THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. You and I have very similar hair - I have 2A/2B and have NO idea how to operate with it. I have always had pin straight hair until college, and I've been a manic straightener for years. In the past 5 or so years, I've given up with the straightener unless for fancy occasions, and almost ALWAYS wear my hair in a pony, bun, or braid because i just have NO IDEA WHAT TO DO! You're amazing. Thank you so much. PS. LOVE your shirt.
I have type 2 hair and one of my favorite products is the Aunt Jackie’s Don’t Shrink Gel. It has a really nice hold, but it leaves my hair soft and not crunchy. It is also enriched with flaxseed and other stuff so it helps with hair growth. Hope this is helpful to someone!😁
Thank you! Thank you for cutting out the music!! I can hear you clearly and am not distracted. Perfect! Also, love the new list of products I made watching....
I’ve spent over 1k when I first started. But luckily for me, I saved ALL my receipts and returned 90% of EVERYTHING I PURCHASED!!! Girl, it’s crazy. From towels, to brushes, to pillow cases, to heat caps, sleep bonnets, defuser, blow dryer, scrunchies, masks, leave ins, gels, conditioners, foams, mousses, renew spray, creams, scalp treatments, hair oil, shampoos… I could go on and on! But guess what? I’ve settled with the Giovanni Silk shampoo & conditioner, Curls blueberry leave in conditioner, Uncle Funky’s daughter curl stimulator, and Kinky Curls custard. After plopping with the Perfect Towel, I will defuse with the Babyliss blow dryer and the Seabeauty curl defuser. Then once a month I will use the Kristen Ess Shampoo, the Inasi Hemp hair mask with the thermal cap. On refresh days I use Innersense Foam. This is my perfect hair playlist ➿🎶
I just discovered you a few weeks ago and watching you made me FINALLY jump in and actually start the cgm for real .....instead of just playing around with it. I have the same hair 2A, B, C, with 3A thrown in, when it feels like it. I am currently buying SOOO many products!! But is fun. I've taken care of my hair for years, only washing 1-2(mostly) times a week, no blow drying or diffusing, except having my hair blown out 6-8 times a year when I get it colored or for a special event. Because of you I actually feel like I can do cgm!!
You're the absolute sweetest! I just found your channel and am also just learning about the curly girl method. Thank you for making such informative videos!
Hey, girl! Just found your channel, and I'm really enjoying it! Can you please make a video explaining why you reach for specific products? When do you choose a protein, how much is too much protein, etc.?? Thank you!!
You have to try the kinky curly knot today! I even use it as a conditioner if my hair has been feeling to heavy. Melts knots away and makes my hair super soft. Lasts forever too! Only use a tiny bit. I cant live without my uncle funkys either👍😊
I certainly DO remember getting oatmeal baths when I had chickenpox! Oh, and being slathered with that most attractive dusty-pink calamine lotion! Ay-ay-ay!
Love Uncle Funky's Daughter's Curl Magic, it REALLY brings out my curls and doesn't take much, although my hair is short. I can't wait for my hair to get long enough to squish! I just today tried the Jessicurl curl enhancer so will have to see how that goes. I really like watered down aloe vera juice with a couple of sprays of rose water as a leave-in/refresh spritz, it's just enough conditioner and doesn't weight my hair down. (I spray rose water straight on my face as a moisturizer.) I've found that the Bioterra gel, the alcohol free one, works delightfully on my fine locks.
Thanks for the video Courtney. Some of my favs so far are the Giovanni Smooth as Silk Shampoo & Conditioner and the Direct Leave In; As I Am Cowash and Leave In; Shea Moisture 100% Coconut Shampoo & Conditioner; Shea Moisture Sacha Inchi Oil Omega 3,6,9 Defining Smoothie; Dippity Do Girls w/Curls Gelee. I also like several of the DevaCurl products but found that I can't use them exclusively. I have to change up after a few weeks. I haven't tried Jessiecurl or Moptop yet but they are on my list.
I love the Acure Mega Moisture Shampoo! It's been my go to shampoo for years. It cleanses well, has a good amount of suds, but isn't stripping at all! I also really like the Acure Clarifying Shampoo, which I use about twice a month. And Jessicurl Too Shea conditioner is my favorite conditioner!
