The biggest difference for me with the CT vs DeLorean is that this thing actually has power and works as a regular every day vehicle. I bet they tame down the design aesthetic over future versions but bet it sticks around longer than the DMC.
maybe give it a spray with WD-40 as a form of protection. When I worked in China we used to do this to stainless steel cooking equipment and it appeared to work.
@@ianmontgomery7534 Alright but it just shows that people don't have a clue what they are buying... Thinking unprotected stainlees steel is a great material for everything outside is just pure stupidity...
I think probably the same that happens with a regular car with paint? This SS is supposed to be much more dent and scratch resistant become there is no paint but time will tell I suppose!
I’m surprised they chose to leave it as bare metal. They could have clear coated over the top and we wouldn’t have any issues with rust or washing. But I guess that hits their bottom line 😂
I bet…makes me wonder how they’ll weather the test of time. Since they’re so “different” I’m not sure they’ll retain value but guess we will see. Lucky for me I didn’t buy as an “investment”
There won't be an aftermarket as this truck will not last. I am sorry for you for having been sucked in by the hype of EVs in general and this truck in particular.
Did you break it by washing it. Elon made a man's truck that break when washed, not a real outdoors vehicle. Careful now you will void the warranty😂😂😂😂 POS
This is exactly the kind of person I envisioned owning one of these. “Oh noooo I got pebbles in my truck”
Haha! Thanks for the comment! To be clear I really don’t care…but I figured that some folks on YT might benefit from seeing it.
@@MattsCybertruck More power to ya. Pun intended. See now I appreciate you because you weren’t thin skinned. What a conundrum.
😂😂
Like the Delorean, it is getting ready to be seen in a museum where it belongs. I'm trying to be fair.

I think the best solution to make the CyberTruck look good is to wrap it in your favorite color.
There are some pretty neat wrap jobs out there now! Not my style but some folks like it.
I would try that red or green saran wrap that comes out at Christmastime.
The blotchiness is because it’s stainless steel. Same thing happens when you rinse or wash cookware or a stainless steel countertop l
Did you put it in "car wash mode"?
I wouldn’t wash any car in full sunlight. Part of “real world” test, I guess.
I’ve done it my whole life. We do get 320+ days of full sunlight per year so it’s hard not to.
That's all I kept yelling at the screen the whole time LOL!
I wonder if stainless steel spray cleaner used for home appliances would work well? Maybe not in the direct sunlight though.
Why was there water in bed when you opened the cover?? Isn't it watertight?? Not good....
I have a dumb question, when you just do a regular wash you don't need to put it in car wash mode?
Not for a regular car wash, no but I don’t think it hurt it either.
Make sure you put it in carwash mode :) also dont do that in direct sunlight!

@@mayshackNot if you rub it in. We never found it to be a problem with the stainless we had outside.
I can’t imagine that would go well! Haha! But I’m sure someone will try it!
@@ianmontgomery7534 Rub it in? Into stainless steel?
@@ickebins6948 rub it in like you would a polish. Of course it actually doesnt get rubbed in but neither does car polish.

What happens when some jerk keys the door panels? Shopping cart dings. Riding behind a gravel truck. Bird poop that stays on for a few days.

Scrub the whole thing with steel wool if it's getting ugly.
I don't get why they don't offer that as option.
Clean it like you would your refrigerator.

Rust has not been an issue for me or anyone I’ve met with one. Guess we will see over time!
To remove those pebbles I would use electrician's pointy nose pliers .
Use a putty knife for the pebbles.
Give it a year and these CT will be old news and prices will be way down.

100,000 on a automobile then you can't pay a car wash😅then lo pressure water go through your bed😮
Dude, the ridiculous stainless steel aside, you shouldn't wash any car in direct sunlight like that if you're trying to avoid any water spots/
There won't be an aftermarket as this truck will not last. I am sorry for you for having been sucked in by the hype of EVs in general and this truck in particular.
Rhino line the whole truck.
I was considering lining the bottom quarter panel for rock protection. Might do it…but want to see how the SS performs for a while first.
same, me neither, nothing special, its my truck, good video
Clustertruck or Wankpanzer...
Beware car body rusting!
No rust so far!
Did you break it by washing it. Elon made a man's truck that break when washed, not a real outdoors vehicle. Careful now you will void the warranty😂😂😂😂 POS
No. I can see why some people are wrapping them but that’s way more work. I’ll probably wash it 2-3 times per year and call it good.
A real man doesn't wash or clean his truck, ever. Yup.
