Played this at a neighborhood party....3 weeks after a neighbor admitted to cheating on her husband the same month as their 20th wedding anniversary... Look on her face was priceless. Something like this 😳
I can remember hearing my Daddy sing this song when I was a kid while he was getting all dressed up to go out jooking...This was back in the day when country music meant something...I always loved to hear Carl and Pearl Butler sing they were a great husband and wife duo!
This was one of my father's favorite groups (along with Rose Maddox - definitely a okie /Bakersfield sound). He didn't get to play their albums as much (since mom didn't care for their songs- she was more Porter Wagner & one's like him) but I respect all varieties of old style country music (don't get me started on the JUNK they call country music today 🤢🤬🤮)
Is the man in the red Suit Bill Phillips? I meet him in 1962 in a High School Parking Lot. Also meet him in Western North Carolina School in early 198-s.
A wonderfull song and very good singers .... !!

I can't figure those folks clapping, but this is great!
They look like they are clapping to a totally different song.
Haha. I noticed the same thing. The 2 standing up to the left have no rhythm at all. The lady behind them actually has it correct.
Awesome!
great