Just wanted to drop by and let u know I just started using mop top, TreLuxe, Jessicurl and Innersence. These are my holy grail products now because of ur channel. Thank u so much for all ur videos. I always go back and watch ur videos if I have questions or have an issue with something. Ur the best!!!
So glad I found your channel! I have wavy hair and am finding my hair likes protein too. I use the Giovanni tea tree shampoo and love it! I need to get their smooth as silk conditioner because I used to use it and remember that it made my hair unbelievably soft! ❤️
I have 2c/3a waves and curls but haven’t really spend the time or money to bring out the full potential of my hair. I want to do that now and see where my hair goes
Now several years later and having tried more products would you still choose these same products as your top picks or change some out? Would love to see an updated version!!
Hi Courtney your hair looks like spun silk so your recipe is working for you. I am currently liking curl mix as I come to realize my hair likes flaxseed I also make my own flax gel .. Thank you for very informative videos!
Jackie--how curly is your hair? Mine is mostly 2b, and while I loved the way the flaxseed gel left my hair so incredibly soft and bouncy and how it looked the first day, it did not hold my curl for the second day. I had to soak it completely, add more flaxseed gel...and restyle it again as if it was wash day. I don't have to do all that when I use my Spiralicious gel. Does your curl pattern last? I'm thinking of adding sugar to the gel I have in the fridge because I've seen recipes that suggest it'll hold better that way. Do you add anything else to yours? Thanks in advance!
@@irairod5160 Hi Irai yes I add silk protein aloe vera vit e oil a few drops of Rosemary oil..... Try curl mix holds my hair all week.... I am 3b type😆
Thank you for doing this video! My hair is exactly like yours and seems to react to products exactly like yours. So thank you so much for doing this video!
I love all your videos and you have helped me so much on my curly girl journey! I was wondering if you could do a video on how you style your hair for fancy events, such as a wedding! Now that I can't use curling irons/straighteners, I'm at a loss for what to do with my hair for those types of events. Thanks Courtney!
Why hello, Miss Courtney! I SO enjoy your videos, and thought I'd add a couple of my faves to your list. For conditioner (you can leave it in or wash it out- I usually wash out approx 85%), I LOVE Kinky Curly Knot Today conditioner. For a refresher, I've had great results with Curls Lavish Curls Moisturizer 2nd Curl Refresher (which, by the way, can also be your leave in conditioner). It's very lightweight and non-stick and can be used on dry refreshing (my hair either doesn't like wet refreshing, or I just haven't figured out the right formula). I get a really good gel cast with Curlsmith In Shower Fixer on super soaked hair. And! Last but not least, for a lightweight leave in conditioner (should you use one- I know you mentioned you don't always), I recommend Mielle White Peony leave in. It's pretty new I guess, and my hair really responds well to it. Thank you for all of your videos- you're smart, funny, bright, beautiful AND killer hair- The Whole Package! 😘
Hello! I’m new to your channel. I am getting a curly cut in a few days and just trying to soak up as much info about the curly girl method as possible. Thank you for all of your videos, they are all so helpful!
I think my all time favorite product ever is the Treluxe gel. I feel like it's a hard hold gel for me. Moptop custard and daily conditioner are things I've reordered multiple times because they are great products. Love the bouncecurl clump cream also.
I love your videos. You’re very entertaining to watch and your videos are very informative as well. Thank you! I hope to find the right products on my curly hair journey and will try the ones you’ve mentioned in this video.
I had the same "Buy now! Buy everything!" experience, in part, I believe, because I was one of those people who never realized that with the right products and techniques, curls would appear (and stay) in my hair. I was so delighted by the discovery, that I threw myself down the rabbit hole of trying *eeeeeeverything* at the same time, only to realize that most curly girls have hair that needs more moisture, protein, repairing, control, and general "fussing over" than mine. I have since pared down both my routine and my products...but I'm still trying to give away bottles and bottles of gels, shampoos, mousse, conditioners...thank you for sharing your favorites. It's good to see products that work for fine hair with loose waves.
haha it's so easy to want to buy all the things! I'm so glad if you have pinned down exactly what works for you! I think there are forums on Facebook where you could sell your lightly used products. Or you could donate them to you local women's shelter! I've done that, given away products that weren't working for me!
