PERFECT answer to the question 'Is classical music still relevant to many people today'. How could anyone watch this video and not believe that classical is still as strong as ever? One reason why I watch this video a few times a year is because I get to see a large group of people doing exactly what they LOVE to do. And I LOVE to watch them do it! ♥
The musicians and conductor do a wonderfully beautiful performance and being able to so intimately see their fingers on their instruments and the incidental expressions as they play adds an incredible level to the experience. It makes me feel joy and that is no small thing.
How on earth can ANYONE sit still through this magic?! I'm still waltzing and the video has ended! Absolutely magnificent piece and performance! THANKS!!!
Wow! This small orchestra somehow managed to produce tones and sound I would expect from a full size symphony orchestra, in an auditorium. These great performers deserve recognition, all of them. I wish I knew all their names, from the harp player, the flautist, cello, even french horn players. I see the name of the conductor, Lazlo Kovacs. He is very good! I reaaly enjoyed this performance. It was accurate, passionate, and you could tell they enjoyed playing the piece. Kudos!
The melding of the beautiful music with the graceful movement of the spacecraft was so powerful that people still powerfully connect with it almost 50 years later. That takes real genius.
Really amazing how the cameras got so close to the musicians! it was great to be able to watch them work like that. It's a very good version of the song except i do think they rushed the ending a little bit.
STANLEY WAS A GENIUS TO CHOOSE THIS AS A PRELUDE TO 2001 SPACE ODDESY !
Blue Danube one of the best classic.by sur Strauss. Unbeatable classics
The universe will not remember or even mark our existence but my god we lived and created beauty.
It might remember this. :)

WOW.....THANKS FOR POINTING THAT OUT!!
Never noticed until you mentioned it. Nice catch!
that monitor needs only to play in synch over the video. The score is on the music stand!
The first Blue Danube symphony video I find without those waltz scenes. Full orchestra video!

Related: I think in the realm of orchestral music, this is the greatest piece ever created.
