Murtasim: Haya, i won’t see your face if you’re involved in any of this.
Things haya has already been involved in:
-Pushed your wife down the stairs
    -Did black magic
    -Character assasinated your wife
-Acted like you both are having an affair
-Hugged you pretending to be ur wife
-Recorded ur sister running away and didnt tell anyone
-Openly flirts with you at any given opportunity
And here u are chatting merrily with her in your bedroom, offering her your wifes ring.
Normally i’m against violence, but Meerub ne sahi thappar lagaya tha aap ko murtasim bhai.

Murtasim was a guy that stood up for his wife in front of his mother, he got married to his rival (Meerab) just to keep her safe, he saved her in a car crash, and he went to look for her in the middle of the night when he found out she went missing, he confessed to being in love with her on numerous occasions and did it with flowers, with tears in his eyes, by eating food he's allergic to, by sleeping on the couch with no hesitation and by asking for her right after he got up from an accident in the hospital. This now cannot be the same Murtasim who did all of this expecting nothing in return. This Murtasim is another guy, he rapes her, insults her character, lets another woman get away with causing his wife harm, throws her out of the house in the middle of the night and disrespects her in front of his family. This is not the Murtasim we were all rooting for. This is not the Tere Bin we were fans of, this has now become a stupid drama that banks off of the money they are making due to popularity.

Tere Bin will be remembered for years as an example for how not to ruin a drama, how no one objected on the story turn it will take and then how not to cover it up that it became a joke. There is no saving moment left for the story, characters and the production team. We now need to remember the drama till 46th episode and pretend it ended on an open end! That way we might be able to salvage our feelings and emotions about it!

I agree these are one of the bitter realities and if the writer wanted to highlight it, fair enough but then why making Murtasim a hero from the start? Marital r**e has been shown before in dramas like Qissa Mehrbano Ka but Ehsan Khan’s character was negative from day one. Wahaj said in one of the talk talk shows that he did not fully read it before signing it and it shows that he worked hard to portray Murtasim in a positive light only to hit the glass ceiling past 47th episode!

@@rozinakhan5492sorry to correct you but Tere bin wasnt a platform for this very sensitive topic to be put in so flippantly almost towards the end of this drama, by the inept female writer! Firstly because in her earlier interview Nooran Mukhdoom said she created this non toxic hero as an anti dote to the prevailing toxic hero’s in Pak dramas! If you then see all of Murtasim’s actions throughout the 46 episodes we see a respectable, educated loving caring sensitive male, who cares about his mother and is protective of the women in his life including Haya! A few episodes away he was besides himself worrying of the potential harm to his sister by Malik zubair, this is a man who slept on that wretched sofa, and even re taped that infamous pre marital contract, yet the writer now expects us to believe he is capable of M rape! It indicates that this writer not only trivialise MR, but is using it to garner even more ratings. Which didn’t sit well with the viewers. Simply because it was incongruous with the Murtasim’s character as shown up to Ep 46! in fact it demeans all men and we know that while most rapist are men not all men are rapist! But then she made this educated, girl from a decent family to spit and slap her husband thus justifying his assault on her, this is outrageous, especially as she then promises a happy ending! Sorry to say that as a doctor dealing with domestic violence and MR, this is a disgusting manner to introduce such an important subject, and it may have triggered many women who face this in their lives. Nooran is about sensationalism and not about the social message of the plight of women in a marriage where MR occurs! This is a subject to be sensitively done in a social drama! The outrage for the viewers were two folds first it was unacceptable that this Murtasim could do this, and that the message that even decent men can be provoked into becoming rapist is in itself outrageous,I doubt if any of the men in our lives would do this but the assault is then placed upon a female for ‘ provocation’ this too is victim blaming, we all know rape is about power and not sex! The writer needs to be chastised for being so insensitive as she happily proclaimed it was necessary to move the drama forward,FFS she could have found a zillion reasons for Meerub to seperate from Murtasim without bringing in the MR angle!

