My understanding is that in Israel, citizens are supposed to be armed, even on the beach. Can you explain why nobody was armed? While I was waiting for him one of the things I did was to watch late night news. One night I was up and the Oslo Accords were on live late night and as I saw the discussion and debate I came to realize that I could understand where the PLO were coming from. And I as a ten year old boy knew nothing about politics except that, I knew there was something wrong with what I was watching on TV. As a dual citizen of US and Israel, I was ready to be very uncomfortable with your take on the situation. But I find your analysis contains sound facts, and also the righteous heart that is missing from so much of the political talk I read and hear. What I don’t agree with you is labeling war crime to people who are the occupied people who have a right to defend themselves from a system of apartheid, violence, and human rights violation for decades. United Nations have also addressed this and stated as much.

My one critique of your comment, is that testosterone does not generally cause psychotic mass murder. Testosterone is a normal hormone that literally all humans have. I would not conflate a normal healthy hormone, with mass murder/international arms dealing. Your own government failed you. My question is, why weren't the settlers armed from the beginning, similar to those in the West Bank? My understanding is that in Israel, citizens are supposed to be armed, even on the beach. Can you explain why nobody was armed? I see videos of old women labeled as civilians, but the draft is mandatory for both male and female citizens in Israel. Natalie Portman, in a press conference in Israel, was accused of being a draft dodger by a female Israeli reporter. Natalie defended herself, explaining she left Israel at 5 years old because her parents wanted to move to America. The reporter insisted she could have returned to serve at least one term, but Natalie emphasized her support through donations to the IDF memorial fund. Despite her explanations, the Israeli reporter wasn't willing to let her off the hook.

Thanks for allowing me to comment on this. I'll go back to when I was 10 years old waiting for my Dad to get home from a late night out. While I was waiting for him one of the things I did was to watch late night news. One night I was up and the Oslo Accords were on live late night and as I saw the discussion and debate I came to realize that I could understand where the PLO were coming from. And I as a ten year old boy knew nothing about politics except that, I knew there was something wrong with what I was watching on TV. And after spending the night looking at the debate I knew I was a Palestinian supporter.
