and cable managed lol. That hub is so much better of a system.
Thanks for this video. I plan on doing 13 Corsair fans in my 5000D build. Should I use 2 commander cores and a rgb hub or is there a better way to run the 13th fan?

This is the 3rd video I've watched and so far yours is the best and detailed. I have a Micro ATX motherboard and im only seeing 3 system fans on it but I have 5 fans... Anything i can do?
When i turn on my pc, it turns on for 1 second then shuts off. If i disconnect the sata cable, then it does work, but fans dont have light. Wtf am i doing wrong? 🤦♂️
Did you try to access the ICUE? Go to the lighting setup and run the wizard, auto detect for compatible fans this was able to get my 3rd 140 mm powered on and lighting up
Nice vid just subbed! Currently got 6 added fans and the 3 that comes with the 5000x case. My 3 fans work but i cant adjust the speed or rgb. Had mine built by someone so im trying to learn it all from scratch.
Hey man, so i my case already has a built in fan hub, but i’m honestly so lost with it in the manual, and what i wanted to ask is can you connect both 4 pin and 3 pins fans to the command core xt? then you connect it to a 4 pin fan header, because i read that if you connect it it to a 12v fan header and your fan is 5v it will ruin your fan. Once again love your videos they’re very informative!
Not sure why this is hard for some people. If you buy the commander core or the XT, each can take 6 fans w/RGB. I don't use those tiny splitters that corsair gives you and I only use Corsair fans with the commander core/XT for maximum compatibility. Also, you can customize the RGB so it does not matter what channel (1-6) that you plug it into.
Dude thank you so much for this video it was so informative and cleared up all of the questions and worries I had about installung these fans in my first build. Im an electrician so Im no stranger to cable management but this is my first pc build and this essentially answered my question about its SATA connection (I was afraid id have to order another sata cord but my psu comes with enough necessary sata connections to pull it off)
My new Corsair AIO came bundled with the Commander Core. I have 6 total Corsair fans going into my system (3 from the AIO and the other three an LL120 Triple pack) I only need to use this Commander Core for this build? Also, what the heck is the difference between the Commander Core and the Commander Core XT? I have an old Commander Pro AND the RGB hub from the previous build. Do I just not need them anymore since the new AIO came with Commander Core? Also, do a video on how to neatly cable manage all of these 😂😂😂
Thank you for this helpful video, it helped me a lot, but I have a questions. I can't find any references or documentations on the "PWM Fan Hub" that comes with the case "CorsAir 7000D Airflow". My questions is; the cable that is labeled "PWM" from that Fan Hub ,is it getting connected to the MB Chassis fan and which one? I have a ASUS ProArt X670E. Thank you so much.
Excellent video - Lot of wires now when you add lot of fans in to system now. Did build on lower spec I7 g4 with just 3 Fans recently. The next Computer will build probably be a big one - (Main PC), likely to use I7 G12+ CPU, Asus Z790 board, so Will a 5 Fan Solution be a good solution. I probably buy a Corsair 400D Case, Corsair, 850W Power supply (min) and probably use the two provided case Fans for top / Back but Buy the DeepCool FC120 3IN1 Case for the Front of the case
Great vid, i have a new comparison for you arctis nova pro vs arctis pro wireless. If you can get your hands on the new steelseries headset, I'm sure your review would be first class as always🤞👍😎🇬🇧
Great, i can not wait for your opinion on the new nova headset, and to see how they have improved the old design, an update has been a long time coming imo. Keep up the good work.👍👍😎🇬🇧
This handy, but wondering about when you have the ROG Fan Controller box too and then Corsair's AIO cooling. If that can be plugged into the ASUS Controller or need both.
I’m building a pc rn and I have rgb fans but I don’t want to use the rgb. Can I just plug the fan into the motherboard and leave the rgb cable hanging or I got to have both?
Hi, I'm curious. Let's say that a mid range mobo only has one or two argb header, my question is, how many argb fans can you connect to a single header if you have limited amount of them. Of course, all of them are connected to a hub. Same goes for the fans, how many of them can you connect to a single header since some of them are 1 or 2A headers
Good video! I was wondering what would happen with the rgb sync if i buy a 5000T rgb white case (3 ll120 included) + h150i white capellix aio (comes with 3 ml120) + actually i own a ll120 triple black pack (comes with 6 fan rgb led hub + lighting node pro) I know the easiest is to stay with all same fans but its expensive for me right now
Wait so if I have 3 fans that come with my antec case and a 3 Corsair fan pack, can I use the hub for all of them?? That would be so convenient 😭. I’m starting my first Pc build on Wednesday and I’m nervous!
First time building a PC; bought corsair 7000D and I was wondering what that cable was 4:47 and where it plugs into. I was beginning to panic because the booklet that came with the tower didn't explain the power connection of that circuit board and online forums are hostile to new people. I would have been lost all day had I not watched this, turns out the cable I needed wasn't included with neither the tower nor the motherboard- it comes with the power supply. 🙃