you are so right. Tere bin is an example how u can ruin a drama in the last few episodes and show scenes which has no continuation and makes no sense. the blame they put on audience saying audience wanted to see more episodes but on some thing it is the writer choice show what ever they want to show which doesn't make any sense. writer don;t have a brain at all where there is common sense. she has ruined the female lead to the core. i still wonder why yamuna choose this role. i know they have their criteria but this is too much. in saving murtasim character they ruined Meerab the whole . The level of absurdities TB has reached is unbearable now...Why Nooran makhdoom why??
I've never been this disappointed with a drama that I've actually enjoyed a lot.
And after watching the episodes from 46 to 50, I've come to the conclusion that this is how TB was actually written, meerub was written as a stubborn and foolish girl (not strong and independent), haya was written as one of the most toxic villains ever who would never be questioned for her actions AND our beloved MURTASIM was written as your regular toxic male lead who would r**e his wife in the climax then would be searching her like a mad lover to gain viewers sympathy and eventually would be forgiven in the end. It was wahaj who presented murtasim to us this way, now I feel he shouldn't have done those modifications, he should've gone with the numerous slaps which were written in the original script and should've shown murtasim's toxic side... maybe then we would've digested all what's happening in TB now. I guess Nooran makhdoom's vision was clear she wanted to make another Meer hadi or a shamsher. Only because the romance quotient was very high in this drama and wahaj's modifications and yumna & wahaj's performance and their chemistry made us believe otherwise.
Also, the last conversation of murtasim with haya has to be one of most absurd conversations EVER... what was he even thinking when he said "meerub tab nahi bhagi jab usey apne baba ka pata chla, woh tab nahi bhagi jab uski shadi mujhse zabardasti karayi gayi toh woh ab kyun bhagegi" and I was like "murtasim you idiot, you donkey you bloody r**ed your wife" (sorry I have OG script in my mind) and you still have the audacity to say this. And he's still saying "haya agar isme tumhara hath hua toh main tumhari shakal nahi dekhunga" 😩😩 seriously??!!
You see this is how they would've made people forget about the MR if it had happened.

But the problem is in either case, neither meerab nor murtasim’s actions and expressions are making complete sense? As aamna said, why is meerab “shown” longing for him? And why is murtasim confused as to why she left? Doesn’t he realize it’s because of what he did to her? (This is according to the original assault storyline). And if it was consensual idk why he would look in rohails house first. Again makes no sense.

Tere Bin has provided the industry with many lessons when it comes to dramas. I hope they paid attention.
This script was a regressive piece of work from a writer whose ideas were never fresh or modern as we had come to believe. Murtasim was written as a toxic hero with a feudal background. He was suppose to slap Meerub throughout the drama. He was suppose to commit the crime of marital rape. Meerub was suppose to fall in love anyways. And we were to accept this very toxic happy ending.
The creative team involved in Tere Bin obviously thought this script had merit and should be produced. I hope the industry realizes that we need better writing. Dramas can be more profitable and successful than movies if we start investing in our writers.
When the actors came onboard, the characters and scenes were changed. Wahaj played Murtasim differently. Slaps were taken out. He worked on his role. It shows that actors do have some influence on the script. Where it didn’t make sense is when Yumna played her character as written. She is a director’s actor. She should have assessed the impact on Meerub when Murtasim was being edited. This failing should have been noted by the director and his team as well. And the director should have adjusted her role. If one character is evolving, then the rest of team outta look at the impact on the entire project and other characters. Let this be a lesson for the industry. Edit the script if need be. Don’t just give us inconsistent content because we are too busy/lazy/simple people who will accept everything.
As drama was airing, producers and channel had multiple opportunities to critically reflect on why everyone was connected with this drama. They basked in the glory but didn’t bother asking why. Had they taken a moment to reflect, the team would have realized Martial rape scenes needed reshooting. There was time to fix this error because Tere Bin mania was in full bloom as early as early as episode 6. We were shown 4 episodes in one week that was not needed. Again, the team had plenty of time to change.
Moving forward, I hope industry is paying attention. Stop investing in regressive storylines. Stop editing scripts without reviewing its impact. Stop ignoring the constructive feedback. Stop ignoring your mistakes. Just stop. There is potential to make $$$$$ and be profitable with excellent content.

She herself admitted that she didn't read the whole script. She also told that she n wahaj were consistently having arguments n fights on how different scenes should be executed..do you think a lead actor actually need a gun to force other team members for adding one or two details in the scenes in the middle of the drama? If you are a lead. Has already listened to your colleagues for some scenes you automatically have the power to manipulate them to listen to you. You have already listened to them now it is their turn to listen to you.

