I was halfway through listening to this and went outside and started lifting heavy rocks. Not joking at all. No sandbag? Good, an opportunity to get primal.

Indeed true ,not at the cost of perseverance✌️only when you dont give up then there is a slight chance discipline can be built or taught to build maybe, persistence should always comes from you, without that its pure idiocy to even think you can or cannot do something✌️

    Determination
You hate so much of your regimed “freedom”
You’re slaved to it and convinced yourself it’s freedom
Could you have ever truly said no?
Determination and drive leads to freedom, that’s how you achieved achievements. Discipline kept others off your back
discipline, is how you slaved yourself, ran yourself into the ground and nearly killed yourself, all so they couldn’t say a thing about you
Determination is what got you back up after an injury put you down
But that’s speaking to someone who always had the strength within to stand firm
That isn’t everyone, many are slaved it impulse, determined to do nothing but fail and quit, I am aware of that divide, they do need discipline as they have no drive, and look for any excuse to fail themselves, and through that discipline they may find real determination

And where does a man find a job like this that pays enough to afford his wife to stay home and not work? You live in a fantasy world. In the real world, this isn't a reality for 95% of folks.

Errr... not too sure about this. Everybody has time for everything? Now, that is actually a lie. Someone working 40 to 50 hours a week, plus the commuting time, still having all the time to relax, work-out, have hobbies, be present for his family, etc.? Yeah, likely story. Let's be realistic here.
Someone's father - or worse, family - demeaning one's projects? Who would still be motivated to act, huh? Who would always be totally bullet-proof to petty and mean criticism, especially when coming from close ones and relatives? That's not a lie.

I love Jocko's video's but, his explanation is a little confusing and off. The literal definition of motivation is: The force that accounts for initiation, direction, persistence, and intensity of goal directed behaviors. It is your intrinsic and extrinsic motivations that are your motives. For instance, my extrinsic motivation is my family. When I don't want to get up and go to work, I think about my family and how I am their protector. It's up to me to make sure they have a roof over their heads and food on the table. Intrinsic motivators are internal things that give you your "why".

Take it one day at a time brother! God is good, and He will never put things on your plate that you cannot overcome with His help. Seek His kingdom above all things, and the rest will be given unto you. May the fruits of the Spirit overflow in your life. May you be strengthened by His discipline, and may His peace flood your mind. May His mercy and goodness follow you all the days of your life.
I was in a similar situation psychologically with substance abuse. I had so much guilt and shame on my consciousness, and God kindly lead me to a new path of discipline, and a purpose filled life. Please respond if you see this I would love to hear an update on where you are in your journey. God bless you Dave, and thank you for inspiring me to take a big step today, and be vulnerable with my brothers in Christ.
