"Wearing black just for a change" XD I love how you include your children in a healthy way. A lot of vlogger families have been found to overly-exploit their kids or even push their boundaries on purpose. I like how you occasionally include them without it being too much or at any detriment to them.
Severine is super cute, especially when you hand her a toy and ask what it is. Omg her little "bye-bye" at the end!! I nearly died from how cute she is!!
I love that you speak to your children like any other person 🥰 my mum never ever “baby talked” us or was patronising. She has made 5 very independent and strong willed individuals, that appreciate all the cool dark shit 🖤🌙 absolutely loved you always, seeing you as a mother is such a gift to this world
@@Ed_is_dead_ Baby talk isn't bad, i baby talked all my babies (who are now adults) and I am happy to say they are all incredible people. I plan on spoiling and baby talking my grandchildren, and buying all the Victorian black lace baby clothes (Mimi's lil grand baby bats!) 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I’ve been a silent subscriber since I was 15 and now I’m 23. Your videos have always been such a comfort for me. I’m happy to see life has been treating you well ☺️
I've been a subscriber for years and your videos are such a comfort watch to me. Thank you for sharing this shopping trip. I hope Severine feels better soon, she is a beautiful little girl!
Please use the vintage glassware and tableware for decoration only. That old stuff is loaded with lead. It's in everything: the glass, the glaze, the pattern, everything.
Toast racks aren't super common in the US, but I think they used to be. My grandmother got one in a set of silver trays and such for a wedding gift back in the 50s
Wee Severine is an absolute darling ❤ Yes, please, to more second-hand shopping vlogs 😊 Any time spent looking in these shops is always enjoyable. A few second-hand clothes shopping vlogs would be fab 🖤
Loved seeing Severine out with you thrift shopping - one of my favorite outings. She's so cute naming all the different things and I absolutely loved the little bye-bye at the end. You've also inspired me to look into toast racks and now I'm looking for one. If I find a nice one, I might become one of the only U.S. citizens to have one.
Severine's little waves 🖤 she looked ready to launch herself at the sight of those toys in the first shop. Also--no toast racks in the US, not that I know of. Didn't even know that was a thing until this video so thanks for teaching me something new haha. Yes to more vids, a clothes shopping one would be nice!
Black Friday- American Goth brother here. Confirming. We did have toast racks back in the 1950s. But they fell out of favor. If I had only known you love teacups as much as I do- I'm crazy for them. Your video brought tears to my eyes as looking at the street shots. Memories flooded back. I was staying with friends who live in Mount Taranaki, got to see the whole mountain on a cloudless day- bliss. And your right 30NZD for a set of glasses is insane.
I have followed you for years and I'm now a mama that is obsessed with thrifting too. Severine is such a smart and lovely little gem 😊 I hope to see more of the 2 of you thrifting!
The silver plater with the inscription on it is definitely something I would have gotten, I love the old tarnished silver dishweares! And no we do not have toast racks in the US, however, that one in the shop would have been another one I would love to have!
i am american and i literally learned about toast racks yesterday. personally, I don't make enough toast, nor does it sit long enough for me to see one nessicary for me, but I can definitely see the usefulness of it especially for families who like to have sit down breakfasts!
I've watched you for quite a while now. Seeing you as a Mother is such a beautiful thing. I love how you're still yourself. But, you are also a Mother to such beautiful children that are their own individuals. You dont forge things on them. You let them be themselves etc. Such a refreshing thing to see when most people insee woth children on uere exploit theor kods and force them to be something they are not. Thank you for always being you and now being a wonderful Mother. You're such a beautiful soul, inside and out. Definitely going to stay subscribed to you, always. You and ToxicTears have been my favorite Goth TH-camrs. I love you both so much 😭🖤
Toast racks in silver were a thing in the 1860's and 1870's in America among the upper classes and hotels. 1920's the American pop up toaster took over and households started pulling the toast straight to the plate. Ceramic Toast holders were a novelty but if you had a grandmother who entertained she would have one. By the 1950's they started to faded out and households started using them for paper napkin holders or to prop up small kitchen saucers. Americans then forgot what a toast rack was. Most Americans like soggy buttery toast. So now it get buttered heavy on one side, placed on a plate with dry side out and butter side inwards so the steam melts and soaks the toast. Restaurants and hotels now serve toast this way. 😊 🍞
Little Severine is growing up so quick. She is so smart. My daughter just turned two last month, and it so interesting to watch them progress. Hope Severine is feeling better! 🖤 Also. US here (south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)...toast racks are definitely not common. Neat little thing to have, I suppose though.
