This is great by every measure. All the witches that just left PPA because “Johns always wins”… This keeps Ben honest…the pressure of “never losing” and the tendency to grow complacent is quashed. It’s just healthy for the game. I love Ben Johns…from the first games I have watched him play 4-5 years ago. This will only serve to develop him as a leader, player, winner (and in this case loser).
Is this a joke… aces would be insane… it’s an excellent serve - saying it’s insane is a stretch because the nature of pickleball is the rally hence why anyone can return a pickleball serve… Federico and Ben are phenomenal players… its not about the serve in pickle -- let’s save that for tennis
Can someone explain me if the rules have changed after that tournament? Because some serves seems to be illegal (both feet cannot be off the ground while serving?)
Been Johns is an incredible Pickleball player and he’s proven tournament after tournaments and some of them are very lengthy with near wins score taking a lot of time away from any rest that he might had gotten. And that’s what happened to Ben Johns. Just like come on, are you kidding me, He endured a lot of physical activity climbing his way at a chance of another Triple Crown and run out of steam, it’s like how many games did the opponent play before beating Ben John’s, and of course it was close games and you could tell at the end of the last game Ben was out of it, just like he ran the 26 mile marathon, done. The next time they play you will see a different game? Other favorites,, I might add Colin Schick and Connor Garnett would make a great mens team together. Just saying.
Definitely a different result if every single net bounce didn't go Staksrud's way, but credit to Staksrud for the win. I think it was close to 6 or 7 points off the net.
So Ben could not win another singles game and still be #1 until some one has more points. Lame . So Tom Brady #1 in super bowls even retired. "Points"@@networth00
What is with these guys not hitting dead balls directly back to each other. It's always somewhere that their opponent has to fetch the ball. So childish.
@@joshbryant7363 I disagree. They're world class athletes and can take the time they need to catch a breath without doing that. They do it in doubles, too. And don't get me started on not tapping paddles after matches. It's a real thing.
@@cwdressen Not tapping paddles after a match makes sense. Why would you tap good game when its a best of 3 series and its only the first game? The way you're complaining, you'll complain about anything! lighten up!
@@totoro1605 it's just a little thing called sportsmanship that seems to be lost on this generation. Even boxers do it before each round. It clearly sounds very difficult to you, but I promise It's really not that hard!
So no one is going to talk about how obviously illegal Staksrud's serve is? Seems to be a common theme in the Pickleball crowd, as long as the person they like is winning, they could care less how it happens.
This kitchen dinking shit sucks…. Yes it can kinda be strategic but it slows down the whole momentum of the game. I’m trying to switch to pickle ball from tennis now because to be honest it’s easier. But serves need to be overhand and courts need to be wider in my opinion.
Full credit to Federico here. Held his nerve and composure when down 8-3 in the third, and hit some incredible shots to bring it back. Well deserved!!
Terrific match. Thanks PPA for making these available on YT!
Perfectly called game. Didn’t over talk and didn’t under talk. Perfect.
Finally, there is someone who might be able to challenge Ben Johns consistently.
That was insane. Incredible win by Fed

Federico kept his composure after the miserable 2nd game and came back to win it.
Wow, what a great match. Down to the wire. Amazing job by both players!
Absolutely loved watching this. Crazy matchup.
Federico played so well. Great job and hope you get more gold your way.
Your videos are GREAT! So much good info.
Thanks, and keep 'em coming!
That was one hell of a match! Both players played incredible. It's one of those matches that no one deserved to lose.
...Except the guy that lost. 🤣
Wow, what a come back and against the goat, amazing!
Show the trophy ceremony and interviews! At the very least so the length doesn’t spoil the outcome
Congrats to stak
Let's give some props to the announcers. Funny and informative, love um!

Staksrud: PUTA MADRE! Commentator: As you can hear his Unhappy Exaltation from Staksrud.
8:00 - 8:20 call stands. Looks in, I wonder what others think.
Way inside 😂 but mistakes do happen sometimes.

May the best man win!
The net is there for both players. You hit what you hit. To key in on that aspect of this match is hilarious.
Ben Johns was gassed, but Fed also played very well. Good match.
How do I go pro in pickle every league around me is booked I want to be humbled
He should be able to beat Ben after sitting all day while Ben has been playing all day lol
Exactly!!
Then Ben should just play games that he can be his best. Don't cry after losing a game, or else don't play in the first place.
@@markpatel sorry thats not how it works! The PPA wont tweak there tours for one person even if they have to play in all 3 matches
It isnt a tiring sport, lol. If you are any kind of athlete, you could spend 12-14 hrs a day playing pickleball and feel nothing from it.

im surprised how often they lose a point by hitting the net?

It goes by points, just like tennis. Ben is still #1 in points.

Staks serve is consistently illegal!
We have keyboard warrior here, thinks he/she/they is better than the ground referee.
Gotta serve under the belly button. Give me a time stamp or two.

Wiffleball paddle pong