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Thank you for the reply and suggestion. I tried donating my things to a handful of women shelters but none would take products that had been opened. I did give some to a homeless lady I see a lot in my neighborhood and she was soooooo happy! (I also gave her a box of toiletries, including *sanitary pads* , which I've learned are a commodity at shelters. I'm mentioning it here as a matter of public awareness; I hope you don't mind. Period products and large-size bras, 40DD and above, are in high demand across the country. PSA over.) Thank you, again, for sharing your favorites. Your list is very helpful to wavies like me who need their curls "woken up" and "activated"!
I recently started the CG method and I'm at the product junkie stage right now. I'm buying tons to figure out which works best. Like you, I was shocked when my hair had waves/curls after I applied gel following one of Courtney's videos. I always thought I had straight hair! I now want more and more curls. ;-)
@@jessesmith8388 I feel you! Imagine this--I used to PERM my hair every 3 months because mine was neither straight nor curly, or so I believed. (That was in the 80s...I'm a "woman of a certain age" now. ) To realize, well into my 50s, that I can "coax" natural waves to appear in my hair has been quite a thrill. Social media might have brought many "wrong" things to life, but the collective teaching and learning that it's made possible is undeniably a high point.
Hi Courtney! Your videos are amazing I’ve learned so much! How do I know if my hair reacts badly to protein? In your videos you mention that your hair reacts badly, and other TH-camrs say the same. What happens? XOXO C
Please help. What is a typical routine look like. Getting my daughter started on CGM she has between 2B and 2C and we never did anything before but wash her hair. ;-(
that colour shirt looks lovely on you :) thank you for all the info you've provided - sitting here with a big ol' fuzzy bush on my head (clarification was needed) starting on my journey ':D
when i was little, i had wavy hair but once i started using heat, my hair became STRAIGHT... so i started going natural: no heat, no dye and my waves are slowly coming back! BUT i don’t know how to take care of it? like what products can help my hair encourage its curls? SOS
Just started cg method a week ago, my hair are a mess, frizzy dry, sont really know what to use and what not, gona buy all of these and see which one would work for me, i have 3b curly low porosity hair Thanx for this video
I just got a line up from this. I wanted the Gel by Giovanni, but they didn't have it. Hopefully this works :) I've definitely been a bit stressed trying to pick the right stuff. Thank you for this Courtney!!
Love the vid! You should try kinky curly! I would love to see what it does with your hair. And what did you use on your hair today?? It looks really good!
Thank you Grace! I have tried the Kinky Curly Knot Today and I like it but I don't love it. The Custard though it amazing! This was the day I did an all Bounce curl wash day.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney have you ever tried the Cantu Define & Shine Custard? Many people say it is the exact same as the kinky curly custard, just for a way cheaper price...would love to hear your opinion on that xxx
Love the Giovanni TTTT, especially in the winter when my scalp is drier. My favorite shampoo is actually being discontinued. The weightless Fruit Fusion line from Shea Moisture is my all time favorite, and the deep conditioner is incredible. Makes my hair feel light as a feather, but also moisturized. The mousse is a favorite curl enhancer as well. I bought so many backups of everything because I'll honestly cry when I finally run out. Nothing has been better for my fine wavy hair. And my favorite gel is 100% the LA Looks sport. I have tried others and always go back to LALSG. My hair just loves it. Tried Aussie IF because it doesn't have glycerin and my hair ended up a flat frizzy mess. LA Looks 4lyfe lol
The fruit fusion line by sheamoisture was my favorite too😫 Gave my hair volume and definition. I really don't understand why companies do this smh. I only have a bit of deep conditioner left😭 I would go to TJ Maxx and Marshall to occasionally find small bottles of shampoo but now they are all gone. I really hope sheamoisture brings this line back.
I’m so excited that I found your videos because I feel like we have identical hair/curl type. I can’t wait to try the Trelux and Inahsi lines! Have you tried any of the Innersense products?
I stay away from Innersense products as many of them are high in palm oil, an ingredient that is responsible for the clear felling and burning of an enormous amount of forest habitat around the world and for the displacement of the orangutan who used to call these forests home.
