And that was 1 year ago.. Time flies so fast.. At my place it did created some craze for P20.. Few of my friends switched their phones to P20..
I was really amazed by its “twilight” gradient back design back then.. but now almost every flagship comes with gradient color..

Battery life and charging speed is why i use still the impressive mate 10 pro
This phone is awesome - I sold my Note 9 for it and even have Desktop Mode to replace DeX. It is amazing in terms of battery life, quick charging, camera and response.
4200mAh is not the same 4200mAh, Huawei optimize battery life crazily through task management, file system, even chips, even third-party app collaboration. So it get far better battery life comparing other phones which has similar battery size, like S10+. What's more, it will perform far better if you are using it normally due to very intelligent os battery optimization
But 4200mAh is still the same as 4200mAh, hardware-wise. The software makes the difference. Loving my P30.
Standing updated, actual testing showed almost no difference between Huawei p30 pro and Samsung s10+.
Watching on my P30 pro and I concur. I top up from around 45% to 100% in 25 minutes every day.

Been an apple user since forever. Decided to change phones and went with the P30 Pro. Couldn’t be happier tbh. You get a lot more phone for the money imo. 👍

I started using Huawei when I bought the P10 and never looked back since then. I had an iPhone 6 before the P10 and the gulf in class between the battery life was insane. Now I have the P30 Pro and I can go a full 24 hours+ without charging it. That's if I don't use youtube and other streaming apps. Even if I do, it still manages to last me much longer than I expected... Well done Huawei!!

I think that one thing no one is talking about this phone is the new gaming mode where you can use this phone's TOF camera as nintendo Wii for gaming. That feature is revolutionary for me and it will definitely change the mobile gaming in future.
I get 8hrs SoT on my p30 pro. With s10+ I get like 6-7hrs.

40% at 11pm significantly better than my S10 can manage. Its more like 40% at 6pm. Battery life should be better really, we shouldn't be forced to phablets to get acceptable battery.

You will need to import it to the US since there are not sold in the US as far as I know.
its younger brother, the p30 also lasted me 2 days with about 36% left of juice. that’s with moderated to heavy use of apps like social media and some games. it trounced off my iphone X which could only last me a day (almost) of the same type of use.
My wife has just got the p30 lite and in camera mode there is a translation app/facility
Just let the camera see the foreign language text and it gets translated.
I have used Google translate and it is bit fiddly
The p30 lite is only the cheap version but it seems like a good battery life as well.
GSM arena says its 94 h rating on the battery and the pro is 89 h
Obviously the pro version has more inside but I noticed it came out in 2018 and the lite version is 2019
The lite version is also half price at 259 pounds on amazon and 599 to 700 for the pro
So we're happier

Totally agree. The biggest problem with my previous iPhone is the battery life and the charging time. Althoug the iPhone is a great phone, I have to charge it twice one day, which is a pain. So I swiched to Mate 20 pro, which is much better on battery life and charging speed. Then the P30 Pro is even better..

I want to know about the split video recording huawei were talking about, I guess it will be on the phone when it comes out.
I have a Galaxy S9 and the battery life is definitely an issue. But since batteries need some magic-like technology to take them to the next level, the compromise always was - and for the next few years will be - ease of use (a smaller phone is more manageable) VS battery cell size.
It isn't the best battery in the market because I was using the mate 20 x for 5 months and it has a 5000mah and a 7.2 inch display that phone is a absolute beast, I've moved to the p30 pro tho because of the camera and the smaller display

Great phones and all. With one deal-breaking feature. They all seem to run on the ageing 2.1 UFS type. And while System optimisation (Huawei) really makes a difference in squeezing out every bit of that UFS 2.1 speed, I was really hoping to see the newer UFS 3.0 this year.
Do you think the Note10 will support it? On this generation SoC? Or do you think we'll have to wait till next year.

I've just bought my Huawei P30 Pro and video quality in facebook even some youtube videos is really bad, pixelated. I compare to my iPhone 6s which I still have it and it is a 4 years older phone which runs them perfect on a smaller screen. There must be some trick with the resolution that Huawei must fix! Any info to share?

You'll be happy. I jumped from my Samsung Note to P30 Pro and seems like everything looks and feels much better compared to Samsung. Even EMUI 9.1 works great so far.

They have privatespace which is like having a second profile kept separate from the first. In fact it's like having two phones in one keeping all data and apps apart

The PRROBLEM noone is talking about with the phones from Huawei is the reason for the awesome batterylife: it's because the OS kills everything, to such an extent that I keep missing important notifications. The solution to this is to use a couple of hours, digging deep down in the settings and adding all of the exceptions to the batterysaving policy you need, but then what happens to the batterylife? It plumits down to bearly average. I got a Mate 20 Pro from work, but I don't even use it because of this. I cannot comprehend why noone is talking more about this issue.

What is your comment on the sound volume from the speaker.
I hear some say the volume very low don't know if they mean calls or just music etc.. its the only thing that might put me off this phone

The Huawei phones are great but I don't see a reason why the two series exist, I mean the P and the Mate, when they are basically the same. It's not like the Samsung Note, which differs from the S series, with its bigger size and the stylus pen, that is focused towards the viewers that like to take notes.
I don't see a reason why you exist.
P series is meant for photography.. P will use the last year chipset but having more advanced camera.. while Mate focuses on performance by introducing brand new chipset for that year.. that’s the difference..
