- Watch Justin attempt to reveal the stunningly bright color under the sand inclusions of this rough opal. Stay tuned till the end to find out if he has a win or a flop. But I gotta say this one is exciting no matter which angle you look at it.

I bought an opal from Justin and it's magnificent. It's at the jeweler now going into it's custom setting and it's going to be a spectacular ring...Black Opal Direct isn't a "discount" opal dealer but the quality is second to none and he's very trustworthy. Was willing to work with me every step of the way providing extra videos of the opals I was considering and his support staff are marvelous. Highly recommended.
Thank you Mike 🙏
Congratulations. I wish I could get even a small one.
@@carolharris2357just keep checking up on his site and eventually you will! I found a 0.70 carot dark opal (mostly blue play of color) for only $50, marked down from $100. I eventually found a vintage silver bolo tie with a setting that was the perfect size for it surprisingly!
@@blackopaldirectI agree some stuff you cut is nice but you way over value them considering most of the weight of them is poch people don't pay for poch like the gem cut in this vid 90% of the stones weight is valueless poch
@@blackopaldirect$1500-2000 max imo
Oh Justin. You've outdone yourself. The opals were nice. The rap was BRILLIANT! LOL! Better get a record company on board. Hi everyone. Greetings from Dimboola in Victoria, Australia. 🙂
haha thanks Nancy
🤣🤣👏👏.
Cheers, Nancy! I agree
What skill! You exorcised the sand demon, and gave us 2 beautiful gems!! ROCK ON MAESTRO!!!
What a treat that ending was! OPAL FROM LIGHTNING RIIIIIIIDGE! 🤣 Great video, Justin, crazy transformation of a Gem. Thanks for sharing your talent with us :)
Thanks so much! haha
Well done…skillfully cut…great results. And that’s a rap.
Justin, you are the man! Not only a master gem cutter, but also a rapper, Dancer, and wannabe clown comedian! I love it! Take care, and we'll see you on the next. 😂
He could be one of Joe's cabinet members. It's a circus.
Wow wow wow. Absolutely amazing Justin. That was priceless. Oh wait you thought I meant the Opals. I was talking about the Rap. Lol. Those Opals are out of this world stunning. So happy for you. The fact that the rough produced a bigger stone then you originally thought was extra extra bonus. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. 😊
This is the piece that I voted for to be your first cut of the 5. So glad it turned out so beautifully! Awesome color.
Yay! Thank you!
Justin's got the MOVES! Well done, both on the opals and the music video!!
Thank you for sharing things like this with us- no hype, no gimmicks, no script, just pure joy & contagious excitement. We love being part of it with you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the triangle, such color.
I need that as a ringtone! 😂❤ Beautiful work as always! Very grateful you are sharing your knowledge gained from your experiences to others. Even though I'm not cutting stones, one day I hope to have a hobby setup for it so I can enjoy the ups and downs of giving new form to raw stones. Watching you face challenges and disappointments alongside your victories shows such a beautiful aspect of the process and videos like this one with the life lessons are spectacular. You are the Bob Ross/Steve Irwin/Mister Rodgers of opal. ❤
Wow!! Just a fantastic job editing, filming, and rapping this one.
Upper crust delivered , even for a YT pro!!
So Thanks for the show
Justin and Co.,
Greetings from Mike in Granby
Colorado
Glad you enjoyed it Mike 🙏
No longer beaten by sand, top job Justin, Rap ON !!!!!
lol thanks
I don't really know how I came across your videos but I am truelly mesmorized. I'm sure it has nothing to do with me being a geologist. I really enjoy watching you create some of the most beautiful opal gems. I was wondering, have you seen any of your opals in their final jewelery setting? If so maybe share them in a video. Thanks Justin and crew of BOD for the great informative, interesting and creative videos.
This should be a series. Beauty or Bust?
Beauty for sure! They turned out amazing!!! I love your videos. You have taught me sooo much!!
LOVE the rap!!! lol
Speaking of teaching can you talk about Doublet opals. A friend of mine got scammed by some selling a "doublet" it was actually holographic paper and resin... I sent her to your channel to learn more about opals.
