Great video.. I have a whirlpool top load that runs the same way and the setup is the same, direct drive shaft.. Mine was agitating but not spinning when it reached that cycle. Changed the clutch still didn't spin. Checked the coupler and it was good. With the cabinet off I checked to see if the clutch was spinning when the machine was on, it wasn't. Took off the transmission and manually turned the motor, didn't turn. Decided to go into the transmission. As soon as I set free the plate that covers the transmission, where the oil and gears are, about a cup of water rushed out. So I decided to drain all of the oil that was in the transmission, and half was oil and half water. Cleaned the transmission with kerosine and a clean paint brush, allowed it to dry, topped back up the transmission with 16oz oil and assembled the machine.. Machine is now perking, agitating, spinning and working like brand new.. Before this episode I had to change the tub, upper and lower shaft seals due to a leak. I guess what happened was water leaked into the transmission causing the gears to slip.

The washer does washes, drains outvwater but before spinning it wobbles & later it refills water & starts rinse & then spins.But the problem is in the1st phase it does not spin before refilling the water. While operating if the door is opened then it give buzzer sound De code displays & after closed the display dissapers. IHave checked side near to the connection of sensor & removed the connection & cleaned the connector & the sensor connector. It does not have any carbon on it. It does no display De error, 5e code. The refill water n drainage problem. I would like to ask whether it would be problem if drainge pipe is too long and the drainage pipe should be hanged upto washer level to drain.If yes upto how high should it be haged. Could my issue be the clutch? My washer drains but doesn't spin (it just makes a loud whirring/grinding type noise) -- UNTIL -- you open the washer, which pauses the wash cycle, and close it. THEN it starts to spin, drain, and that noise is gone.
My lid lock light flashed when it started the spin cycle. Bought a new lid lock and it still didn't work right. Found out my lid was warped downward. I pushed on the center and it popped back into place like a Snapple lid. Now my lid lock works properly

Timer seems to work ok, except on knits and gentle cycle it doesn't work..Other cycles work fine. So is it my timer or transmission? Drains fine and agitates well. New whirlpool clutch installed 5 months ago. Maybe contacts worn in timer cause when timer is cold it sometimes spins. I notice back of timer gets warm, is that normal?

Unless the smoke is from the new transmission breaking in? Putting a nee timer on today anyways. Can a new transmission stress a 35 year old motor? Motor still wotks though.

OK, so my washer works fine as far as the wash cycle, but it's starting to not spin. I found out that I can twist the agitator (DO NOT TRY THIS!!!, I am not responsible for any injury or damage incurred) a little and it will slowly start spinning, then gets up to normal speed. Sometimes it will work fine for a few times, then I have to do the same thing again. What would be the cause of this??
Every video I have watched skips the part that tells you how to get to the motor how to take the panel off and where to find all that inside. I think a lot of repair people think everybody just automatically knows but we don't

It is not normal for the unit to smoke. If it's smoking you need to determine which part it's coming from and replace it.

Are you unable to find your model number? There should be a sticker around the door area or on the back panel.
