DIY Mushroom Animals - Cute Felting ASMR Video

- I was so impressed by this kit because you get two needles and felting mat as well! So if you ever wanted to try felting, this is everything you need to get started. The pieces were designed by the kawaii felt artist Chiku Chiku and I bought it from a lovely Etsy shop called "mautio" (linked below) . I think this kit is quite rare and may get sold out soon so hurry if you want to buy it. The same shop also has one of the best kawaii sticker and deco tape collection's I've ever seen!
Of course, you can easily replicate this project using any sort of felting wool (I have Christmas giveaway coming soon for bumper packs of wool which can be used for this). The great thing is that all the wool quantities are evenly divided, except orange which is doubled since there are two mushrooms in that colour. TIP: I recommend making the mushrooms in the same order I did in this video. This prevents you from accidentally using up any wool colours that might still be needed for another animal!

When i saw the felting mat I literally shouted quietly "OMG a felting mat!"
***** I know, it's so cool that a kit actually includes a mat! Sadly the same brand's kits seem to be sold out now, probably because they include so much stuff :/
This is like the Ultimate needle felt kit for the begginer! Awesome!! :D
BudgetHobby Yes, I couldn't believe it when I realised it actually contained a mat as well! And it's incredible value for money as well considering all the pieces you can make with it. I love that the mat is black because I can put white text over it in my future videos :D

I'm going to be honest, ASMR is for people who like quiet things. So when marking a video as ASMR try not to make harsh noises like for example the bags making noise. But, you did a wonderful job and they turned out adorable.
This feels like the perfect combination of aggressive stabbing motions and cute things

alemap08 Thank you!! I only found out later that the relaxing feeling is called "ASMR" which I've always enjoyed watching on other TH-cam channels. RRcherrypie, Mosogourmet and Bonobos25 are also great for this! For felting noise videos, you might also like Pufftique and Lullubee Crafts :).

It's still ASMR, different people react to different sounds. For some hard noises agitates but for others it is relaxing. Be well :)

+II Kawaii II Hi! It normally takes at least 1 hour to make one piece from beginning till end (such as one of these animals). Needlefelting is not difficult at all, but it simply requires A LOT of patience. This makes it seem "difficult" for many beginners because they simply lose patience and try to rush a piece which means it doesn't turn out as nicely as the picture on the packaging. So the trick is to stop working if you lose concentration. Some kits might take several days to make but it's a lovely relaxing process so you should simply enjoy making each shape look great instead of hurrying to finish the kit.
I feel like there should've been a fox and you could make a cute little tail that you attach between the stalk and cap and it'd just be so adorable

How long does it take most of your kits to arrive? They are from Japan, right?
Emily Nguyen Hi! This kit was sent from Japan though I believe it's unfortunately sold out right now. It takes about 2 weeks for it arrive to Europe. The other Etsy shop (1127Handcrafter) that I normally order from is based in HongKong and it takes about 1.5 weeks to arrive.

Purple Panda I got one off of amazing but it didnt come with a mat. What I did is I just got a moist sponge (so it's not so hard) which worked perfectly!

Mercy Tan Hi! Wool is essentially made up of many loose fibres with air in between. However if they come in contact with water or friction, the fibres break apart and start sticking to each other. This creates a smaller and more solid shape (it's the same reason why woolly sweaters shrink inside the washing machine/dryer. The machine has mushed all the wool fibres together so the sweater becomes much smaller and impossible to wear :P). A needlefelting needle has tiny hooks in the tip which help rip up the fibres and make them stick together. By poking them long enough, it gets rid of all the air between the wool and the resulting piece is a solid shape which you can sculpt :)