The biggest issue with tere bin is not only about flash backs but even many scenes had no relevance. For example - what was the relevance of Meerab going to guest house, what was the purpose of that scene- only for changing her outfit otherwise that whole scene of going to guest house, asking friend for money; police raid; her escaping that raid ( which for sure was unreal) was useless. Again, meerab has been living in Karachi since her childhood, doesn’t she know which places are shabby ? This story, scenes make no sense now!

This guy has the audacity to say, meri izzat ka mamla hai. Thinks she must be with Rohail. N says if I don't find her Haya u can have her ring.
Neither is he accepting his fault, nor is he asking Haya to go bugger off knowing she is the one who instigated the whole scenario. This is some real problematic behaviour from your "hero". And they were about to show us all this along with the MR. Seriously?

The way writer Nooran Makhdoom wrote the character of Meerab, she should have named the drama, ‘ Meerab, the Blunder Woman’. No episode goes by without a blunder by her, now causing the death of her father with her irresponsible decision of not going to her parents house and putting herself in danger wandering alone in Karachi. On top of this the entire team threw Meerab under the bus to save themselves from the criticism of public. Nooran writes scenes randomly with no thinking, no justification or backing by the story or the character. I was ready to accept marital rape even, if they had justified it through the story. Now, nothing makes any sense, no one knows why the characters are doing what they are doing. The cute MeerAsim moments on which the drama thrived were changed with toxic moments for no reason at all.

  • @brewhaven
    @brewhaven ปีที่แล้ว +11

To be able to continue watching Tere Bin, I had to make some sense of the events happening and here is my take:
Be it consensual or forced sex, Murtasim is not feeling guilty of rape. At no point, in the edited or original version does he feel he raped his wife. He is feudal man, despite the charisma and sense of fashion. To him, it is dilemma of lust, desire and love. He has said it few times. He loves Meerab. Meerab has not expressed that to him. What might have been the original story is that Murtasim is angry, closes the door, comes to Meerab, starts forcing himself on her but along the way she gives in and it is no longer "by force".
It is a cliche and problematic theme from the 70s/80s to tame the hyper independent woman. Meerab is confused, which matches the expressions she had post the act. In that situation, Haya comes and sells this narrative of rape to her. That Meerab, the strong and the only who fights for rights of women allowed her husband to be forceful to her. Worse, she made it easier for him. She did not resist. She feels that she cheated on her identity and leaves to find herself. Once away though, she starts to recall the moments were there for her, saved her, protected her, made her feel she had a home. She is still processing whether she was raped or it was "in the flow" and she had her consent to it.
Murtasim is ashamed because he was rough and failed to live to his promise of waiting for her to initiate it. He deprived her of love and respect he feels she deserves. He thinks though that it was consensual. He does not sit and repent about rape at any time nor understands why she has left. Hence he going to Rohail and Saba. Or asking Haya if she did something.
Now, all depends on how Meerab interprets that night now, this is why the makers were initially claiming to trust Murtasim. When they edited that part, we are with a lot of flashbacks but the agency which Meerab had no longer exists.
It was problematic but that is what the writer had created in her world, and this is why I am not for mid drama propaganda to remove any scene or alter happenings. What really ruined Tere Bin is the way it was sold to the audience through horrible promos.
In this light, it even makes sense why Wahaj and Yumna would agree to do it, even though it endorses marital rape.
Unpopular opinion here, Sabeena Farooq did a bad job as Haya. Especially post Ep 47. In Ep 50, that scene between Murtasim and Haya had to set the tone for possible chemistry because the two. Her expressions her off. Haya has so much screen presence that she could have easily become one of the most loved negative characters we have had on TV. Haya had to be a perfect alternative to Meerab. Yet she is unbearable on screen. That is not in the writing. One can see the scope she was given. There was so much to play with. That is in the hands of the actor. One needs not feel compassionate about a mean character or glorify it, but one should not feel repulsed by it. Some negative characters light your screen.