You mentioned in a comment above that you used Bounce curls the day you made this video. Your hair looks amazing. Can you remember exactly what you used and in what order? I would love to try and recreate your look. We have extremely similar hair except mine is thin in addition to being fine. I live in Florida so humid all the time. Of your favs, are there better ones for humid weather? I’m overwhelmed with all the options.
I also adore KCCC and UF. I mix them and use as a one and done. I’m high porosity and KCCC gives me a hard cast. I usually skip hard hold gels they make my hair feel gunky and gross, with the exception of JessieCurl.
Great video and explanations to what and why you like each product! Devacurl hasn't worked for me in the past but I realized I was using their original lo poo (too hydrating) and their gels and the gels have waaaay to much glycerin in them for me (made my hair brittle). I'm trying their full delight line now (only because I can get an incredible deal on them)! I tried the frizz free foam because of your recommendations of using foams and had really good success. Great one a done for a summer no hassle hairday (since I'm in the pool every day with my kiddos!) I think I'm going to alternate with bounce curl to clarify with like every 3 washes and see what happens...dont know why I'm spilling my guts lol! Depending in results I may try some of your suggestions especially that trelux brand! Very intreging! I seriously don't want to be a product junkie....but this way of caring for my hair is sooooo different than anything I've ever known!
Hahah I know, it is so so easy to become a product junkie. I'm glad if the Deva curl foam is working for you! Yeah, deva curl is very hit or miss for me too!
Just found this channel! Love it and you! Your approach is easy to follow and I love your energy! I'm also interested in what protein does for hair?! Why do you need it?! I'm following you for all my curly needs! Thanks!
Hair needs protein because it is 90% protein. And when we add so much moisture to our hair it can become over moisturized and weak and more susceptible to damage. Think about pruny fingers after being in the bathtub too long. Protein lends structure to the hair. It’s kind of a tricky concept. But it’s all about balance.
That's such a great answer! Can you tell us also how can we tell when our hair needs protein compared to when it needs moisture? I find it really hard to know what my hair needs. Thank you so much. Love your locks! :)
Have you tried any curl junkie products, than Reapir me? I've found that the Pattern Pusha gel mixes beautifully with Treluxe pdoducts.... the treluxe cream and the gel...
Swavy Curly Courtney yeah... no, shipping Inahsi to Italy would be 40 € only of shipping. Giovanni is on amazon prime, but it is expensive too! Luckily yesterday I found an ethnic shop selling some Cantu and good stuff, and I grabbed them. I still paid quite a bit (nothing is under 10), but it wasn’t like 20/25 a can, so I’m happy! Can’t wait to try them! I’m just starting in this journey: got my big chop and off I go!
Hey!! Thanks for all your videos, first of all. I am trying to reduce wet frizz in my low density/low porosity hair and I'm thinking it might be time for a deep condition. Would you recommend the jessicurl from your video to someone with low density? I struggle with stuff that "normal" hair people use that just weighs my hair down. Currently I just use the Hair Dance Ultra Light instant conditioning as a leave it. It has protein but I don't think it's cutting it anymore. Thanks again!
I'm still having problems getting the back of my hair to remain curly. I saw that you had Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee listed as one of your styling products. Will it provide firm hold for my curls? If not, can you recommend any other firm holding products? Thank You!
Hi Courtney=) I JUST found your channel & I am on a mission to get products you've recommended TODAY!! i can't wait to see how theses work for my 2a/2b hair. I can NOT find the video that shows what you put into that spray bottle with the black top. Will you please send me a link OR just tell me what you have in there??
I have been binge watching your videos! They are great and I'm excited but also nervous to start the curly hair method. I still have lots to learn. But have you tried any Curlsmith products? Or has anyone on here tried the Curlsmith brand yet? I would say I have similar hair to you. Like I said I still have lots to learn.
I have tried Curlsmith! Many girls really really love that brand, and get great results! Sadly I found those products slightly too heavy for my fine, barely wavy hair.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Thank you for responding back! That is great to know, I may return my rash purchase I made yesterday at Ulta of the Curlsmith box set. It was the last one left and bought it knowing I could return it, so I might just start simple before exploring. I did like the more eco friendly and vegan ingredients, but I might try the Simple Curl products from the etsy shop you mentioned in one of your videos. I can't remember if I asked in a different video, but since I've been using sulfate / silicone free products for a while could I start co-washing right away? I do use dry shampoos and some styling products that may have sulfate in them, so should I do the clean slate still? I am using the Maui shampoo and Love Beauty & Planet conditioner, are those approved brands? Sorry for the long message and I saw that your dad was in the hospital, praying for speedy recovery!
