Hey! ^^ English is not my native language, so bare with me. BUT isn't Freya from New Zealand? Don't New Zealander have a similar accent to aussies? o.0 I don't wanna offend anyone, but it kind of confuses me, because their accent sounds so different and I always thought that this may have come from her speaking german als well and mixing the languages. Which is a normal thing that happens to emigrates when they speak two different languages on a day to day bases. Sooo... Is this New Zealander accent? haha
I do feel New Zealand and Australian accents are similar, but we do differ on vowels, and probably a few other factors but vowels are the most obvious. I am sure a lot of people either side of the Tasman Sea will protest, saying we are very different, but we a more like each other than we are like many English or American accents. As an aside, New Zealand accents give me a kind-of aural uncanny valley effect because they are similar. That is, Kiwi accents are enough alike that they sound like "normal" for me, but just different enough to be jarring.

She definitely seemed down in Germany, and admitted many times that she was having serious emotional struggles, but seeing her back in NZ, it is SO much more clear how unhappy she’s been these last many months. ☹️ Glad to see her so much more carefree & quick to giggle! 😍

I was always told that New Zealand looks exactly the same as Germany 'cause it's also in a "mild" climate region, but my dear, does it look different! Greener, more hills, almost jungle-ish in some parts. A lot of german graduates go there for some time, months or a year, some of my old classmates did that. It's hella expensive, but it seems to really be worth it. Keep up your head, you're getting there. So much respect for you, also your Mum seems wonderful. :)

Cinny I moved out of my home country over 5 years ago and I haven't seen my parents in person in nearly 3 years! It's particularly hard when you have a child and his grandma can only see him on Skype :( We're definitely going to go to my home country soon for a holiday! I always stuff my face whenever I'm visiting there and worry about the results later :P
Agreed! Kittens are the best thing on Earth. Little secret on how to have kittens all the time..... Foster. We foster kittens through our local shelter. Mama cats and kittens often are the first to be put down in busy shelters because they require 8 weeks of shelter space before they can be adopted. We keep kittens (some times with Mama) while they grow up in our bathroom. The shelter then takes them back, fixes them and adopts them out. Life with kittens is amazing and the best life.
A friend of mine took the plunge recently and migrated from Ireland to New Zealand. It was her dream all throughout college when we were there together in 2008 to 2012, and this year she finally did it. She absolutely loves it and is already trying to find out how to extend her visa ^_^

I'm sure the comforts of familiar childhood haunts (if you'll pardon the pun!), visiting your Mum and having a well needed holiday have all contributed to this. What is really obvious though is how much happier and relaxed you seem because of the brilliant Mr Owl and the love and respect you have for each other. It's always such a great feeling of nostalgia when you go back to these kinds of places. I always come back to Wanaka every few years and just the simple things like cheese scones, pick n mix and L&P at New World make me feel all warm and gooey inside. We don't have all the same things in Aus!

Oh Wow, this is such a weird video, because I grew up in Opoho, literally a Km away from the SPCA and I recently adopted my cat last year from that very SPCA, my mum is on the committee that looks after the gardens and the Northern Cemetery, and all my friends went to LPHS (I went to OGHS), so seeing you vlog all this is such a weird experience!! *LOVED* this video so much! Your home country is just beautiful. There is something magical about taking a "trip down memory lane" and seeing all the places you grew up with. Ditto the food! And your mom...your mom is great! I can see where you got the ginger from...and she rocks the black clothing too 😊 Also, I'm not goth myself (pretty much on the opposite side of that spectrum), but I adore walking through old cemeteries (modern ones, not so much). There's something so peaceful about them, and I love to lay hands on the monuments, headstones, statuary etc... that you find in them and think of what kind of life the person buried there had during the age they lived in.
Cemetaries really are lovely parks, often on beautiful pieces of land.. always quiet :) great places to walk, think, and be. I grew up hanging out in them, and my husband and I love to walk in them and appreciate the art.

If you're still coming to Ireland don't leave the place you're staying with out sunglasses, rain coat or umbrella and a summer top underneath!!! One country that can have 4 fuckn seasons in the one day!

*LOVED* this video so much! Your home country is just beautiful. There is something magical about taking a "trip down memory lane" and seeing all the places you grew up with. Ditto the food! And your mom...your mom is great! I can see where you got the ginger from...and she rocks the black clothing too 😊 Also, I'm not goth myself (pretty much on the opposite side of that spectrum), but I adore walking through old cemeteries (modern ones, not so much). There's something so peaceful about them, and I love to lay hands on the monuments, headstones, statuary etc... that you find in them and think of what kind of life the person buried there had during the age they lived in.

Cemetaries really are lovely parks, often on beautiful pieces of land.. always quiet :) great places to walk, think, and be. I grew up hanging out in them, and my husband and I love to walk in them and appreciate the art.
