I loved the video. It isn't often that I see any videos that are local to me. You showed it beautifully. I have never seen the Umpqua hot springs when it wasn't packed full of people. It has always been kind of a local party spot. You got extremely lucky. The forest here is amazing. I typically go way out into the woods, farther than most people care to go. I can't get any cell service where I go but I love it that way. It's very peaceful without any distractions at all.
I nearly cried seeing you walk up the path through the trees after visiting the springs. I want to be in a place like that so much it hurts. I'm just beginning my van build and won't be ready to go anywhere for weeks. I've been working on this project for 4 years to get to this point. It's time for me to go!!! Thanks for this lovely video. It's helping my inspiration to forge ahead and get to those lovely places. Thank you, thank you.
@@hsoderberg6505 I do take trips to the mountains in San Diego County. However, it's summer & very hot and very dry. I'm jonesing for cool, wet, green trees and rivers. We don't have that here. Haven't seen anything like that in over 10 years. But, thanks for the suggestion.
1. Thank you for sharing your life with us. 2. I so enjoy your voice over work! 3. Eliza is such a good girl‼️❤️ 4. Your mom is beautiful. 5. So nice to see Elli. 6. I enjoy how you take us through the process of what you are doing. 7. I haven’t a clue as to why I numbered these.
Glad you mentioned the amount of time it takes to put out your fantastic videos. That and setting up the camera, getting the perfect shot, walking back to get the camera, drone views, it's exhausting. Not to mention how you want to narrate each scene. Give Eliza some extra rubs from me for being your BFF on this journey.
I believe this was the best van life video ever . You have a great way of describing your surroundings .. I love the relationship you have with Elisah..
I really enjoy watching nice people like you enjoying nature and camping in the forest and going on adventures. You are very good at making videos. Thank you for inspiring me!
It's nice to see you select your camping spot, drive, and camp over night all in one video. Oh, all the cool water and hot springs look so inviting. There are so many of my favorites are in this video. Eliza is such a sweetheart and she oozes with love for you. It's nice to see your mom waving you onto your next journey. There is just so much green in Oregon. Such beauty and peace. Ahhh...
Awesome scenery there 😊. Nothing like being out in nature. I always feel grounded when out there. Seeing when you're out enjoying yourself makes me wish I were there to.
Another great video Maddie! I just love the way you make these videos; videography is beautiful and the narration wonderful. I just love the way you use language to paint beautiful ‘wordscapes’. I find your voice mesmerizing - you should write stories and record them for others to listen to. Keep doing what you do. With love from Southern Spain.
This is one of the most wonderful van life videos Iv’e ever seen. I could feel how tranquil and breathtaking the area is. I love Oregon and I’m planning to move, their next spring. Thank you for a wonderful little break.
First, you and your Mom are adorable and make me homesick for mine who lives in my birth State of Alaska. Long way from where I live in Montana (5-7 day drive or 6-7 hr plane ride plus layovers as it also depends on what large airport you go through). So I’m glad you got to spend a lot of quality time with her while in California. Second, OMG Oregon (AND Alaska are tied) is my spirit animal. Well IF my spirit animal could be a place. Half of my family live in Oregon around the Portland area as well as Bend. If you are planning on traveling around the State and want some time away from the Ocean I highly *HIGHLY* recommend visiting, “The Columbia River Gorge” and all it’s glorious waterfalls and primordial forests with amazing flora and fauna. The other place I’d visit would be near Bend in the area of Sisters Oregon. The lakes, forests and wilderness have great hikes that are around the awesome little community of Sisters. Love love LOVE the community and up until a few years ago I would’ve said I would pick any of the greater Portland area to live (up until 2020) but if I could afford it any of the Coastal Communities in Oregon but then my brother and his wife went camping near Sisters. Definitely one of the most unique and fun areas to explore. The three Sister volcanoes are also pretty cool to see. I hope you and Eliza have an amazing trip to the Pacific Northwest. If you ever need a place to park or suggestions on where to visit in Montana send me a dm on Instagram (same name). Have fun and be safe! Much love and positive vibes from Montana. ✨💖✨
Uuuugh! I just really need you to work on documentaries with discovery or something! You videography is so beautiful and all the plant and animal knowledge fills my SOUL! Thank you for sharing this with us! ❤️
It was good to ground yourself and recharge, you really needed that, but I am happy you are feeling the need to explore again, I see so many beautiful places thru your lens.
This is a Very Well Done Video 👍 gorgeous scenery, the hot springs look very Inviting. You Ellie and Eliza ,,,even your mom, All look healthy and happy. Stay Safe, keep posting and I'll keep watching 🙏👍
I am typically always feeling anxious…tho it is not apparent on the outside…watching your experiences, your narration, the tone of your voice, and your capture of the environment, brings me a certain kind of calmness that I hope will be my experience once I brave my journey out of my driveway onto the road. …and I love the shot of that bridge 🤘🏼🙏🏼❤️✊🏼
Beautiful drive. Loved the video because you showed a bit of everything. Goodbye’s, the drive, life in the van which I think is so cosy. Subbing with Eliza on a beautiful river. Eliza is so adorable, it’s like she smiles sometimes 🥰.
Wow! Another wonderful video I am so glad you shared with us. I cannot dream what you do so I enjoy watching these videos of yours much more. Thank you and please stay well and safe.
