I have a pz20 carb and the thing runs wide open and idle adjustment and mixture make no change . I have put new gaskets on and still same thing . What I am wondering is one is fuel line bottom is drain , the other one is where air can be drawn in , where does that line go ?
The line on the bottom is just an overflow line. If idle adjustment makes no change your throttle cable is to tight holding the slide open. Make sure you have play at the throttle handle
@@TepcoCycleRepair this atv will only run with full choke and as soon as it starts it’s almost wide open . If you turn the choke off it dies . I have replaced carb and gaskets.
@@chrishassertt5957 If the slide is closed all the way put a bigger pilot jet in. A bike that only runs on choke is usually a clogged pilot or a pilot that is way to small. The choke forces more fuel into the carb throat.
@@TepcoCycleRepair I ordered a pz19 carb instead of the pz20 . I definitely know it’s a fuel air mixture issue, too much air not enough fuel . All I can say is you put choke on all the way the atv goes almost to full throttle
The mixture screw was at 2.5 turns out but it would depend on your pilot jet, and temp you're riding in. I would find a clean OEM carb, these aren't worth it.
@@dylew0893 The tolerances in these carbs are horrible so adjusting them to perfection is near impossible. I would rather get a used OEM carb and rebuild it.
@@TepcoCycleRepair gotcha. I did end up ordering it last night so I was curious. I do plan to upgrade if I get it going good. Only thing I did was delete the gov and shaved the head+thinner hg. It's a 158cc engine this is really the first time in 18 years I've messed with a small engine.

Yeah, water will do that, sometimes you can save them with a thorough cleaning but when they get that bad it's worth replacing.
on my pz 20 it needed an 88 to 90 jet to run correctly

Do u know what kind of pilot jets this carb needs ? Having trouble finding right size
Go to jets r us.com and match it to a picture, then order a few each size up and down.
where does that bottome line attach too?
The line out of the very bottom is just a drail line. It doesn't attach to anything.