What are your thoughts on the Shea Moisture Curly and Shine shampoo and conditioner?? I’ve just started to do the cgm and I have very similar hair to you, I got the shampoo and conditioner I listed above! (it’s sulfate, silicone, alcohol etc. free)
If you don't know if you need protein or moisture, could you do a mask of each on either side of your head and see a big difference? If you had to pick one mask for protein and one for moisture what would those two be?
My favorite product is the Jessicurl Spiralicious Styling Gel. I find that I can use different shampoos and conditioners and be happy with the results, but every time I use a different styler, I'm just not as satisfied. I'm using the "As I Am" leave-in conditioner but planning to try the Curls Blueberry Bliss next.
I'm trying really not to become a product hoarder too and just use what I've got at the moment. I'm being good so far but it's so hard when I just wanna try everything!!😂
Thank you for sharing your products ❤️ ...also is Anyone going through that transitioning stage when the top layer of the hair is straight compared to the inner layer? And My hair is so soft but frizzy is that a sign that I need protein?
This is something that a lot of people experience. I actually have different curl patterns all over my head. But typically the top lay of our hair has the most wear and tear due to wind, sun, and extra straightening because it's on top.
I just found your channel and really love your videos!! Thank you for the great information you provide to us curly girls still figuring out what products to try!
What do you recommend for an affordable drug store deep conditioner for after clarifying? I've been using the Lange Rehab mask but I haven't seen you review and Lange products and we have similar hair. I've heard about like the Garnier 1 minute mask but what do YOU recommend from like a Target/Walmart?
I'm considering starting this but I'm curious how long it took you to see results once you switched. The back of my hair is really curly without me trying but the front takes a lot of coaxing so I'm a little nervous. I think my hair is a lot like yours from what you've described in your videos. I hate washing my hair daily so I'm nervous about that too because dry shampoo is my current best friend.
Most curly girls try for more than 2 or 3 days between washing/co-washing, so you're not alone there. I really like the Uncle Funky's Daughter's Curl Magic to help bring out my curls and it doesn't take much for me but my hair is short! Look for their sample packs at Wal-Mart or Amazon. Currently, as in just today, I'm trying the Jessicurl curl enhancer so I'll have to see how that goes. As for how long? Well, that depends on your hair. Have you been heat styling, chemically dying or processing it? It can take as long as it takes you to grow out some "virgin" hair, or it could be as few as a couple of weeks. If you haven't gotten a copy of the Curly Girl Method Handbook by L. Massey that's a good place to start. NaturallyCurly.com is another great resource but be aware they will make you want all. the. things! LOL! Holler out if you have more questions! Best of luck to you and your burgeoning curls! 😄
I would say that is took me about 3-4 months before I was seeing results that I liked consistently. I wish my hair was curly without alot of coaxing! Haha don't let that make you nervous! That is a good thing! And dry shampoo was (and is) my best friend too! I actually use baby powder often at night (just a very light dusting and massaged in well) to soak up excess oil. It works really well!
You had a video awhile back featuring Ayurvedic products, but I can't seem to find that video or the products. Would give me a name and/or a link? Thank you.
I am just starting in the curly girl method and I believe I have 2b/2c hair........I need help or is this really that stressful to start my hair wants to curl when I use the products but after the scrunch out crunch it’s curly for the first 2 hours and then it all falls away and my bottom half is kinda wavy I’m struggling I have been doing it for 2 weeks
I tried ounce curls clarifying shampoo then curl junkie repair me then used the Denman brush to style in curls leave in conditioner and orange marmalade gel and it was a total fail. My hair is shiny but very flat and hardly no curl. Is that too much protein doing that? It never looks like this
Hi! Thank you so much for your video. I just started watching. I have very fine hair as well but unfortunately very little of it as well. I'm trying the uncle funky's daughter. My hair changes textures or something when I apply it. Almost like it soaks it up. Is that the flash drying you talk about or is that normal? If so, should I continue to use it? Thanks so much for your help! 😊
My hair soaks up certain products as well. It's only flash drying when your clumps break up and tons of frizz appears. The Giovanni gel soaks into my hair, like it disappears, but there is not flash drying with it. I think you may just be doing a very good job applying your products!
