Good Morning GP: Were in the same boat here Montana. It’s been very warm and dry here and very little snow. When it does snow, it melts off quickly. I’m glad the viewer is okay. I also have liquid ballast in my rear tires and I typically run with a ballast box on the back.
Great advice on tractor stability, my friend’s son is a professional equipment operator, he told me to allways remember “if you feel the tractor tipping, immediately put the loader down”! When I move loads, my hand is on that stick ready to,push it forward.
Yes but most little tractors have quick removal loaders. My Kubota does and if all goes well it takes less than five minutes to take the loader off or put it back on. When mowing I usually take the loader off. Without the loader the tractor is much smaller in size and easier to manoeuvre around obstacles.
I put 2" wheel spacers on the back of my B2650 to help with stability. It made a big difference and also allows tire chains to be installed without getting into the hydraulic lines or fenders.
It's El Nino cycle. A You Tube meteorologist (Ryan Hall Y'all) for North America showed a favorable forcast thru December before cold sets in. I'm going for that.
Glad your friend is okay tractor can be repaired. Nice of Ralph to let you use his garage I like the way you guys all work together and help each other that’s awesome.take care and have a great week
Greetings from eastern Ontario. Woke up to 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground. Your safety tips are spot on. Weight on the back of the tractor is critical. Have had a few OH Shucks incidents over the years. Experience is a great teacher though. Cheers.
Good morning Gord, glad that didn't happen to you. Hope all is well around there and that you all are getting together for Christmas. Stay safe and keep up the good videos. Fred..
As a long time snowmobiler myself I feel your pain with snowless winters anymore. And I am down here in Pennsylvania yet. I'd still never sell my sled! All it takes is one good cold snap and a storm to remember how great the sport is. I bet you'll miss the sled at the first snow storm.
Dad does a lot of sledding around deep river the last couple of years. We don't have near the season for it where we are. I was getting all my equipment setup for the winter over the weekend. Tell guy and bobby I said hello. Cheers!!!
Winter is coming GP! Thanks for the four tractor safety tips. I had a close call the other day with the loader off and the backhoe still on. I received a comment on the video to use the backhoe bucket to keep from tipping, but as you said if your new to tractors you may not know this. Thanks for sharing, cheers, Mike.
Hi G.P. We’re getting a lot less snow in Virginia as well. In the 50s and 60s we had snow almost all winter and now it’s very rare to get snow especially measurable snow. Thanks for all your information have a wonderful week
I keep my loader on till I need the blower. Always have a use for the loader & switch back from blower to loader more often than I'd like. So thankful they're made well & relatively easy to be switched! Rototiller stays on as my counter balance.
Ive lived in the Willamette valley for 40+ years now in the pacific NW and our climate is also nothing like it used to be. Its become so hot in summer (116f day 2 years ago) that all of the evergreen trees are dying now. I had to cut down 3 full grown cedars just this year that literally up and died THIS YEAR, I have seen this slowly change for years now. When I was a kid, we used to get a decent amount of snow, many times a year and over the past 10 now, we might get 2 days of snow.
An excellent Video Sir. Safety is the only way to go when you are Operating a Tractor, or Chainsaw, or whatever you handle. For me when cutting wood I use Steel Toe Boots, Chaps, A Helmet, and Heavy Gloves. I do hope you get some Snow before long as maybe you can get into Sledding. Great Video as always Gour, Stay Safe, well and as always the best to you and your Family. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY
The weather sure has changed here in PEI in the last number of years. And not just the winter weather, year round has changed. Have a great day. 🪵🪓🔥🎄👍🏻👋🇨🇦🇨🇦
In the 70s & 80s we had plenty of snow then in 90s & 2000 wasn't enough to keep a sled. 3 years ago I got another sled because we started getting snow again, crazy for sure.
Hi Gord. Today, Dec. 4th, Brock, from Rockhill Farms, posted a video of shelves he built to store his tractor attachments. He had some good ideas. I have been busy improving my long laneway in central Alberta. Today, I woke up to 2 inches of snow. I better finish the lane work today.
