So many of these old bell buildings still sitting empty or rotting away all over. There’s a really awesome switch building down here in Walterboro with scalloped overhangs and 60s lighting fixtures. So many of these places were built to withstand any natural disaster. Hopefully they hand the decommissioned locations to the local towns for future usage, but that won’t happen….😢
Thanks for the cool share. My grandpa worked for Southwestern Bell for a very long time. We still have some of the old rotary phones he was able to collect/salvage through the years. He passed in the 90's after 30 some-odd years in the business. Was a lineman for a while, then did service calls at peoples homes.
My dad's cousin worked for SWB in DFW and a Technician in 70's, 80's and early 90's also, he bought his first service van when they retired it and he turned it into a camper van. I wonder if your dad and Mike knew each other?
Stratford tire used to be next to the Stratford fire department on Laurel Rd. They moved to that location 20-25 years ago. Definitely in Stratford for a few hundred feet more on that side of the street. Not sure when you took this vid but at about 2-3 months ago someone ran a conduit underground from the pole at your 8:00 minute mark to the corner of the building. There was also a big banner around that area of fence that said it was going to be a storage facility.
*7:27** That where the waste motor oil or transmission/brake fluid and such would go. The station would have a Waste Oil burner and use that for heat in the Winter but the summer they would typically pay someone to remove. If you had a diesel like a Mercedes 300D or 7.3 IDI or Powerstroke or GM 6.2 (not the 6.5 due to an optical sensor) you could filter thru a 1 micron sock filter, add15% gasoline to thin it out and use this as fuel to power your vehicle.*

The random “mm hmm”s and whispering to yourself is classic Sleeve!! I accept your thanks for the Mercury dealer video. I’ve watched it 1,396 of the 1,4000 views.. 😂😂😂
Over the course of the last 20ish years or so it feels like businesses in Stratford have had a very difficult time surviving. Between the shopping center on Warwick Rd which is now gone (Incollingo's was the place to go in the day) and this particular area of Stratford (Berlin Rd, White Horse Pike by the Bradlees) its crazy
This whole TH-cam hit ratio is insanity. Some videos go crazy on views that are the most random subject and some that should snag way more views just die on the vine. Part of the reason we just always need to keep posting with this being a hobby in mind. The keywords are a literal shot in the dark. 🤔🤔🤔
@chm9935 That started around 2019 and finished in 2021. Not sure how many stations got them but Lindenwold, Ashland, Woodcrest I think Ferry Ave and the DRPA building in Camden did. Not sure if it was a lease or buy but it was a sunpower project and I think they just filed for bankruptcy.

Yes, they were well constructed.

That poor lonely Porta Potty, just sitting there in the yard unloved and unwanted :(
I think it's gotten its fair share of ass over the years...
rider divider, a way to uber passengers during covid. Now might need an actual bulletproof divider in some cities.
Santa Sleeve! Can we hang some festive ornaments and lights from that beard? 🎅 😂🎄
Approved for 3-story storage facility. Sleeve what ya filming with? phone? Do you have a Gimbal?
@@42Freeway , I'm just rocking the cellphone, literally. Haven't graduated to the GoPro yet.
As long as it's not another Wawa...even though it seems all we build in NJ anymore are Wawa's and self storage places
Finally demolishing it eh?

They put solar panels up in the parking lot.