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Thank you so much Courtney! I've only been doing CG for about 4 months and still trying to figure it all out. What one & done would you recommend for very fine & not oily at all hair. You mentioned 2 but not sure which one to try first. Thank you, thank you again!!
HEEEELP! I did an olaplex treatment prior to getting my hair cut and colored. Well my first wash day after color my hair looks like straw. I think I may have too much protein now in my hair. So I am looking at all of my deep conditioners and they have mostly have some sort of protein in them which I am trying to avoid. One protein that I have noticed is wheat protein. It is far down on the ingredients list but still there. I need some advice! Please HELP!
Not yet. I’m not sure my habits are consistent enough to make a video about it. LOL! I kind of just play with my hair every wash day and see what it needs.
Finally purchased the curl junkie repair me. I may have cried a little lol but I can’t wait to try it. I also tried the uncle funky’s daughter and my hair loves it! All of the products you have suggested have helped my hair so much.
What about Bounce Curl? I have been wanting to try it, and just purchased based on your last video. I too like Mop Top and the Repair Me. I also just purchased and tried the Blueberry Bliss. Wow! It is amazing! Thanks for the tips!
I do love Bounce Curl! It can be really hard to narrow down my favorite product sometimes. I nearly included them in this video. But I didn’t want it to be any longer than it already was. All of these products are amazing! They are like my children, I hate choosing between! LOL!
I would think twice about the As I Am coconut Cowash as it contains a chemical called Methylisothiazolinone which is highly toxic and is banned in several countries including Canada and Germany. It also makes your hair fall out.
Ive never heard of the itchy M’s as being highly toxic or causing your hair to fall out. From my research, they were removed/banned in the EU because of allergic reactions some people have. Here’s one article about them: redcarpetcurls.com/the-science-behind-the-itchy-ms-methylchloroisothiazolinone-and-methylisothiazolinone/
The annoying thing is I’m only 15 so my mum buys my hair products for me and I can’t try out all different one’s because it would be too expensive for my mum and I really hayeee my hair It’s so thick and sticks outwards and is fizzy 😭😭
new to this journey- have shoulder length 2B high porosity (colored) low density fine hair. what type of hair do you have ? feel like i heard you say that in one of the many many videos I've watched over the last few days but now can't recall. some things weigh my hair done - but if it's not weighed down it seems so frizzy.
Mattie Sun it’s hard to explain. It’s a very small amount of texture. I’m usually suuuuuper annoyed by any texture in my hair but this is just the right amount.
I need a shampoo for itchy inflamed scalp but it’s dry. Most shampoos that address that issue are so drying and stripping. I do oil massage but I don’t want to over do it. Otherwise my scalp will never be encouraged to produce oil. Anyone have any suggestions.
Tracy id recommend the As I Am Itchy Scalp Cowash. It’s made with olive and tea tree oil which really calms down itchy scalps, but its a cowash instead of a shampoo so it won’t dry you out.
I was just reading about Scalp brushes. Find out if there's one that will help you. Some say good for sensitive skin others for dandruff. Others for good cleansing.
Amber Smith Haha it’s funny you should mention scalp brushes! I wish I had included this one in this video. I loooove this scalp brush! amzn.to/2Jfe2fe

think that's like 2a

Like sometimes its more straight , sometimes its curly , sometimes its 2a , or 2c like make up ur mind jeez

Yeay! Thank you! I'm so glad if these videos are helpful!

Alena Cade I third this please
You have to try the kinky curly knot today! I even use it as a conditioner if my hair has been feeling to heavy. Melts knots away and makes my hair super soft. Lasts forever too! Only use a tiny bit.
I cant live without my uncle funkys either👍😊
I have tried KKKT before! If was pretty good but a tad too moisturizing, even when I only used a dot of it. My sister absolutely loooooves it!
