    Beautiful footage! You guys had a gorgeous weather! I hiked this trail for 3 times... 1st time was smoky from forest fires, 2nd time was overcast no view, and 3rd time which was a few weeks ago was rainy and gust wind on the top... I'll try again for better view

    Best video I have seen on here for tower. I am all about this tower and Mowich Lake Peaks for a view of Rainier. Obviously, Naches Peak and Crystal Peak over sourdough are easy gets.
    I like Chinook Pass because you can take the dogs on the Sourdough side. Horse. Camel. Ride a grizzly if you have one. NPS hates dogs. Oddly they can go in the Beartooth wilderness (MT) but not here in WA. Enchantments. I go to the Longs pass side there at Esmeralda Basin. TH. Used to exit 47 I90 daily with dogs, day use area on river then crossed under freeway on A. Curtis trail to the other side. It also has Snow Lake/PCT Katwalk/Alpine Lakes (very busy). goin up the PCT, I get off at Denny Creek/47 drive out up the river the PCT TH is directly across the road at the first Ski exit. It has a huge horse parking area you can chill in and the PCT TH.
    That is an up down and is really a great great view. If you go past the turn at the top of the Snow Lake trail that path deadends up in the Valley and the peaks to your right overlook the lake, have to go up them though. That valley dead end is incredible with all the snow-melt waterfalls/cascades. Is Asplendal ever open? Anyway, you can cross the bridge and walk around over there to.
    Big gun walks. Chinook Pass/Naches/Sourdouogh-the trail branches off to Crystal Lake and is a way better way to go in up than the 410 side. Big views of Rainier if you go up peaks.
    Esmeralda Basin epic view of Mount Stuart. And there is an old road that goes down to creek (ingalls) it runs the ditch back out to 97 18-20 miles. US 97. You turn at the place with the big rock in the parking lot cross the bridge of 97 at the bottom of the pass. That goes to TH on that end.
    Naneum Meadows can be got from Blewett Pass. Nice drive except for the first few miles of 97. Lion Rock and walking the cliffs on table Mountain from Ellensberg side is fun day. No water up there. 25 miles from Loves/Pilot to turn to lion rock. 16 miles up the valley. good 4x4 day. That's all I know.
    Don't go to Olympic pennisula is huge, hard day/night to drive hundreds of miles, hotels all suck mostly. It is easier to just drive to Oregon spend the weekend between Lincoln City and Florence. Camp. Eugene is directly across from Crater Lake and Florence, so you can go in there and out in Salem OR or reverse. I use the dollar generals for supplies.

      Thanks! We started the hike at Mowich Lake campground. It’s a gravel road to drive to the parking lot for the last 30 mins or so

      We actually did it as a day trip from Vashon Island, which is right near Seattle. It’s accessible from the Seattle area, Tacoma, or any place inbetween there and the trailhead!

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes kids can definitely do this hike! Just be careful at the top viewpoint as there aren’t railings up there. Stick to the path with the kids and you’ll be fine 👍
