Yes you can, but do remember to soak it in water first, it's way more salty when compared to canned ones, around 1/2 hour to 2 hours will do, depending how salty you want it. If you want to, you can soak the soaked anchovies in olive oil overnight so as to achieve something that's similar to the canned ones, though it's purely optional since canned anchovies will disappear anyway.
I little tip, if you have someone who says they do not like anchovies, get them in the pan early so they will dissolve ,and when the anchovy haters are not looking,lol, they will never know when eating the final product. Also let them know that appx. 90 percent of steak sauces and worstchishire sauces including what most people consider the top dogs ,A-1, and Lee and Perrin, contain anchovies
skymailer37 ty, unfortunately where i am , no store carries fish sauce, it is hard enough to find anchovies in a jar, usually they are packed in a tin, and i can taste that metallically taste, but ty for info