Its been the same for centuries. Here in the lower 48 states. Back in the 1800s the Donner party lost many lives going on their journey to Utah. In the early 1920 according to history was a big snow that took some lives and a lot of cattle was buried in snow drifts and froze to death. Now, I'm only 61 years young but here in north central West Virginia I remember a huge snow in 1977. And our high school was closed for a couple of days. Our Winters are normally very mild but in 1993 we had a blizzard with 5 feet of snow and negative temps. I was stranded at work and couldn't get home for three day. This was in mid March. Its hit or miss, some call it climate change but I believe it has always been that way.
Thanks for taking us along Gord . We sure didn’t get the snow that they predicted yesterday. Rained all day and then 3/4 inch of snow overnight in Tweed .
Good tips on tractor stability. When i bought my B7800 in 2006, I asked my home owners ins. agent about insurance for the tractor should I have an accident such as rolling it over. He chuckled and said "We aren't going to cover your stupidity". Sounded harsh at the time but to this day, the Kubota has had the shiny side up and I've learned a ton about tractor safety along the way.
Gord, thinking of you and your family this Christmas and understand your need to concentrate on them this year following your loss my friend. We will be saying a little prayer for you. In our thoughts, Simon and Nathalie x (UK)
I used my BX2380 with a front commercial blower 3 different times so far and I blew out 4 driveways each time. We are right next to Lake Superior and lake effect snow is sure to come. Not as much snow as last year but I had a few 6am seat times in the Kubota. Oh and a little old timer looked me in the eye one day and said “ only two things in this world you can’t control …women and the weather!” I live by that belief.
GP, thank you for showing the “missed approach”…. I beat myself up when that happens because most every other channel does not show that reality. Here’s to a great and prosperous winter for you and the family :)
Good tips GP, but wow when I seen that thumbnail my heart stopped thinking it was you. Hate to see that no matter who it is though and glad he’s ok. Yep winters have been a downer here also for the last few years. Long time snowmobiler also and sold my last sled 2 years ago. Think this has been the longest I’ve been without a snowmobile since I was a young kid. Sure miss it. Hopefully the weather will return like it once was. Have a good week. 👍✊
We have had a good early start to winter here in central VT. Skiing is shaping up nicely. Got 4-8" last night . Washington state and Utah got hammered over the weekend. And Europe has been getting a ton of snow in the Alps. All great news for us skiers!
I believe it is just a cycle of the weather, I remember back in the late 60s I had to haul the snowmobile to the lake to ride it because there was no snow, but in 1964 we had why too much snow
Hi GP, you’ve done it again great information new owners. One thing I would add is that if you can only do some side slope work always make sure you have an exit that you can turn downhill and slow and steady to give more time to react. 🇦🇺🍺🍻
Tottenham area, still waiting before I put the blower on...because I have mid mower deck I have to take off a couple of items before I can put the blower belly mount on. I have a box blade if i need to
GP nice video. Weather is the same here in Southern Maine as in your part of the world. I watch for the migrating geese and have yet to see large flocks of migrants. Migrating geese is a good indication of the winter we will have. It has been very warm for this time of the year. I am trading my B2650(cab) For a BX 23S with a Curtiss Cab. I realized now that I no longer own 90+ acres of land, the B2650 is just too big for 3+ acres of land. WE want the small backhoe to plant pine trees around our property, clean out a drain, and replace the crushed stone around the house. I also feel the B2650 with the cab to be a bit tippy and I have hills around my house and at the end of the driveway. Thank you for all of your words of wisdom you have helped us a lot to understand tractors.
Weather and seasons are variable and cyclical. I understand Canada was pretty dry last winter, we had one of our worst (best) winters last winter in the rockies. We don't have much snow on the ground yet either but summer came late and I anticipate a very snowy winter again this year.
I appreciate your channel and for you not getting political on your channel when talking about climate change. I think everyone whether they admit it or not has seen a big change in weather patterns over the last 20 years no matter where you live.