OH MY GOD I was not prepared for how cute she is awww. I'm so happy for you. I've watched your videos I dont even know how long. Wow. I love seeing you be a Mom. I wish you, Mr Owl and your children great health and happiness.
Girl, you're right we don't have a toast rack lol! I have heard of them and that was the first time I saw one. However (now sure if this counts) I did see an old fashion toaster from before the 20's I think it was. an acquaintance of mine repaired it and got it in working condition it toasts the bread and then when it's down it opens into a toast rack
A clothing one would be great! I think a toast rack would be something you'd see more with British and Australian households. Is it just me or are thrift shops climbing in price?
I am loving these second hand shops I love going into these kinds of shops just to have a rummage around cause you can find anything. I hope Severine the best, hope she gets better. Bless her she is so sweet. Sending love to you and your family 🖤
I still think its so awesome, all this time later, that you picked the name I chose for her out of everyone else's suggestions (I never thought it would have happened or even expected my comment to be seen). Watching this adorable little baby grow up into such a precious little girl is such an amazing thing to see :) You are an amazing mama, and she is so lucky to have someone like you as a mother, and be surrounded by such cool people, art, music, and influences. She is already and will continue to be very well rounded and have an ear and eye for the coolest stuff. I bet she will become an artist!
Severine is getting so big!!! She is such a dolly girl, and so stinking smart!! I love these outings with you!! I don't have many thrift options near me, so I love going vicariously lol. 🖤🖤🖤
If there are any toast racks in America I have never heard of one and have been here all my life. Wow! There are so many beautiful things in the stores there. In the mid southern states, our thrift stores are always bare. They must be selling everything on ebay or something. Severine is a little darling the way she said and waved good bye. I do hope she is doing much much better. Thank you for the video!
I can't abide cold toast, so toast racks didn't seem like a great idea. I'd still buy them in silverplate though, and put my watercolors or postcards in it.
Thank you for allowing us to come along with you. I love seeing the tea cup sets. I don't know what it is about them. I had a small shop here in the US I called; "Antiques & More". I was always on the hunt for tea cups & saucers, tea sets, etc... I sold alot as gifts. People would buy the cup/saucer and then told me how they were going to put a piece of jewelry inside the cup to make a special gift. They put gift cards, and even made little fairy gardens in them using a small porcelain fairy. I ended up doing a few like that, and they would sell. People gave those as gifts to people in the hospital and in the senior care centers here. It's a great gift when they can't have flowers. It's something every pretty to look at. Due to Covid and my own health, I had to close my shop...like so many others. I just wanted to share this with you and everyone so they know you can do alot with thise little tea cups. Thank you again. ❤☕️❤☕️❤☕️❤
American here! And honestly I don’t know if we do or don’t. Where I am from toast racks are not common, but I can imagine they would show up in antique or thrift stores. I would love one though, they seem very practical! Great video, btw! ❤
Black Friday vibes = bargain hunting bliss! 🛍 Whether it’s tech or stylish home kit decor, these deals are too good to pass up. Start your holiday season with big savings! 🎁✨
Can confirm we don't have toast racks. Never even heard of it. I'd imagine it'd cool your toast down too much, and I want it warm! With butter and jam :)
What an adorable INTELLIGENT little angel you have there! So cute!! So smart!!! Takes after her momma for sure!!! Toast racks here in the USA? There are some people that use them, usually people that eat a lot of bread. But most people do not. I've used toast racks before as napkin holders. They work just as well either/or. Can't wait to go shopping with you again!
I love thrifting so much I even love watching others thrift, this was a fun video and I have learned some stuff about fine china. also oh please yes a clothing one!
Correct - Americans do not use toast racks. Even in really fancy places for breakfast or brunch the toast is served either on a separate place or piled up on your main plate. We don't know how to be classy 🥴
Severine is so adorable! It’s obvious your a good Momma because she is so sweet and well behaved while your in the shops. I can confirm we do not have (at least I have never seen one) toast racks in the US. Are they used to just hold toast or how are they used?
Its so cool to see what op shops there are down south, they just recently closed one of my favourite op shops here in Upper Hutt, its been open for longer than I exist im so gutted. Thanks for the lovely video! Your daughter is a cutie! xx 🦇🦇🕷🕷🕸🕸
i love these vlogs, theyre really fun to watch, id definitely like to see more of them. id also love to see you upcycling these finds that you mentioned, when you get to it, i find that kind of videos fun to watch. also im from europe but ive never heard of a toast rack haha
So nice to see you and your adorable little batling again 💜. She’s so sweet. I always enjoy these types of videos and am constantly looking for gothy things you might find. Getting things to fit is also fun. I’m glad you found a few items to enjoy 💜🦇