Right?!? Pure hair magic in a bottle! Lol!
Ooooo! I haven't tried these yet! They sound so interesting!
I just have to stop you right there ✋, and say you’re rocking a fantastic hair day in this video! ...Okay, you can continue now.
Her hair doesn’t make any sense it’s so shiny it looks liquid. How can it be there be NO frizz????
Awwww thank you! You are too sweet. And flaxseed gel is the bomb!
@@mermaidjc37 Thank you, I have some of those and will try adding them to my gel. I love preparing my own concoctions!
Thank you for doing this video! My hair is exactly like yours and seems to react to products exactly like yours. So thank you so much for doing this video!
Yeay! I'm so glad if this video is helpful!
My hair is weighed down by every leave-in I've tried. If I feel I need a little detangling I use a detangler spray. Could be an option for you.
Could be! Every de-tangling spray I have looked at either has silicone in it or is too heavy for my hair.
Deva Curl B'Leave In is an amazing leave in.
The Devacurl website characterizes B'leave In as a styler, not a leave-in.
Yes, their B’Leave In is supposed to be a curl clumper, not a leave in, the name is deceiving.
RIght?!?! Treluxe is so so good! And MopTop! I haven't gotten to try the new Bounce curl creams yet!
Irai Rod Oh my goodness! You are an amazing human being! Yes I will start working on that video for you.
XOXO C
updated favorites video please!
Omg I’m so excited I’m ordering quite a few of them now thank you 😊 I’m also a product junkie 😬 xxx
Please help. What is a typical routine look like. Getting my daughter started on CGM she has between 2B and 2C and we never did anything before but wash her hair. ;-(
Love it! Could you also please do a video on your entire curl product collection?❤️
She's a 50 year old mom from Wisconsin stuck in the body of a young millennial and I love her for it
Oh my goodness! This made me laugh till I cried!
that colour shirt looks lovely on you :) thank you for all the info you've provided - sitting here with a big ol' fuzzy bush on my head (clarification was needed) starting on my journey ':D
Is your hair naturally this color? It’s so pretty
when i was little, i had wavy hair but once i started using heat, my hair became STRAIGHT... so i started going natural: no heat, no dye and my waves are slowly coming back! BUT i don’t know how to take care of it? like what products can help my hair encourage its curls? SOS
Just started cg method a week ago, my hair are a mess, frizzy dry, sont really know what to use and what not, gona buy all of these and see which one would work for me, i have 3b curly low porosity hair
Thanx for this video
I love your videos! I was wondering what you think about Monet? I just bought it and Im trying so hard to reduce my poofy frizzy hair 😆
I find nature’s aid brand (aloe based ) works well for me and northern hemp co maybe it’s protein? I have fine hair and it gets weighed down easily
Your hair looks wonderful today!! 😍
Awwww thank you! You are so sweet!
Right?!? Giovanni is awesome! How frustrating that your faves are being discontinued! That is the worst!
I have! My favorite product from Innersense is their foam! I need to play around more with thier shampoos, conditioners, gels, etc.
She really sold me on these products
I LOVE curly magic, it's my savior
I have a shopping problem too! Wish there was a site to trade products
Have you tried any curl junkie products, than Reapir me?
I've found that the Pattern Pusha gel mixes beautifully with Treluxe pdoducts.... the treluxe cream and the gel...
OMG this is exactly why I just opened TH-cam... too bad most of them probably aren’t sold in Italy. Thank you!!
Inahsi will ship to Europe! And I believe Giovanni is sold internationally as well!
Thank You!
Kama Kreynest it is very hard hold
Ha! My wavy-haired dad also uses the tea tree shampoo! :)
I LOVE spiralicious! I've bought 4 so far. Its amazing
Jessicurl is amazing! I used that alot this winter! The As I Am leave in is really really nice! But Curls leave in is my personal fave!
Switched from “as I am leave in” to “Curl’s Blueberry Bliss leave in.” Am happy with it.
There are a few products you mentioned but did not list. Do you mind updating your written list? Thank you!
As I Am leave in is my favorite. Very light
Fran B ugh I bought it and it’s way too much for my hair
Jessicurl aloeba conditioner has coconut in it. I thought that was a protein. My hair gets brittle when I use something with coconut in it.