Have a wonderful pair of holidays coming up GP! Enjoy the family time and we will see your video's when you get back to putting them out. Family is more important this time of year. As you say Cheers GP
I understand missing snow for sledding/snowmaching, but from fairbanks Ak where this year first snowfall was the third of October, and it hasn't, and won't get warm enough to melt again until end of April to beginning of May... I wouldn't mind some warmer weather right now. I do understand ditching a snowmachine if you have to pay a yearly tax on trails, over and above the tax on gas. I hope that poor guy who rolled his tractor has a better month ahead of him. Keep safe out there!
How's she goin'? When all the attachments are off the tractors, it doesn't look like they can work as hard as they do. Good tips about safety. Everyone could gain from following those pointers. Thanks for posting and I hope you get some snow soon!! Take 'er easy!!
Nice video and advice GP - safety never sleeps and my bet is it's not a lucky coin, 5" in the Ottawa valley and you probably received the same at the lake. Totally agree with snowmobiling, I don't buy a trail permit since I only use it for fishing and your exempt from permits as a licensed angler. Cheers and have a great week.
Passes are $207 bought early. It is beneficial, and a second cost, to get a trailer to take advantage of trails further north, Gravenhurst or Parry Sound or Sudbury, all have longer seasons.
Did the same thing 3 years ago and broke my back. My problem was low air in a front tire bucket too high on an angle! I was stupid, stupid, stupid hopefully never that stupid again!
Good tips for all to remember GP, not just newbies. When accidents happen, its usually quick and unsuspected. I hate to see the fella lost control, but am glad he's ok. One thing for sure, he will have learned well a valuable lesson that luckily has a favorable outcome. I'm wondering if the 12 year El Nino cycle has a bit to do with the season shift.... I hope Lady Luck is on your side with your tossing of the dice !!
I'm your age and have had well over a dozen sleds. I stopped at the ski-doo shop to kill time. I seen a sled for $20k! they come a long way from the RV 340 and the blizzard.
Gord, good video...I and a buddy of mine have the same tractor and we both agree its tipsy at times. Wheel spacets are one remedy. In fact, Kubota,s 2024 Lx 2610 or lx2620 has widened its stance and beefed up the transmission
Good Morning GP, very cold and no snow in my Saguenay Region 🥶🥴 GP Your Tractor is SEXY NAKED 🤣👌😎👍 Yes in deed, weather as warm up for sure 🥴Please Be Well GP Cheers 👍👍👌👌🙏🙏😇😇🍻🍻
Morning Gord! We got 5" last night and will be using the blower today 😂 I'm getting to 200 hrs and will be doing that service shortly. My BX looks ridiculous without attachments on it haha. I'm amazed it's so powerful with a backhoe and loader. Have a great week. Glad it wasn't your tractor taking a nap...
Owning a tractor is akin to owning a motorcycle. There are those who have fallen with their bikes, and those who haven't yet. Same thing with the tractor. There are those who have tipped over , and those who haven't yet. I built my own BX23S cab for my tractor. I used 1/8 inch thick metal and it is built in the likes of the deluxe Curtis cab. Thing is top heavy but would survive a zombie apocalypse!!! Because of that extra top weight heavy, I had to add wheel spacers to make it wider and also filled up the I would have needed the FEL last winter but like you Gordon, I had it buried under the snow covered tarp. This year, I'm ready for good. I built an enclosure to keep all my attachments in one area, out from under the wet weather of the Maritimes. What I like about it is that I can open the door, roll right in, pin it, then use it freely!!! One thing I liked about the Kubota purchase was the included insurance for the duration of the loan. No brainer. Once it is up, I will be adding coverage on it for sure. We are human. We are prone to make mistakes....over and over and over... lol Have a great day my friend. ☺
Great advice Gord on the safety tips. Also, you are a braver man than me...these days even a mention of "climate" triggers a lot of folks! I'm a big chicken! 😉 Wishing you and your family can findthe light of peace and joy this Christmas season. All the best...
The weather is changing & the magnetic field is also changing. Some say we're getting close to a pole shift. It happens every 15,000 years or so. We are getting Aurora borealis here in California, which is also not normal. Guaranteed is change.