Yeah her bye at the end she is super cute ❤
Such a beautiful name and she is precious. Haven't been on youtube with work and last time I saw her channel she was a baby!
I love that you speak to your children like any other person 🥰 my mum never ever “baby talked” us or was patronising. She has made 5 very independent and strong willed individuals, that appreciate all the cool dark shit 🖤🌙

things i had no clue i needed in my life: severine's commentary and cameo
Severine is definitely a scene stealer.
Oh, definitely. She is absolutely adorable!
Not only do we not have toast racks in the USA I’ve never even heard of a toast rack 😂
My mind is SO blown 🤯
Can confirm, never heard of one before now either 🤣
same. some people might but also another american who's never even heard of it.
I had never heard of it before either 😅 but now I'm pretty sure I need one. I don't always want the butter to pool and melt. I'm fascinated lol
I think toast racks is only a thing where she lives, because I live in brazil and we also never heard about toast racks 😂
An antique toast rack would be fun for storing eyeshadow palettes
I love how she interacts with her daughter 🖤
Remebering watching you as a teen and now seeing you with children especially with little miss Severine who certainly brighten up my day!
I've been a subscriber for years and your videos are such a comfort watch to me. Thank you for sharing this shopping trip. I hope Severine feels better soon, she is a beautiful little girl!
I absolutely LOVE Severine! She is an absolute sweetheart! 🖤🖤🖤
Your daughter is ADORABLE!!! Wanted to let you know as a U.S. Citizen, we do not have upright toast racks! 🖤
Your little Serverine is the most adorable little girl EVER xx
I think so but I might be slightly biased 😛
@@itisblackfriday haha not at all, she's gorgeous, very clever to :)
Please use the vintage glassware and tableware for decoration only. That old stuff is loaded with lead. It's in everything: the glass, the glaze, the pattern, everything.
Your little lady flipped my day right around. She gave my soul a smile.
Toast racks aren't super common in the US, but I think they used to be. My grandmother got one in a set of silver trays and such for a wedding gift back in the 50s

Legitimately cannot handle how cute Severine is. Her little smile!

great video and Sev is so adorable 🖤🖤
As a Canadian who moved to America; both countries do not have or use toast racks. Severine naming each animal you gave them was simply adorable!
It looks like a toast rack would be a pain to clean, tbf.
Toast gets soggy that way. You can put the rack in the oven to keep warm
Not correct, people use them, they are not popular, that’s all
THIS IS TRUE !!!!I had no idea toast racks were a thing . I feel like we don’t eat just plan toast we add so much toppings
I loooooove the second-hand shopping videos with your soft spoken voice - thank you 🖤
Severine is so adorable! It’s obvious your a good Momma because she is so sweet and well behaved while your in the shops. I can confirm we do not have (at least I have never seen one) toast racks in the US. Are they used to just hold toast or how are they used?

That was sooooo amazing! Severine is so adorable ♥️ ♥️
Love secondhand 🖤💜
No, we dont either have that toast thing in Nordic countries either, like, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland..
In the USA and have never used a toast rack. Have seen them in antique shops but no one in my family has ever had one.
