This was published on my B-day. Also my mm won't buy me the felting tools also the felting wool, so I have to watch it on TH-cam and pretend I'm doing. I cry every time I watch this amazing tutorials.
This was my first ever felt 7 years ago when I was 13 XD (well didn't have the kit but had a starter kit so made it from scratch) been felting ever since~ been making my dnd characters over the months with posable bodies~
It's funny, I don't get the normal asmr tingles from this like I usually do from other videos, but I just get a feeling of calm and relaxation. So it still works! 😂
Ooo thank you for letting me know!!! I've never heard of Inu Hariko before and had to google it, so interesting. I've corrected the description text too, shame about the video thumbnail ;)
+Michelle Kawaii Yes, I used to stab myself quite often when I first started felting but after a while you learn how to hold the wool so you almost never stab yourself anymore. I haven't poked myself in the last year despite felting fairly often ^_^
Thanks so much! It's great to hear that the foam is non-toxic. I heard on the Internet that it can give you chemical burns, is that only when water is added? I will definitely be picking up some for my needle felting needs :D
Hi I love your felting it always looks so neat and clean, I'm just starting out, is this kit for a noob? I want to make mine into keychains and hair ties is that ok?
aww thank you! yes I have so many needlefelt kits at home that I still have to film...I've been really busy with work recently but I really hope to catch up on felting over the summer ^_^
Hi, I love your videos and I've seen you use melamine foam for some of your needle felting and it looks like a great idea, but doesn't the foam have chemicals since its used for cleaning? My mom said that it has chemicals for cleaning so I didn't want to get it for my crafts. Does the one you use have chemicals?
Hi! Melamine foam is actually really safe because it doesn't contain any chemicals and it's designed to be used only with water (you don't even need soap). The foam structure has lots of tiny holes which "trap" dust and then you can wipe them away. I use it myself to clean my apartment because I like the fact that it's non-toxic and you only need water :D
Your doing a giveaway? Omg! I have been waiting for so long!! Is there a winner yet? If no,how do I enter? If he's,please tell me when are u having another giveaway!
Hi! I really want to win this kit because I have a hard and stressful life. I never needle felted before but it will make me very happy to try. Your videos always makes me happy and more relaxed. The Daruma doll will help me get a better life. Thank you Maqaroon for making my life better. Can you also please do a video on the Daiso dolphin keyring kit. Thank you!
Aww thank you! I'm afraid the winner will be picked at random but i'm really happy you like the videos. I will try to do the dolphin kit, bu ti will definitely do the pink bear daiso one because i already have it at home ^_^
Quick question! I noticed you used the melamine foam as the actual base in some of your felting videos, like the roll cakes, but not in others. Why is that? Is it to save wool? Edit- P.S. You are awesome x3!
Thank you! I tend to use melamine foam for any felt piece which has flat sides or sharper edges (eg roll cake or cookies) because this helps it keep the shape. Round shapes are much easier to do without foam because you have to poke evenly from all directions.
Ahh! This is so amazing and cute! This is my other account, my old one got hacked :( I can't wait for the giveaway! I always wanted to felt wool but I could never get it in my country!! :D I'm so excited! Good luck for anyone who enters!!
We'll, if your kid is at a younger age, you might want to help them, after all, little fingers might get hurt from the needle, but if you have older children, then ignore everything I've just said
Hi! The daruma took about 1 hour and the cat 2 hours. The trickiest part is the very beginning when shaping the loose wool into a body/ears shape (also the time when you're most likely to poke yourself). The remaining 80% of the work is simply smoothing down the felt so everything becomes firm and even...if your children are old enough to work with the needles then this part should be quite fun for them!
I showed this to my friend and she thinks its cool how felt/wool can stay in a form by poking and stuff... So I'm planning to get her a kit for her birthday which is in November. She has never done this before or heard of it so which kit do you think is best for beginners??
Hi! So glad the video helped, it's really fun the first time you try it because it feels a bit like 'magic' when the felt starts becoming hard and compressed. I definitely recommend this kit for beginners: www.etsy.com/listing/187195555/kawaii-bear-trio-mascots-japanese-needle?ref=listing-3 It was the first kit I ever tried and it's great because you get to practise the same design three times. You have to get the needles separately (sold from the same Etsy shop)
Beth C Thank you!! Yes, I'm using a felting mat which is basically a piece of hard foam. I got that from a craft store but any sort of stiff sponge, styrofoam or mattress foam will also work!
Excellent, I can't wait to give this style of crafting a try sometime! Thank you for fun videos, I do enjoy them ~ and thanks for replying to my question.
Hi! When I first started felting it happened quite often (several times per project) but I noticed after a lot of practise it doesn't happen anymore. In one of my next videos i will show how to make an easy finger protector for anyone worried about poking themselves!
Hm, do you use a multiple felting needle or a single one? I find its easier with a single needle...when I used a triple needle then I started getting the pores too. Other times it might just be the type of felt and it's hard to do much about that. One thing that could help is felting the surface lightly at a 45° angle, so you're basically poking the surface lightly at a slant instead of stabbing directly up and down, which creates holes. :)
Oh I use the single needle! Now I get it! No wonder XD I keep poking up and down thats why my wool has 'pore like holes' Thanks for your awesome tip dear! ^^
Yes, i definitely hope to do that one in future as well. It's this kit here and the best one for beginnners: somethingkawaii.co.uk/hamanaka-needle-felting-kit-kuma-trio-p-363.html
Hi, where can i buy the kits? there`s a online page? P.S. please have me platience with the grammar, i`m from Mexico and i don`t write well, thank you.
+Mallory Seyboldt Hi! I order most of my craft supplies from this Etsy shop here: www.etsy.com/shop/1127handcrafter They ship worldwide very cheaply so it's definitely the most convenient way to get hold of japanese craft brands! If you check the description box under each video then I always link the places where I got my materials.
This is so cute! And thank you for the giveaway. May i ask what editor do you use to edit your videos? And do you have any tips for felting and where do you buy cheap felting wool? I buy felting wool from Hobby Lobby and they have very expensive wools. I see that you always have a lot. Thanks
Hi! I buy my wool from JapanLovelyCrafts (linked in video comment section) but you can get cheaper ones over Etsy too. For instance this looks like great deal for a huge amount of wool: www.etsy.com/listing/156054545/sale-35-colors-needle-felting-needle?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=needle+felt&ga_ship_to=AT&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery

