    It’s insane that singles players have to call their own lines… it’s nearly impossible to turn around and properly judge a line call when running after a ball like that

    everyone in a rush to bow down to Ben Johns and completely overlook Haworth's first set. That was a really dominating performance over the world #1. Yes Ben adjusted and won out. But to step up as the 22 seed and do that is pretty solid. Haworth had a ton of high quality passing shots.

The cheaper balls that came with a 2 paddle set bounce higher and have more pop. It has been close to 90 degrees lately too. So what ball is the " right" ball?

I agree with paddle regulations which were used I this tourney BTW, but so.e player just hit harder. Increase your athletism and adjust to the hard hitters if you want to keep up with the evolution of the game.

    I'm not really one to moan about the game becoming "too fast"...but Chris Haworth and/or the paddle that he's using is a good example of that. So many of his points were just serve and a passing shot...it does beg the question "why not just play tennis?". It's not his fault necessarily, but the paddle tech should be made in such a way that the game retains the kitchen play that differentiates it from other racket sports.

    • @hyzer9163
      @hyzer9163 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

      I feel as these paddles have nothing to do with these players style of play, A great strategy for singles is just paint the lines and keep your opponent away from the kitchen, I don’t understand these comments, not just this one, on people complaining that pickleball isn’t being played at the kitchen predominantly vs passing shots and hard liners, Not trying to argue I just don’t get why everyone wants to change the game to keep it so slow or to a certain playstylr

    • @johnclikeman5041
      @johnclikeman5041 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

      I don't know anything about this paddle, but Jack Sock played this same style when he was using a Selkirk Luxx, which is the softest paddle on the market.
      I agree with regulating paddles, but the way people blame the paddle for every new development in the game is getting ridiculous. Players are getting better at the game, and they are better than ever at generating pace and hitting small targets. And the pickleball court is just a bit too wide for a single player to cover the whole net. Hitting good passing shots is just the correct way to play at a high level, and if the opponent is getting passed they need to either return better or stop crashing the net on attackable balls.

    • @hyzer9163

      @@johnclikeman5041 as a newcomer to the sport, I feel as though there is a lot of non athletic people that are starting to “blame” and complain about these new paddles and technology being the reason they are unable to keep up with some of these players, If you force people to play the game a certain way you lose that creative ability to your play style and makes people not like it, i’m just rambling now