the only, and i mean ONLY, reason to watch tere bin, was for yumna and wahaj's chemistry. not just the romantic chemistry but even when they're truly arguing and fighting like in the argument preceding the rape, where sparks were absolutely flying. but we know they're going to drag out these episodes of meerab being lost for probably a few more weeks. so now we have at least 5 episodes ahead of us where meerab and murtasim are separated... so there's truly nothing in this drama left for me to care about watching the episodes. at this point, i don't have it in me to watch even to find out the ending, because the edit where he obviously did rape her and all her behaviour is a reaction to that but in the edit they're pretending there wasn't a rape, makes the entire story so nonsensical that i truly have no fucks left to give about it. regretting the day i decided to try out episode 1 smh

Firstly I want Murtasim to get a knee massage to activate his tiny brain when it comes to Haya. I don’t care if he will be ready to marry haya or not in the future episodes. I don’t see that happening but you never know with the mind blowing writing. My issue is him giving hope to haya that she can have the ring if he doesn’t find meerab & run the house.
Secondly he was soaked in guilt a night ago and now he has the audacity to think meerab is with Rohail. Shame!
Lastly the writer left no crumbs in throwing both meerab & murtasim under the bus by 50th episode but made sure haya faces no repercussions. What’s the point if she faces her fate in last episode when meerab & murtasim are suffering in every.

If Wahaj was not okay with the grey character, he should have stepped out. Slaps were part of Murtasim's character, which should have shown him grey, but all those got removed, and suddenly MR It was even tough for people to accept because, for all 46 episodes, he was shown as a saint.
Secondly, no writer and production house can be this dumb as to make a drama in which one main lead is extremely favourable and the other is extremely dumb. Changes were definitely made in between when shooting was going on.

Than why didnt he changed that MR plot???? So according to that wahaj is more responsible for this disaster. Even jo meerub pr aya aesy uska bhi reaponsible ha. • @SKumar-os2ne
      @SKumar-os2ne ปีที่แล้ว

@@__aalam__ If it is supposed to have a happy ending, the main lead has to be atleast somewhat likable. Had he not changed the script and Murtasim was slapping Meerub left and right, even Haya too, and is still being glorified by people around him, and Meerub would be tolerating that, Wahaj would get so much hate for it that it would be possibly career ending move for him. Yumna is getting hate, but Tere bin has still boosted her career more than before. Actually had Murtasim been what he was written Yumna herself would get more hate as well for selecting this script. Yumna read the full script before signing it. The correct course of action would have been to alter both the characters accordingly, also the MR track, which we don't know why Wahaj and Yumna were not able to change. Do you think if Murtasim was that abusive from the start, Meerub would be likable? No she would look even dumber for staying and tolerating it, while she was introduced as a strong, independant minded girl.

I am so surprised u guys have still not got the plot. All the clues are there right below our very noses. It’s a dark love story, it all about hate and revenge. The title , OST and Waqas chacha ‘s last words to Murtaseem should have rung a bell.
Tere bin is a story of two individuals brought up in two different environments; the girl in a modern environment; the boy in a feudal environment who thinks that women worship the very ground he walks on . .His marriage gets fixed up with this girl who hates him refuses to marry him and then puts a contract . It hurts his male ego that a woman could refuse him ?? .
Didn’t it bother u all that Murtaseem changed the moment from a angry young man to a lover boy just after the Nikaah ?? Nikaah can change a person but not in few hours . It has bothered me for the past 50 episodes. ; when did Murtaseem exactly fall in love?? He didn’t ; maybe he got a soft corner at the mosque but he never fell in love so he thought, He makes all the right moves to win her heart but is not very successful as our Meerub thinks with her head and not her heart.,. The only time she thinks with her heart she gets betrayed.
The sex was always consensual becoz after the door closes they fight and then Meerub tells him that she loves him. They have sex but after that Murtaseem tells her he never loved her she was his conquest as he always gets what he wants. After all he is Khan Murtaseem khan. Meerub is devastated at his betrayal ( her crying face ) and with Haya adding fuel to the fire she leaves the haveli. Never to return.
Meanwhile Murtaseem feels guilty for breaking her heart and when he comes back home and does not find her; he rushes to Rohail to look for her thinking that she will run to him as he ( Murtaseem ) has betrayed her . When he does not find her at Saba’s that’s when slowly dread starts entering his heart and then he realizes he has lost her forever. ( Tears in his eyes when he is looking for her)
What he does not realize that while masquerading his love he has fallen deeply and truly in love with Meerub.
Meerub being betrayed for the second time in her life will try to make her life of her own and therefore will never tell Murtaseem abt Meesam. Knowing Meerab she would never have kept the rape baby. Meesam is the symbol of the love she loved and lost.
Meanwhile MB wil pressurize MK to marry Haya after almost 2 years and probably Meesam will get hurt will need blood blah blah rare blood grp and then Saba wil tell Murtaseem and they will meet and Murtaseem will ask for forgiveness. Meerub will forgive him and then happy ending.
If this is not the story then @ Har pal geo better give me money for this story . It’s better than Maam Makdoum any day @aamna and @hasanchoudhry

