Scalpay: almost empty. I think there is another Scalpay next to Skye? Even emptier… hope you found a cafe eventually, you looked so disappointed at the lack of coffee at the lighthouse!

Yes, there's another Scalpay next to Skye! Could go there on a future trip and see how empty it is?!😊
Yea, I actually was disappointed we didn't get any coffee🙈

Yea, we need to remember when we next visit remote places or islands. Can recommend Scalpay, it's a lovely wee island😊

Probably lack of any beach on Scalpay unlike Harris which are unbelievable. Tarbert was your best bet for a coffee etc but Sundays are a bit iffy for certain things due to religious restrictions but have eased a bit in recent years.

The beaches on Harris are unbelievable! But there's something about Scalpay that we really like - so would go back again. Yea, we noticed that some cafes etc were closed on Sundays - always need to remind myself when we're visiting Scottish islands 😊

Oh I intend to buy a place in Lewis. I'd love to be in eyeshot of Tiumpanhead lighthouse especially in the evening with the light beaming around.
Once my daughter moves out of my flat I'm selling and I'd be happy to have the worse house on the island than one of the best in London.

@johnmacdonald3282 That sounds like a brilliant plan☺ I'm sure you'll find a very nice house on the island! We actually saw a few very nice ones for sale when we visited😄

@terrifictraveltales I know my friend. I follow the estate agents on fb and daily see houses on the market and all I can do for now is just weep lol. But as long as my daughter needs my flat the dream won't happen until as she is everything to me which is why I want a big place because she might need it herself oneday or my son. I lived on the island in the 80s and even worked for Tawse for a while.

      @@johnmacdonald3282 Yea that's completely understandable!
So you know the island well already? I'm sure that some day you can move there and you'll find an excellent house :)
