Well, 1 big thing to remember is in a lot of things, the 950 won, web browsing being the big thing for me. Secondly, where it lost, you got to remember it's rendering 1,612,800 more pixels onscreen. About 75% more than the 1520. Also, Nokia never fixed the touch input, hence you launching apps you didn't mean to. Mine does the same thing. The touch input is f'ed on the 1520 and it has drove me nuts since I got it. Glad to see the 950XL isn't doing that. My only complaint is the lack of hardware buttons. I'm not a fan of the software keys on the front.
I consider both of them were equal on speed because my Lumia 1520 opened first apps faster than Lumia 950 xl but then was the 950 xl, and I can tell you I'm so proud when the 2 years old Nokia Lumia 1520 still being compared with the newest devices, of course the both of them are pretty cool. crapsung and iPhone are just normal ones.
Yes, the battery is available. I have found original Nokia brand new battery,try on Ebay ...before of that,I tried 2 different akku powercell with more than 3500 mah but the recharging stops at 90%...finally I opened and installed an original Nokia battery made in late 2015.

Mine either. It got extremely hot. It did an upgrade & deemed my phone useless. I did a recovery & my 1520 refuses 2 upgrade 2 Windows 10 again. I'm too scared 2 use the insider program update. I ordered a 950 XL for $355 on eBay. I'll use that until it dies. If I really like the Surface phone, I'll hold out 4 that. I'm not giving up my 1520 though. If I can get win 10 on my 1520 again, I'll give the 950 XL 2 my lil cousin..
Giullie van de Petteflat I actually got my Lumia 950 XL & I love it 2 death. I still like the way the 1520 feels better, but the 950 XL is awesome if I must say. It's very intuitive. It feels like I'm using my Surface Pro 3. I'm not a huge APP person, so it's all good 4 me. There r a few things I don't care 4, but it's not major. Overall, a solid device 4 Windows 10 mobile.
The early builds had many issues, i kept the updates going and now my 1520 camera and battery is as good as it ever was. The real benefit you get with the 950/950xl is the size and weight vs the hefty 1520 imo.

yup, capacitive buttons are missing in lumia 950xl. :D
Lumia 950XL looks really cheap and ugly the design of the 1520 looks more premium

Go to the store and download "Upgrade Advisor". That should get you Windows 10.