I love your feminine flow! I am the same! And it is interesting how so many people expect itinerary to be planned out way in advance and set in stone. But i love your way! And I love your sweet mom!! Sending love.
Welcome to Oregon, Maddie. I have lived here most of my life, and I was born and grew up on the Oregon Coast. There was so much of Oregon I had never seen, then about 5 years ago I decided to travel and see Oregon (and other places close by). I discovered and fell in love with Oregon all over again, as there is more to Oregon than trees and green. There is beauty everywhere, but Oregon has such a variety. Enjoy your stay here, but don't be in a big hurry to leave. The east side of the state has it's own specialties. I would recommend traveling through Hell's Canyon/Snake River, Hart Mountain Antelope Refuge (Hotsprings Campground-my favorite hot spring), and Leslie Gulch near Lakeview. If you get a chance to be here in the spring, the Blue Mountains around La Grande and west towards Ukiah are just loaded with a plethora of wildflowers. I found my very first Ladyslipper Orchids at Drift Fence Campground near Ukiah. They have several other orchids there, as well as Mariposa lilies, glacier lilies, camas (edible and poison) grass widows, and on and on. Stay away from that area in the dead of winter though. I also spooked out a cougar while doing my wildflower photography, so carry bear spray at a minimum. Looking forward to where you go.......
Sure is a gorgeous camping spot! We are hitting the road soon in our van and hope to find spots like that... So much beautiful nature! We can't wait to explore the PNW! Your pup is so cute... Thanks for sharing! 💙Terry and Terri
Another great video. You film some wonderful stuff, the shots of the River from above and the hot springs were great. The bloopers at the end were fun. I have to say you have the most calming voice of the people I follow on you tube. Stay safe and I hope you find some wonderful places.
That campsite by the river was just so idyllic - don’t think you could have dragged me away from there if you had tried!!! You seem so much more relaxed than you have been recently - spending time with your mum has obviously been good for you - really pleased that you are so enthusiastic to be back on the road again!!! Keep safe and hugs to the gorgeous Eliza (what a brave girl going on the paddle board!!) xx
Another super video, many thanks. Your personality shines through these videos, you provide such lovely descriptions of the places you visit and they add a lot to your excellent videography - you're a natural. My very best wishes for your future travels. Thanks again!
I've been enjoying following your journey. You seem so wise and gentle and clear and authentic for such a young woman. I live in S. ORegon and have visited Umpqua (we call it Tokatti) Hot Springs many times. Glad to see it look so much cleaner that when I was last there. Good luck on your journey. Maddie, This is my 1st. time on your channel. Your calm, and cool attitude, along with great photography, and editing, plus your being so very easy on my old eyes tells me I think I'll be checking out this channel again sometime soon! Happy Camping! ......Mike in Minn.
I love listening to you narrate your videos. I was going to call you a wordsmith; but that would be an understatement. You definitely have a gift for the spoken word. Sorry about the roads in Colorado ( my home state).
I miss Oregon and the PNW, I haven't been there since 2001. The whole Umpqua river area is beautiful. My great uncle took us to a fabulous falls area and swimming hole.... It was Spring and closed due to high flow, but that didn't stop him from wanting to show us, so we hoped the gate to go see....he was in his 70s but super fun...a WWII veteran. At the time, Toketee/Umpqua Hot Springs were more of a local secret, not known much by outsiders.... I was warned by my cousin that it was clothing optional. Your video REALLY captures the beauty of the area. Well done. I need to get back there.
so beautiful I just half to visit those hot springs ASAP! I'm so happy that you are back on the road enjoying life to the fullest! Your dog on the paddle board was so adorable! 😍
Back on the road. WooHoo! Years ago I stayed at Carson Spa Resort in Oregon, which dates back to the 1930s. Very rustic but special experience when I was there 25 years ago. They have since renovated but still offer soaks in their claw footed tubs followed by a linen wrap and the best massage I ever had. Umpqua Hot Springs pools look amazing. Aahhh! I need to visit.
Thanks for a very Beautiful video Maddie,it's good to see Eliza 2 the scenery is so calming and peaceful I love the way you did the Drone shots when you were on the lake, love the bloops as always stay safe my friend and much love ♥️ for you 🙏
Loved this video 🥰 I don't comment much but I watch all your videos. It was like watching a nature's channel 😊love the bloopers too, you should do a whole video of just those!
Your videos are getting better and better, if that’s even possible! So beautiful to watch and so cinematic. You’re really on top of the game with the drone footage and could listen to your botanical knowledge for hours.
Have lived in Oregon for 40 years now. Make sure to visit Crater Lake! It's amazing around that lake :). I also suggest the Columbia Gorge, Mt. Hood, Mt. Bachelor areas as well. Have fun!

It’s too bad so many people have destroyed the Hot Springs. 15 years ago used to be quite the peaceful place no graffiti no trash great place to sit and meditate!! sad to see what it has become! It’s a very stunning place in the snow!
It is so fun watching you explore. You brought a new light to AZ, where I lived for 8 years and now are in my home state of Oregon! If you ever end up in Vermont you have a free parking spot and vegan meal :)
Key words “A lot to be grateful for”. Life is better viewed through that stance 😊