The large stone is beautiful but the small triangle makes my heart sing, that full red flash is phenomenal!
Wow video quality and lighting is outstanding with this video. Can clearly see all that the opal has to offer.
Thank you Justin for making Mother Nature so bright and shiny and colorful💯🫡💯
You are the OPAL MASTER! These two gems are absolutely GORGEOUS! I LOVED your Opal Rap! 🩵🩵🩵
You're the best! Thank you
Yay, Justin is "scruffy" today! Love it. And...the Rap! We need a copy of that drop for the listen later Justin on the download. I could see me "pimpin down the ave" jammin that tune...lol The stones were a total score and great content. Thanks Justin for sharing. Always a pleasure to watch.
Beautiful stone and great rap... You are the voice of Opal....lol
Wow, thank you!
This one has to be one of my new favorites. Those color flashes are amazing. I love watching your videos. Even the goofy stuff. Lol
That was awesome! Justin you really are the lapidary OG!
Two awesome stones out of that sand ball and he’s got game‼️
I get very excited when these videos come out! Such skill you have, Justin.
Incredible stone but the skills are even better!
It has been a rough 2 months for me but the ending of this video... no spoilers but anyone who left after the first few minutes have no idea what they missed!
First time in a while I have felt actual joy. My face hurts from smiling, glad a viewer got me to watch it and record the viewing (might become a video).
Such good info and entertainment in one video. Inspiring.
Roy I'm sorry you are not having a good time at the moment. I hope it gets better for you. glad I could make you smile.
@@blackopaldirect More than a smile, but like you said in the video just gotta push on when you are having a bad run. Who knows, maybe the opal gods will turn it all around.
“opal from lightning riiiiiiiiidge!” Kudos, it’s never east to put yourself out there creatively.
What an amazing result! The color on both of them is just off the charts brilliant! Truly skilled to cut off the point and make another stone from it! What a awesome video Justin, you really have outdone yourself this time.
Let’s hope you dance, Justin dance!🎶🎵🎶
hmmm keep watching
Hi cristinechildress. Greetings from Dimboola in Victoria
@@nancycurtis7315 Hello from central Illinois! 😉

Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks or sharing this beautiful journey Justin!
Fun to watch. Thanks for many expert presentations on opal reveals and polishings.
Thank you for making my day start off with a smile Justin, you rock!
Both these stones are amazing!
Congrats Justin!! Its beautiful!Great song and dance!!
Thanks for what you said about mistakes. You are so encouraging!
Great cut and gorgeous stone .
Beautiful cut gem, it that rap was the funnies and best part. Keep on having fun and making us smile. Thanks.
Your opals are exquisite, Justin! It’s my favorite gemstone. I purchased several beautiful Ethiopian opals and a few Mexican fire opals several years ago, and someday I would like to get some put into jewelry. I can never get enough of these beautiful stones.❤
Love the video and what a result! more than we could have all wished for!
A slight detail that I love that might go overlooked by some is your skill and confidence of cutting one stone whilst the other is still cradled in your hand aha! No chance I would be able to do that without over thinking it lol!
Thanks for sharing Justin
Glad you enjoyed it!
The rap was also quite the pleasant surprise!!!
Outstanding Justin.
Love your advice mate.
Namaste
Amazing Talent! Thank you for taking time to share your knowledge and expertise.
Thank you! Cheers!
BRAVO SIR!!! I feel complete!
Great results in the end! And that rap came out a lot better than I expected going in lol awesome video, Justin.
lol thanks Greg
Just spectacular stones, Justin!
Oh, Justin, I love it. That was great👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
i love how the color (the blue in particular) is so intense it over exposes the camera
I love the drama when you’re cutting, Justin - and the humour when you’ve done a good one!💖🤣
Thank you
And this "drama" and music makes me more and more stopping to watch these taped and edited Videos...
I like the craftsmanship very much, but this ist getting more and more in the background...
I love getting my opal from you and your team! Always top-notch
Bob Ross said.."we dont make mistakes we have happy accidents!"😊
true that
That was brilliant mate!!!