Many thanks. I try to do this with all my videos, sub for more! 🦐
Helped me build my Sakura Miku pc, thanks a million!
This is the 3rd video I've watched and so far yours is the best and detailed. I have a Micro ATX motherboard and im only seeing 3 system fans on it but I have 5 fans... Anything i can do?
You will need splitter cables or a Commander Core
When i turn on my pc, it turns on for 1 second then shuts off. If i disconnect the sata cable, then it does work, but fans dont have light. Wtf am i doing wrong? 🤦♂️
The same thinghappened to me
It happened to me but my adapter cord melted, I may have put too many fans into it......"not a corsair adapter"
Did you ever figure out what happened? I’m currently dealing with the same situation
Did you try to access the ICUE?
Go to the lighting setup and run the wizard, auto detect for compatible fans this was able to get my 3rd 140 mm powered on and lighting up
Sounds like PSU.. maybe it’s too small
Once again love your videos they’re very informative!
ahh finally now this is the better way to explain GJ👍🏻👍🏻
Not sure why this is hard for some people. If you buy the commander core or the XT, each can take 6 fans w/RGB. I don't use those tiny splitters that corsair gives you and I only use Corsair fans with the commander core/XT for maximum compatibility. Also, you can customize the RGB so it does not matter what channel (1-6) that you plug it into.
What's wrong with the splitters? I'm hooking up 6 fans now....is the commander really required?
It's difficult because I want to wire 10 fans, not 6.
Bro, my brain! Thank you so much for the video, so clear for me to understand.
Glad it helped! Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
@@TheProvokedPrawn oh definitely! Thanks for all the computer help!
Very easy to understand. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe.
This was awesome, its really going to help me with my Corsair 5000X build.
Watch this too th-cam.com/video/Aha7D5-ilQE/w-d-xo.html
This is brilliant, thank you for taking the time to do this! 6 fans, no problem! Does the icue lcd hook up to the controller core as well?
I've done a video on that too th-cam.com/video/z0jDMVooE38/w-d-xo.html
Great vid! Finally remembered to subscribe ;)
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video. This was the most helpful video ive come across regarding plugging cables in
I aim to please. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
Dude thank you so much for this video it was so informative and cleared up all of the questions and worries I had about installung these fans in my first build. Im an electrician so Im no stranger to cable management but this is my first pc build and this essentially answered my question about its SATA connection (I was afraid id have to order another sata cord but my psu comes with enough necessary sata connections to pull it off)
👍 glad to help
THKS friend exactly the video I needed cuz I'm building a 7000d too
Glad to help. Hope you saw my 7000D guide
Absolutely love this video. Thanks a lot for sharing 🎉
I REALLY needed this video, thank you!

@@TheProvokedPrawn Already did! I'm binge watching your videos, right now. Great stuff 👍👊.
@@SofaKingA Appreciate you
Like always great, useful and helpful content. Hats off. 🍻
Thank you.
Great video! Thanks for your hard work!
Corsair fans are nice, but if you are new to pc building and want a smooth and easy first experience, I would highly recommend Lian Li fans.
My new Corsair AIO came bundled with the Commander Core. I have 6 total Corsair fans going into my system (3 from the AIO and the other three an LL120 Triple pack)
I only need to use this Commander Core for this build? Also, what the heck is the difference between the Commander Core and the Commander Core XT?
I have an old Commander Pro AND the RGB hub from the previous build. Do I just not need them anymore since the new AIO came with Commander Core?
Also, do a video on how to neatly cable manage all of these 😂😂😂
14:16. One of the reason I ditched full ATX builds for ITX.
Interesting and informative video as always. Thanks for sharing!…
Glad to help
Excellent video - Lot of wires now when you add lot of fans in to system now. Did build on lower spec I7 g4 with just 3 Fans recently. The next Computer will build probably be a big one - (Main PC), likely to use I7 G12+ CPU, Asus Z790 board, so Will a 5 Fan Solution be a good solution. I probably buy a Corsair 400D Case, Corsair, 850W Power supply (min) and probably use the two provided case Fans for top / Back but Buy the DeepCool FC120 3IN1 Case for the Front of the case
thank you so much for explain easily and by one by
Glad to help. Hope you enjoyed enough to sub
Thank you for your Videos. they are so helpful. Can you also do a video about setting CPU Fan in Bios please?!
After this vid i feel like ive known how to wire fans my whole life
glad to help :)
This part is more complicated then me building the pC with a fully modular PSU
can i use the hub with other fans? (not corsair ones)
So what would you recommend to run 13 fans RGB/PWM?
Very helpful, thanks!
Great vid, i have a new comparison for you arctis nova pro vs arctis pro wireless. If you can get your hands on the new steelseries headset, I'm sure your review would be first class as always🤞👍😎🇬🇧
I have asked about them and am just waiting on them to arrive ☺️
Great, i can not wait for your opinion on the new nova headset, and to see how they have improved the old design, an update has been a long time coming imo. Keep up the good work.👍👍😎🇬🇧
This handy, but wondering about when you have the ROG Fan Controller box too and then Corsair's AIO cooling. If that can be plugged into the ASUS Controller or need both.
Thank you very much, this helped me alot
Glad it helped! Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
thank you this is life saving
You're very welcome :) Hope you enjoyed enough to sub!
I’m building a pc rn and I have rgb fans but I don’t want to use the rgb. Can I just plug the fan into the motherboard and leave the rgb cable hanging or I got to have both?
Yes
@@TheProvokedPrawn preciate it bro
The moment I heard your name I laughed so hard. I love it
Hi, I'm curious. Let's say that a mid range mobo only has one or two argb header, my question is, how many argb fans can you connect to a single header if you have limited amount of them. Of course, all of them are connected to a hub. Same goes for the fans, how many of them can you connect to a single header since some of them are 1 or 2A headers
Quick question whats the logic with the 1 side and front at top are blowing in and the front on top sucking or pulling out?
Wishing that corsair copies the system of the lian li fans so that several can be connected with only 2 cables.
