- If Magdalena Bay is already capable of an album this good, IMAGINE what they can do next!
Highlights: Love is Everywhere, Vampire in the Corner, Killing Time
Lowlights: True Blue Interlude
How do you feel about this album? Let me know in the comments!
Imaginal disk literally completely changed how I view pop music
I would highly recommend listening to Shaking the Habitual by The Knife
@@isaacjackson9028 wow this album is so good!! so glad I saw your comment, thanks !
True Blue Interlude being bad is a wild take
@@ShyGuy274 it’s not bad it just doesn’t fit where it was placed on the album. But that’s just me.
such an L take
for me, the point of True Blue is to be an "ad" for the Imaginal Disk procedure that the next song, Image, is all about, and that's why it sounds "bland" or "uninteresting", it's kinda on purpose. IMO it's a really great ingenious interlude, and I absolutely LOVE the transition from "it's here, Imaginal Disk. Say hello. It's you!" to the sudden psychedelic intro to Image, I think it's one of my favorite transitions ever
@@guig008 Totally agree with that take and love the track
enthusiastically nodding and smiling up until you got to true blue lol personally i feel like it fits the tone and theme perfectly and immerses you in the world of the album
I didn’t initially but after a few listens, I love Vampire in the Corner and Watching T.V. They pair with each other so well that I consider them 1 song now.
@@lawbinson on my first listen I legit didn’t realize watching tv started. I just thought “wow vampire in the corner is really long”
YO WHAT MAGBAY IN MY RECOMMENDED? this album is slowly growing on me but i'm mostly in love with everything before it
idk waht 2 comment AHHHA HAHAH HDAHSDHI LVEO THIS ALBUM ITS VER GOOD GREAT REVEIW I ALSDO LOVE LOVE IS EVERYWHER :3 ok byeeee
👏👏👏👏
True Blue slander, get out
I love nearly the entire thing, rave about almost everything, give it a near perfect score, but I think an interlude is just eh and that’s the focus. I love the internet :3
@@priorbj6562 GET OUT
@@priorbj6562 Fair points but thematically its one of the most important songs as it sets up the whole "put this disk into your brain and having a new you" thing.

okay fine maybe I’ll relisten
Can't find anywhere to disagree, except that I didn't find True Blue boring, per se, lol. Just the weakest part of an album that will get playtime regularly until I die.
@@desert_sky_guy I think I went too far with the true blue hate. Had a feeling I should have SOMETHING critical to say so I wouldn’t get comments like “oh why isnt it a 10” or whatever
I genuinely wish I understood what all of you guys are getting out of this album because to me it's just a completely middle of the road synth pop album, like I'm not even saying that to be snarky if anything it's just really interesting how people can view the same piece of music so differently
yeah tbf it's not my favorite. death and romance is one of my favorites though. everything before then i'm totally in love with though
Do you already like Mag Bay? I am in love with almost everything that came before, but this album is talking longer to grow on me. I didn't like it much when it dropped, but now it's worming its way into my brain. The complexity of the compositions are taking longer to appreciate, but as I figure out what the songs are doing, I'm really starting to like it. Like Steely Dan or XTC, difficult to listen to at the beginning but the payoff is worth it.
@@ontheruntonowhere No I’m not already a fan, and I’m not finding it “difficult to listen to” I just don’t think it’s all that good
@@tescomealdeals Ok, cool. Just having a conversation, no offense meant.
@@ontheruntonowhere no offense meant on my part either sorry if it came off that way
