I've got a big problem with my 1520. Its been nearly two years of a heavy use and... I do not want to change onto anything else. Phone has never crashed, quality of the voice/picture is excellent, under normal conditions battery easy lasts a decent, 2 days... Basically, I am only waiting for a waterproof version of it.
I've got a very nice app "Hardware Tests" (ver 3.1.9.0) and a minute ago I have tested: "LCD colours" module allows me to test white, red, green, blue and black screen: absolutely no concerns. "Dimming" - the same.
@Kashif Malim Hell yeah. I used to have a Samsung S3, just bought a 640XL last week and battery life is a lot better. Right now the phone has been on for about 13 hours...didn't use it too intensively today, but still a few calls, YT videos, internet browsing, took pictures, music with bluetooth...and I still have 53% battery after the whole day. I'm pretty happy about this.
I love my 640XL, even now in August 2017 I find myself using it more than my Android. The battery life is fantastic. The keyboard is a pleasure to use for texting, nice big keyboard for much less mis-types... and the overall look & practicality of the tiles is great.

bonghy Battery drainage and heating issues do happen to my Lumia 1520. So does sluggish performance sometimes. So I have to restart the phone very often

I get one brand new for about 90£ a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say that I find very satisfying the fact that it can compete with the top models like the 1520. Of course the 1520 it's still better and faster and so on, but man, it's 90£ against about 250£!
For me, 640 XL's images are better, but the 1520's videos take it. I'd love to see a 950 XL vs. 1520 some time, as I think the 950 XL is the true successor to the 1520.
w10m TP is really stable now. and I love the w10m's speed and seems the resuming bug's gone. what about the touch bug on 1520?have you ever encountered the phantom touch issue with w10m on 1520?
I was wondering if you could maybe upload an image to your twitter or something showing off the smallest tile size. With the new 4th column, tiles are now smaller than ever and I want to see the smallest one. I have a Lumia 1020, and I can only get 3 columns. Keep it up!
I'm wanting to pick up either a 1520 or 640xl. Both of them unlocked. I use the insider builds on my surface 4 I'm looking to just have this phone to tinker with. Will I be missing any software features if I choose the older hardware over the newer 640 xl? All suggestions are welcome.

Could you tell me why on the keyboard on the Nokia Lumia1520 doesn't appear the microphone that is located on the top of the keyboard that is used when you say the words and it gets the sentence on the message without writing it, is it able on this Nokia Lumia 1520, isn't it? Mate these tests , make no sense! For example when you said that the Camera on the 640 xl opened faster, the 1520 slowed down for sure because the Garbage Collector had to clean up the memory, the Garbage Collector is unpredictable, that's why this kind of tests are very unreliable.

Nokia's biggest mistake was to stop building these windows phone on Win8 platform. They would have easily gained at least a 4th of the market.

The 1520 takes longer to cold launch the camera because there is more to do. Cold start of camera on 1020 you could make a sandwich. Same reason.
1520 camera is very very easy to get heat.