If they wanted to save Murtasim's character by taking out the marital rape angle, they might as well have just left it in because Murtasim ka character waisay bhi barbaad kar diya hai. He doesn't seem remorseful, just jealous, vengeful, and concerned with retrieving his "property". We don't see his love. If they took out the MR angle to make the reunion more digestible then maybe they'll succeed. Murtasim, for me, they've assassinated. Meerab, on the other hand, seems like she's suffering from Stockholm syndrome. And it would have been really dangerous if they'd left the rape angle in and let her pine for him. Oh man, how did these 2 brilliant actors agree to this? Yumna mentioned in the Talk Talk show that she asked wahaj to read the end before saying yes. They clearly knew the end would be problematic. Unless there's some really big twist at the end that we just can't see, what theyve done with this show has really been very dirty

Had his brag been true, he wouldn't be in his grave by now. If his ugly rodomontades were true, Meerab had informed her foster parents about Maryam's intentions and the parents could avert the misadventure and the family could be saved from the great loss of their honour and property. But the second time Meerab's decision was superb to leave the house and wander all around Hyderabad and Karachi. Why Mr. Waqas? Why didn't she bother to give you a call and inform you about her trauma? Here again, you could have saved everyone from the agony they are facing now, and you would be alive.

In 19:03 what are you guys saying..i think she is not longing.. I think she is so much in pain that how could her husband (who claimed that he loves her so much) did this to her. She was thinking about how many times murtasim said that "tumhe ye contract khud phadna hoga tabhi hamare beech duriyan khatam hogi". I think meerab was thinking about that and it's hurt her so much because she was also started fall for him. I think she was so lost and disturb. I am also agree with what Hassan says..it is also possible. If she really wants murtasim (according to current scenario) she would went back to him but she didn't because she wouldn't able to forgive him. Also what I heard that there no happy ending because haya wearing a wallima gown in viral pictures..and also there is picture of meerab with a 5yr old girl and meerab wearing simple cloth..that means she alone raised the child (but earlier she is with a 2 yr old girl). So there is no happy ending 😢

She came on maryam's wedding night got raped or had consensual sex whatever left the house reached khi roamed around the streests of khi reached guest house called her friend changed and slept then dragged out of the guest house due to raid found rickshaw wala got harrassed again all in one night??? When clearly on other side they have shown that 2 nights have gone. 1 when murtasim left the house after the showdown spent whole night on beach came in the morning got confronted by naurez found abt meerab's escape wandered around the streets talked to police wala got a phone call abt waqas uncle death at the beginning of 2nd night then did tadfeen the other day came home talked ho haya(how so calmly still cant digest) . So in murtasim maa begum and meerab's parents world 2 nights have gone and in meerab's world only 1 night or its also the 2 nights . ?

I am sure it was no MR in the script it was just a hook for the viewers. Aamna is right that there is longing on Meerubs face and she is missing Murtaism . Meerub is feeling defeated after giving in for physical intimacy. This was the only thing she had control on in her life and Murtaism seeing her unhappy make him guilty . My weird theory 😅...hoping they will clear in coming episodes. Murtaism did defend Meerub in front of Haya and I think he said on any cost he will find Meerub . Haya character is for that added Masala that's the reason every one is overlooking her faults and she is favourite of Nooran.
Well she will be phupho soon 😂

But afterwards she is ashamed for giving in and he is ashamed for initiating it by force. Read some of the highland romances - Knight triumphant for example…. 😄