I can really feel for you, the risk you feel and how carefully you have to grind. There is never a guarantee whether the stone has cracks or not. Well done! And I personally think your respect for Mother Earth is great!!! When I grind, I am always connected to the place of origin of the mineral. So I cut large printstones and was connected to the Aboriginals the whole time. In the middle of the grinding, I stripped naked and smeared the iron grinding residue on my skin and danced and connected with Australia.💚🙏💚
Yeah, if life shows you stormy weather just dance and sing with the storm and trust in your skills for not blown away!!!
And your song is really great!!!❤
One of my favorite videos for a few different reasons.
Oh my word, you're hilarious! My Son and I have been really ill with flu, but you're just the tonic lol
That was great.😂 Love it.❤ Please do more🎉
Oh this on was tense! I soooo love these long videos where we get to watch you from start to finish. My favorite type of video. I would bet anything Saxon did watch this video!
He didn’t watch this one
It was a nail biter! But you did a great job!

Nice suspenseful opening. Got me pumped! Hoping for a dance AND a song!...
It was more than I could've ever hoped. Stunning stones, and that song was EPIC. OPAL FROM LIIIIGHTNIIING RIIIIIDDGGGE!!!
Always look forward to seeing the journey of these especially when there's been the preview on your secondary channel for the website.
lol spoiler alert sorry
Wonderful stones! Incomparable rap! Right on!
Love it Justin!! 💜 You NEVER fail to entertain no matter what you are doing 😁!!!
The "Opal Rap" is along with the "anonymous opal addicts" my favourite of your extras! Love it!! More of them!!!
Wowsers!. What an absolute Ripper of a gem. All those beautiful colours and such a big gem too, it was great seeing you give birth to such a beauty. Loved watching gem number 5, I think it was the one I voted for in the competition. Thank you Justin, for sharing your skill and expertise, you are truly the master of opal cutting. Also a return to your musical talents was a joy, your a very talented person Justin, in case the cutting goes bad you could always go on to becoming a rapper, lol. Great fun, missed your crazy antics, it was a welcomed return. As always thanks to Black Opal Direct for yet another great video........ until next week.........
I think the type of rapping is the Christmas wrapping that I might show more talent in haha. Thanks Topcat
Congratulations🎉❤❤❤
That was a tough one had me on the edge of my seat . Was nervous for you good job mate 👍🏻

Much appreciated! hahahahha
Hahaha I loved the last bit, more precious than the rocks 🤣🤣🤣👍
Lucky Justin! You get to open Christmas presents every day of the year. True, some of the boxes contain coal, but the good presents more than make up for the duds.
Never, never have I imagine opal cutting can be so exciting.
Each stone is different and each cutting can yield different result..
Much more beautiful than diamond or any other solid color gem stone.
Very true!
Hi from St. Louis, MO. I’m so impressed with the video quality and background music- well done. It’s always exciting to see an extraordinary stone appear from under the sand. Funny close. I like this much more than the live efforts, although they’re all good.
Nice stones and nice rappin lmao🤣😂 wish y'all best of luck on the next video and stones🤘👍
OMG! lol I was not expecting to be that entertained 😂 Justin you have some talent! I see you. Beautiful Gems!! If each one of those can get a rap song out of you, then you know you're doing something right. Well done sir. 🎬👏👏👏
Nice words.., make mistakes, embrace them and learn from them. Useful for other moments too...
I am always amazed by the level of skill and quality of gems in your videos. If I may make one request Justin, I believe it may be helpful to a lot of us that when you're looking at the finished gem and speaking about final weight and price, to also mention your original cost or value of the stone in the rough. I know it may sometimes be challenging because they are bought by the lot and are each of different quality, but perhaps you could give an appraisal of what that stone in the rough should cost, then compare to the final polished gem price. It would be much appreciated and I believe help a lot of us to get a better understanding of the value and appraisal process.
expert job of cutting the opal the stones you ended up with have awsome colours
Thank you! Cheers!
Brilliant!!! Love it. I totally missed your dancing. Its been too long! The rap 😂😂😂😂 awesome
lol Thank you
