sending a heartfelt tribute to a most talented comedy writer, director and overall mench that ever lived. Missing you already Gary Marshall, one of the last of the good guys! May he RIP.
I miss Laverne & Shirley, I kept watching them when I was an elementary to junior high student. Their stories also inspiring me to earn money as great worker like them ;)
No. Love Boat theme sounded like a lounge act. This one, The Jeffersons, One Day At a Time, Cheers and Mash had great melodies. So did Facts of Life which was written by Alan Thicke.
The opening of Laverne and Shirley reminds me of my first job in a processing plant.. right down to the forklift coming through the swinging doors! We dressed about the same too. This was one of my favorite shows too! Thanks! :)
long long time ago ... so many memories of back then small town slept with all doors and window's open all night not even one lock on the door... we played outside all night always sleeping out all night no worries...miss those days ... Now every door in the house 2 or 3 locks on them we have alarm systems so when we are out no one will go in.we sleep with guns in drawers by our bed or under our pillows. and a child is not even safe in his own yard or neighborhood..... So where did those good ole HAPPY FREE OF FEAR DAYS GO???????????
Bonnie Draper dont forget a person could work a simple 8 hour day/ 40 per week, and had enough to live off of and still enjoy life. Meanwhile, no cameras were over your shoulder at every turn. Life is terrible in this country now...terrible.
Bonnie Draper The dirty lie is that they're still here, people were just sold decades of fear by politicians and oligarchs to make them buy products they don't need and give up freedoms they should have kept in order to stay safe from phantoms and boogeymen. If you send your children out to play now police will round them up and you'll get a visit from child protective services. It's sad that people are willing to give up their sanity for protection they don't need. 9/11 changed everything, and not in a good way.
I remember vaguely my mom watching this show when I was growing up, ignored it, recently rediscovered it on COZI and MEtv and it's GREAT!! In fact, most of those old-school shows are AMAZING compared to the utter CRAP on tv nowadays. I'm hooked!!
This show we had on TV in Europe when I was young. Now, I can relive all memories digitally enhanced. Thank you very much for posting this catchy song!
Wow they had forklifts and warehousing back in the olden days? I'm 41 and this song was burned in my head for last 35 years and finally get to hear it again. My older brother watch this show as a kid.
I became aware of this show in 1977 when I was 5 years old. Reason is because I was watching the Fonz in Happy Days and this was a spin off from the show as Fonz was dating Laverne.
The creator of this show, Garry Marshall just passed away...this was just one of his great creations! RIP in Garry... Sorry to hear of your lost Penny.
I blame my older sister for making me remember this theme song. But i loved it though. Brings back childhood memories after they showed those daytime cartoons
shlimazel Someone with constant bad luck. When the shlemiel spills his soup, he probably spills it on the shlimazel. Fans of the TV sitcom “Laverne and Shirley” remember these two words from the Yiddish-American hopscotch chant that opened each show.
Been trying to figure out those first few words my whole life. Actually what I guessed was pretty much what they do say. Now if only I can get the song out of my head.
Suzanne Sperry , who is not Jewish but grew up among Jewish friends, tells me today re this rhyming rhyme at the beginning of the show, ''Dear Danny My childhood recollections go back to the early 1930s, so I expect it really predates Laverne & Shirley! -- Suzanne''
my friends at wikipedia and company tell me Don Harrison my wise editor was right re quote from wiki: ''At the start of each episode, Laverne and Shirley skip down the street, arm in arm, reciting a Yiddish-American hopscotch chant: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated,"
No wonder "Shotz" beer went bankrupt!!...quality control went down the tubes with these daydreaming bottle cappers!..(and yes..I know there is no real Shotz beer) :)
Michelle I was thinking same thing. 2 broke girls is no doubt influenced and is probably a 2010's updated version of this tv sitcom classic. Not the biggest fan of L&S but it still was better than 98% of scrpited shows now on tv.
Michelle Evans L&S was good considering the era. Can't take the comedic gold that came from many shows in the 70's I mean you had to be big to get a Spin off from Happy Days
Taking me back to my childhood!!
My childhood was awesome!!!

brings back a lot of memories. Shows how much physical comedy is gone from television. And I really like the singer.
Thank God for TH-cam
I miss Laverne & Shirley, I kept watching them when I was an elementary to junior high student. Their stories also inspiring me to earn money as great worker like them ;)
I think this is one of the BEST tv theme songs, along with the Love Boat theme!

William Gates definitely orchestrated by those people r so naive NOT 2 suspect
I remember that show. It was my first year after arrival to the US. I loved to watch it!