A very Merry Christmas and safe and Happy New Year to you and your family Gord! Thank you for your informative and entertaining videos and look forward to seeing more in the new year. Cheers! 👍
GP the two things you forgot to mention. are that the new series tractors have been narrowed without turn out wheels and the other was that they sit handsomely higher which when put together makes for a unstable tractor.I myself for myself and tractor on its side with the rope and rear blade keeping it from going over.Awsom tractor but they have suffered a loss😮
I find the LX top heavy and not very stable at all on uneven grounds.Great idea on the wheel spacers, unfortunately they won't clear the mower deck if you have one installed.
Snowmobile 😂..Here in Mirabel, Québec. Those types of winter toys are not a wise investment anymore. Better with an ATV and put tracks on it. Can use it all year long. ✨❄️👋🏼❄️ Be blessed. ❄️
Good morning GP, I did my 400 hour service at the end of September and have put another 60 hours on since then. It's been a year and a half since I bought the tractor. Great reminder and tips to keep safe on these dangerous machines. Glad to hear the owner of the tipped tractor is ok. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoying watching your videos...your better than the Kubota salesman I talked with yesterday. Curious if you still have the LX2610 and has it done the job you wanted it to do. First time buyer here and trying to make the right choice,,,2610...2620...are they the same or is the 2620 just the latest model? Thanks again for your opinions and easy to watch videos. Maine here and getting ready for winter...
Well thanks very kindly. Yes and Yes. I'll try not to answer too long. It has done virtually everything I need _ I am happy I changed to get the cab model -air and heat and protection from the black flies and heat in the summer, and from the winds and cold in winter. I just turned 60 and although perhaps not "old" yet, it sure is easier on the old body. :) The 2620 is the latest model but has several improvements. For example, you can hear the loud hydraulic whine mine has on the videos - the new transmission on the 2620 is much quieter and I believe the transmission is smoother, among other things. I would offer that you have them fill the back tires with beet juice, add kubota OEM wheel spacers to the rear tires for added stability as well as will allow you to put chains on if you need to ( no spacers - you won't be able to fit the chains on the tires), and if you think you may need remotes on the back, have them add it at the dealer at purchase. Having them added afterwards is $$$$$. I can't say from experience but I have the R4 tires and many many folks say the R14's are better for traction in the winter and also easier on your lawn. Ask them to test drive it around the parking lot before you decide. I am 5'10" and I Just fit in it. My neighbour Guy is about 6'4" and he can NOT fit in there. No leg room to operate the pedals comfortably . LOL. Honest , 440 hours now and not a single issue. :)) Best of luck choosing and congrats on your new Tractor!
@@GPOutdoors Hi again....what did you mean by adding remotes to the back? Do you mean third function? 60???...your just a young man....68 here and I get the "Body aches" scenario...An old timer once told me it doesnt get any better. Thanks for the spacer suggestion too...whats the cost on those?
@@Cully-m8t LOL! No I mean remote hydraulic-connections to the rear - for example I have a hydraulic rear blade that I connect to remotes located on the back of the tractor. 3rd function valve for front mounted hydraulics like my grapple. Cheers!
Gordon what lake is that it is very beautiful. We got 5 inches of snow here this weekend and it is staying around. Have a merry Christmas with your family. I know this is your first one without your daughter. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Are you gonna do a 400 hour service video on your 2610 like you did for the 50 hour mark? I hope so, your 50 our service video was really good and helpful.
This is my second season for my Cab LX3310 kubota. I like everything about it including the front mount snowblower. The only thing I don't like is the treadle pedal. I haven't heard you talk about it. I was just wondering if you like using it or have you made a change? If you made a change could you explain what you did. Thank you and Merry Christmas. Bernie.
Good Morning GP: Were in the same boat here Montana. It’s been very warm and dry here and very little snow. When it does snow, it melts off quickly. I’m glad the viewer is okay. I also have liquid ballast in my rear tires and I typically run with a ballast box on the back.
No snow here is Minnesota yet either. I also don’t have my snowblower on yet. Nothing in the forecast.
