not only experience, I bet half of Romania's team are amateur or semi professional which means they didnt start playing rugby since 7 or 8 years old to then turn into elite athletes like South Africans do.

As a romanian, I don't feel sad or in any way, we should support our team so they can improve, we shouldn't ,,hit them in the head'' too! Anyway, I feel like this was a privillige to me, because we had the honor to play with the literal best teams in the World(Ireland is the best team in the World, South Africa is the second best team in the World and the former champion and Scotland is in TOP 5 best teams in the World), we couldn't have played with those teams if we weren't put in the same group, and I'm sure that we will gain *a ton* of experience from theese matches!

That’s a great perspective you are taking. Believe me when I say. Is supporters from Tier one nations, so dream of the time to come where the ‘minnows’ are not just there to fill the roster, but to actually be in for a shout of winning the World Cup. The next decade, will bring that about, as the game goes global and more professional.
World rugby just needs to start supporting the minnows, and not just at the top level, but from grass roots up. It’ll come. You just gotta keep working and hopefully, get more and more experience playing against the top tier nations.

I'm a massive Reinach fan...a quiet but highly effective player...he has to make the bench against island...he runs hard ,straight and his defence is textbook...reminds me so much of Fourie du Preez

Fun fact: Cobus Reinach played only 3 matches in the Rugby World Cup (2 matches in 2019, 1 match in 2023) and scored 6 tries. 2 tries per match, crazy.
Not sure where you get that from. He scored a hat trick in this match (25min) and another in Canada 4 years ago (20 min).

Under wet and slippery weather conditions, the Boks still managed to play impressive rugby and I believe if the weather wasn’t bad the score would have been higher.
Very well played for my home country. Sport is done when the final whistle blows and there is still plenty of games left. No matter what, they will still and remain my team. You go boys.
You have to remember, this is only the start for Romania, it will inspire more young boys to participate in the game, and with that will come better teams from Romania.
We were once all learner drivers in a car, and only with practise we became experienced drivers.

As long as there is not enough investment in the team, it will not be able to grow. All the teams in this competition threw away millions of euros. Only with motivation, you can't do much unfortunately.

World Rugby needs to invest more in the development of the sport in these smaller countries these types of results shouldn't happen the game needs to become more competitive
I understand the sentiment, but how much investment does South Africa get? Many of these so-called “smaller countries” have a radically better quality of life, GDP, resources, etc. than South Africa. If they want to take the sport seriously no one is stopping them.

Those smaller countries should include Samoa, Tonga and Fiji. To stop the 'bigger countries' teams having so many of their players representing them. There is so much talent in those countries, imagine if they were financed properly.

What you need is a love for the game and a rich rugby tradition. Despite all of our adversity and our terrible history we’ve come out of it as a colossus in the rugby world. Why? Because we’ve loved the game and treated it as a religion from day 1.