We'll, if your kid is at a younger age, you might want to help them, after all, little fingers might get hurt from the needle, but if you have older children, then ignore everything I've just said
They're over 10.

Is daruma the pre evaluation of darumaka
So cute! Love it
Oh, and For the giveaway, how will you decide who will win, scraps of paper froma hat or something like tha?
Hi! Yes, I'll probably print out all the comments, cut them up and pick out of a hat ^_^
I showed this to my friend and she thinks its cool how felt/wool can stay in a form by poking and stuff... So I'm planning to get her a kit for her birthday which is in November. She has never done this before or heard of it so which kit do you think is best for beginners??

Yes, I plan to print out all comments/entrants, cut them up and pick it out of a hat :)
I have a question: are you using a square piece of foam atop the table to felt on? And thanks for such a simple instruction video, I enjoyed it =^_^=
Beth C Thank you!!
Can someone please answer my question~ Does it matter what gauge needle is used?
I love you vids they are soooo inspiring
May I ask you something?
Do often poke yourself with the needle?
Hi! When I first started felting it happened quite often (several times per project) but I noticed after a lot of practise it doesn't happen anymore. In one of my next videos i will show how to make an easy finger protector for anyone worried about poking themselves!
u told we may get a luck if we have the daruma doll.right?did u get a luck :o
oh! how do you make the wool so firm and even without having 'pore' like holes in
them? its always a problem for me when i felt! :/

Can you do the dog kit?
Have you ever stabbed or hurt with your felting needle?
What does "super kawaii" mean? Super cute?

Where did you find this kit? I haven't found it on Etsy or Amazon.