Brings back Nick at night memories.
Ashley Nieves yep
I remember vaguely my mom watching this show when I was growing up, ignored it, recently rediscovered it on COZI and MEtv and it's GREAT!! In fact, most of those old-school shows are AMAZING compared to the utter CRAP on tv nowadays. I'm hooked!!
Those were the days! A great tv show after work and dinner. No internet and a real life!
SO many memories just came alive feels great

It is give us any chance we will take it, read us any rule we will break it. I grew up watching this show. I love it then and I love it now!!
Henry Washington they are forklifts in warehouses today
With the combo of the visuals with the music, this is probably the best TV show theme song of all time.
Seriously.
Angel Medina Definitely one of them
Cindy Williams was a real cutie in her heyday.
I always loved Shirley -- still do, in fact
+Ronin 77 she looks much older now
Maybe because 35 years has passed?
One of the best sitcoms ever along with Happy Days and Three's Company.
+KlassyKat45 and Mork and Mindy...
+KlassyKat45 Good Times
+usaalways Dynomite!
+Adam Smith Happy Days and Three's Company were my other 2 faves.
One of my all time favourite tv theme songs!
I sang this to my ten-year-old daughter, and she said I was scaring her. Ha ha!
Thanks for posting this!
Hahaha, that's cute.
This one's for you grandma!!! Love & Miss you!!!! This was the show!!!
I became aware of this show in 1977 when I was 5 years old. Reason is because I was watching the Fonz in Happy Days and this was a spin off from the show as Fonz was dating Laverne.
Brings back childhood memories.
I wanna cry listening.
What are we doing, we got backstage tickets to Alice Cooper!
R.I.P. Garry Marshall. We've lost a TV giant.

The creator of this show, Garry Marshall just passed away...this was just one of his great creations! RIP in Garry... Sorry to hear of your lost Penny.
Funny show, many memories watching Laverne & Shirley.
I blame my older sister for making me remember this theme song. But i loved it though. Brings back childhood memories after they showed those daytime cartoons
Love this version Bless you for Putting it here!
I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS IN A WHILE.
1:10 Garth: What are we doin'? Wayne: Yeah, we got backstage passes to Alice Cooper.
Cyndi Grecco lead vocals and back up by Ron Hicklin Singers.
Back when dreams really could come true, and Cindy Williams was very hot!
The original Two Broke Girls
Yes, good call I love both shows
Pretty much.
Exactly. Except that Laverne and Shirley was well-written and funny.
GreedoUT yes i agree
Totally agree. Two broke Girls sucks!!!
I hear "[read] us any rule we'll break it" in the beginning and "we're gonna make [that] dream come true" at the end . . thoughts?
Much better than the ripoff Broke Girls show. These girls had humor without constant innuendos.
shlimazel
Someone with constant bad luck. When the shlemiel spills his soup, he probably spills it on the shlimazel. Fans of the TV sitcom “Laverne and Shirley” remember these two words from the Yiddish-American hopscotch chant that opened each show.
I've never ever seen or even heard of this but it Sounds familiar and is giving me a nostalgic feeling
It's been parodied in a few movies and TV shows. The movie Wayne's World as one comes to mind.
Been trying to figure out those first few words my whole life. Actually what I guessed was pretty much what they do say. Now if only I can get the song out of my head.
great intro
These two were always my favorite. They remind me of Thelma and Louise.
Dr. Hugh Bumazz they werent better than the odd couple
that has to be one of da greatest theme I've heard🎥
I remember this show.
Childhood memories
yup American idol brought me here too, had to show it to my 23 yr old son lol
And will do it our way
Wayne's World brought me here
Laverne and Shirley need to watch the safety video again, you never ride on a forklift!
Suzanne Sperry , who is not Jewish but grew up among Jewish friends, tells me today re this rhyming rhyme at the beginning of the show, ''Dear Danny
My childhood recollections go back to the early 1930s, so I expect it really predates Laverne & Shirley! -- Suzanne''
Those were the good old days
Wayne and Garth brought me here. WAIT I HAVE BACK STAGEPASSES TO THE ALICE COOPER CONCERT!!! LMFAO
R.I.P. Garry Marshall!
Rest In Peace Garry Marshall (Creator and Director).

my friends at wikipedia and company tell me Don Harrison my wise editor was right re quote from wiki: ''At the start of each episode, Laverne and Shirley skip down the street, arm in arm, reciting a Yiddish-American hopscotch chant: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated,"

RIP Garry Marshall, You were the best.
The building that says 'Welcome Milwaukee. Visitors' is Milwaukee City Hall.

Correction... READ us any rule we'll break it and at the end one line is... we're gonna make THAT dream come true

I miss America in the 1970s, SAFE....
+Eleanor Vassallo Really? What about Son of Sam? 1977
OMG. I remember watching this as a baby lol.
So that's where Wayne's World got those scenes and that catchy song from, eh?
Damn you, alchestbreach!
Wow, when they used to actually have jobs in America.
for realz. America's imploding.
way too funny
A one bedroom apartment is $1000 a month and you are supposed to live on minimum wage? You are insane.
No wonder I found it so familiar. Sam and Kat were doing their dance XD
Alright! Party...Bonus...
I Love God. He put me IN THE FURNACE 4 A WHILE, NOW I AM HARDER, THAN A DIAMOND
For those who have the channel ME-TV, that channel is broadcasting this show.
I went to Milwaukee once. I saw the Bronze Fonz. That's enough.

Once you've seen the Bronze Fonz, what else is there?
Lol this was the "70s show" for those 90s kids
peter lee This aired from 76-83 and was set in the 1950s. "That 70s Show" aired from 98-06.

It just git me that this is 2 Broke Girls... but good.
My wife caught me watching a 2 Broke Girls clip on TH-cam and I was like "No, honey, I swear I was searching for 2 Girls 1 Cup - honestly!"
Michelle I was thinking same thing. 2 broke girls is no doubt influenced and is probably a 2010's updated version of this tv sitcom classic. Not the biggest fan of L&S but it still was better than 98% of scrpited shows now on tv.