I'm trying really not to become a product hoarder too and just use what I've got at the moment. I'm being good so far but it's so hard when I just wanna try everything!!😂
Yeah, I totally understand that! Stay strong girl! You got this!!!!
Have you ever tried the LUS system? If so, what did you think?
I haven’t gotten to try LUS yet!
hi!! how does the kinky curly custard compare to the mop top custard?
Curlsmith Double Cream Deep Quencher mask use my FAVORITE mask
Blueberry bliss wash day?
Thank you for sharing your products ❤️ ...also is Anyone going through that transitioning stage when the top layer of the hair is straight compared to the inner layer? And My hair is so soft but frizzy is that a sign that I need protein?
This is something that a lot of people experience. I actually have different curl patterns all over my head. But typically the top lay of our hair has the most wear and tear due to wind, sun, and extra straightening because it's on top.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney so put more care in the top later? :)
Id love to see you try Viori shampoo and conditioner!!
Anyone from Canada? Half of those products are unavailable on Amazon here or shipping is the price of the product...
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney oh thank you so much!!
It's better to not wash frequently. My hair is awesome on days 3 and 4. I recommend trying as I am coconut cowash
long yarn I’m just getting started and I’m more wavy than curly..like 2B wavy..do you think the Uncle Funky’s would work for me?
My hair almost unmanageable. I have thick Moroccan hair that's really frizzy. Which shampoo and conditioner should I use?? I have btw 2b/2c waves.
You had a video awhile back featuring Ayurvedic products, but I can't seem to find that video or the products. Would give me a name and/or a link? Thank you.
Glad I found your channel. Thanks for sharing :)
Shea moisture is me and my daughter favorite
I have 2C and 3A and even some 3B
I am just starting in the curly girl method and I believe I have 2b/2c hair........I need help or is this really that stressful to start my hair wants to curl when I use the products but after the scrunch out crunch it’s curly for the first 2 hours and then it all falls away and my bottom half is kinda wavy I’m struggling I have been doing it for 2 weeks
I love your voice! You should try voice acting, you’d do amazing 👌
I'm pretty sure olaplex isn't protein based, so it may be a reaction to a different ingredient.
do you have a video of your washing habbits? like wash with shampoo then dont wash for few days or co wash and when to clarify your hair?
Not yet. I’m not sure my habits are consistent enough to make a video about it. LOL! I kind of just play with my hair every wash day and see what it needs.
I love Shea Moisture
Ok so does that mean you don’t use the DeCurl method and when did you stop using it? I love your hair and it’s so shiny...
I'm not sure what the DeCurl method is.
Finally purchased the curl junkie repair me. I may have cried a little lol but I can’t wait to try it.
I also tried the uncle funky’s daughter and my hair loves it! All of the products you have suggested have helped my hair so much.
Yup! You die a little on the inside but it is so worth it! Lol! I'm so glad that the suggestions have been helpful!!!
Are these products all for low porosity hair?
Have you tried the shea moisture sugarcane silicone free leave in? The reviews so far have been amazing but I'm curious as to what you would think
You were so sweet to ask me what I think! No sadly I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.
What about Bounce Curl? I have been wanting to try it, and just purchased based on your last video. I too like Mop Top and the Repair Me. I also just purchased and tried the Blueberry Bliss. Wow! It is amazing! Thanks for the tips!
I do love Bounce
Curl! It can be really hard to narrow down my favorite product sometimes. I nearly included them in this video. But I didn’t want it to be any longer than it already was. All of these products are amazing! They are like my children, I hate choosing between! LOL!
Hi Courtney! Have you tried the As I Am line? I'd love to see your review
Here’s one article about them:
redcarpetcurls.com/the-science-behind-the-itchy-ms-methylchloroisothiazolinone-and-methylisothiazolinone/
Hey girl! What exactly do you mean when you say a product gives you “grit”? Just texture and separation?
Nicole Hardy Thank you I was going to pick that one up at Sally’s but they were out of stock. Then I forgot.
Nicole nailed it! I actually have that co wash in my collection! And it is a SCALP SAVER on really bad itchy days. It’s soooooo good!
Please tell us the name of the drying alcohol in Biosilk's Rock Hard Gelee.