*Keep on tractoring!*
Great advice on tractor stability, my friend’s son is a professional equipment operator, he told me to allways remember “if you feel the tractor tipping, immediately put the loader down”! When I move loads, my hand is on that stick ready to,push it forward.
Great tip and yes. A downed bucket is your lifeline!
Too bad if you don’t have the loader on.
@@kdegraa Always have a loader, and if you're buying second hand make sure there are loaders available as well, if not = Turn around and walk away.
Yes but most little tractors have quick removal loaders. My Kubota does and if all goes well it takes less than five minutes to take the loader off or put it back on. When mowing I usually take the loader off. Without the loader the tractor is much smaller in size and easier to manoeuvre around obstacles.

you can flip the spokes too

Good tips Gord! I need to remember the seatbelt. You get comfortable on flat ground but then when you’re not on flat ground the habit isn’t there.
Did the same thing 3 years ago and broke my back. My problem was low air in a front tire bucket too high on an angle! I was stupid, stupid, stupid hopefully never that stupid again!
I am sorry to hear that Robert. I hope you are fully recovered. Cheers!
I hope Lady Luck is on your side with your tossing of the dice !!
thats why kubota dealer has ktac insuarnce optional
Morning T! Me too - just keeping my fingers crossed. All the best to everyone there!
Always great info GP , take care and have a great Christmas with your friends and family from the Nickle city
Morning Gord, we’ve only got 2” of snow up here at the Cay. Sold my sled too! Have a great week. ☕️☕️🍻😊
I'm your age and have had well over a dozen sleds. I stopped at the ski-doo shop to kill time. I seen a sled for $20k! they come a long way from the RV 340 and the blizzard.
Great tips Gord! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year if we don’t hear from you before then!
LOL! You too Dave!
Thanks for the video, Gord. Season's Greetings to you and your family
Because of that extra top weight heavy, I had to add wheel spacers to make it wider and also filled up the
I would have needed the FEL last winter but like you Gordon, I had it buried under the snow covered tarp.
We are prone to make mistakes....over and over and over... lol
Have a great day my friend. ☺
Have a great holiday with your family and friends and Merry Christmas to all your subscribers 🌲
Great advice Gord on the safety tips. Also, you are a braver man than me...these days even a mention of "climate" triggers a lot of folks! I'm a big chicken! 😉
Wishing you and your family can findthe light of peace and joy this Christmas season. All the best...
Homestead builds great implements!
we wish you and your family great health and a wonderfull new year . enjoy the holidays . god bless
Our weather is ever changing!!! Hopefully you'll get enjoy your family with the unusual weather. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Merry Christmas GP
Hi there I live in Kapuskasing love your video I work on all heavy logging equipment operator (ty Ron
In Sweden we have about 20" snow and it is very cold.
Is there a set of tracks coming for the ATV to offset the loss of your snowmobile? Time to put the tire chains on too.
Snowmobile 😂..Here in Mirabel, Québec. Those types of winter toys are not a wise investment anymore. Better with an ATV and put tracks on it. Can use it all year long. ✨❄️👋🏼❄️ Be blessed. ❄️
Also when you're carrying a load down an incline you should drive backwards down the slope with the load above you. If not you risk losing the load.
Wow- You have been super busy JO! That's great - it's a good feeling having it there to help accomplish your projects and chores. have a nice week!
Hope that sub is ok after rolling his tractor. Insurance is a must
The best protection against theft and accident is quality insurance and cowman cense.
Oh and get the insurance. Your homeowner's policy will not cover the tractor. :))
What cameras do you use when filming these videos. Getting a 360 camera vibe from this one.
It’s an El Niño year this season that’s why the warmer than normal
Are you gonna do a 400 hour service video on your 2610 like you did for the 50 hour mark? I hope so, your 50 our service video was really good and helpful.
Any ballast inside rear tires? Windshield washer fluid, calcium etc?
This is my second season for my Cab LX3310 kubota. I like everything about it including the front mount snowblower. The only thing I don't like is the treadle pedal. I haven't heard you talk about it. I was just wondering if you like using it or have you made a change? If you made a change could you explain what you did. Thank you and Merry Christmas. Bernie.
