You are an amazing person. Living in Canada, we are fortunate to live in a "We Society" versus a "Me Society". We cherish our Universal Healthcare System. It is not perfect but no system is. We have our own battles with right wing politicians who insist on cutting funding. This crisis has been a wake up call for those politicians. Peeps don't believe the right wing propaganda in your country that say that Canada's system does not work. It does work. We don't lose our homes because we can't pay our medical bills. Our system focuses on patient care versus making a profit. We chose our own GP's. We never see a bill for the service provided. etc etc. And all at a much lower cost than the USofA.
Our government is charging for more and more things every year.
Stop lying. Canada sucks.
I would only go to our hospitals unconscious, in an ambulance.
Maybe you just don't know about all the deaths in Canadian hospitals due to malpractice or rampant viruses killing people that went in for minor reasons. Because if our laws, families cannot sue doctors or hospitals.
There are 3rd world countries with better healthcare than Canada. All of our MD grads go south. We get packees for doctors that are as useless as AOC is as a politician.

I know maternal mortality rate has decreased for first world countries overtime except the US, but you control for demographic and it exposes the issue of poverty contributing bc of high rates of cardiac issues for mothers who die from childbirth in the US.

Medicare for All has additional benefits as well. Once the government takes responsibility for the payment of healthcare, the government realizes it is cheaper to make things healthier for people. That means improvements to other policies like the amount of pollution allowed in our air and water, food and safety inspection rules, sick time allowed, investment in cures, etc. Once the people's health has value, the government has a reason to care for and actually defend our citizens rather than allowing corporations to make money off of us regardless of consequences.
