Love a round up! The NARS light reflecting is my favorite of the year by far. The shade match is perfect, the finish is so blurring but natural and light, and it lasts so long on my face.
I’m peri menopausal and my skin is currently on a roller coaster 😂 I found that I really love the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Foundation for “real life”, because it’s difficult to find neutral undertone foundation. For work, I wear a Chanel foundation I’ve had for a little while - the warm undertones make me look healthy under the super bright fluorescent lighting 😂
I love the Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm Powder! I live in a tropical country and it’s just not the most ideal place to wear foundation for extended periods of time. The Blurring Balm Powder really does stay matte and controls my oils without feeling heavy. It’s the first product I’ve hit pan on this year.
I went to Vegas in August & only brought my Danessa Myrick’s balm powder for foundation & concealer. It was awesome! Great for traveling when you don’t want to carry liquid foundation in your luggage.
The Nars light reflecting is definitely going to be top for me. i absolutely love it, I've nearly finished my first bottle, so I bought my next one in the Nars sale
Hello gorgeous 😍. I just recently found out your channel and I am binge watching all of it. I absolutely adore you and your knowledge and really digressing and explaining everything about each product from under tones, applications and how to combine individual product in the "right" ways ❤️. You do it with such an ease and knowledge that its very easy for regular consumer to easily try out new ways to apply makeup. Even your voice sound so relaxing and not complicated to understand all your recommendations. Just love ❤️ you and your channel and videos 📹 ❤️ and reviews ❤️. Your researches for each and every video are just astonishing. It's probably takes so much time but your dedication to do it right is just admirable. Thank you 😊 💓 ☺️ 💗
I think your undertone is neutral-warm olive! I understand wanting to use something slightly more golden to bring more "life" into the skin, as olive toned skin can look "dull" (imo not dull - I love it - but how others might perceive it) because of it's greenness/mutedness. The Haus Labs 330 has the perfect amount of olive for you though that looks very natural :)
@@aliciaarcher do you have a primer like futuredew? Even Pat McGrath's foundation can look a little odd or dry on me when it ain't sitting just so, maybe try that with Lisa's foundaysh?
Lady Gaga’s foundation is incredible! I wasn’t going to get it, but kept reading reviews & went into Sephora to try it out, and was sold. It’s very beautiful.🔥
I purchased the Dynessa Myricks and the Nars this year. I LOVE the Nars. My skin looks amazing everyone I use. Soft, blurred, with a lit from within glow. Nars shades also work well for my olive with neutral to golden undertones. It works so well w my skin care and primers. Light reflecting and PM Labs are my two favorites.
I picked up the hourglass based on your first review. Holy crap, it is my HG. My skin looks flaaaawless as it really does look like a filter on my skin. I’ve never had people compliment my skin but I have had 3 separate strangers come up to me and tell me my skin looked beautiful. I have oily skin and find it wears extremely well!
Ok, I had to come back to this. I’ve been LIVING for how the Hourglass Soft Ambient since I bought it However, I have several friends who keep hyping the Haus Labs. I do want to go get shade matched for that one, and possibly add it to the rotation
Alicia, after watching your reviews I purchased the Lys concealer in TN3 and TG5 and you're right - they are fantastic. Shade match and blendabilty is excellent, they last all day and the finish is very natural. I'm liking them better than Nars. Thank you for such great content, looking forward to your best of 2022! 🙂
The Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm Powder is one of my favorite products of 2022! I usually use it as a primer, even with the light coverage I can’t get a match that would look good enough alone. That being said it is perfect for using with a light coverage foundation or powder foundation!!
I am happy to know I’m ending 2022 with 3 foundations that matches me perfectly: Nars light reflecting, Haus Labs and Pat McGrath. I got to get it together because I waste too much time in the morning deciding which one to use for the day because all are wonderful. I don’t think I need to buy anymore foundation for awhile. NOW… you must do the same comparison vid for setting powders. I tried a few and I think I found the one: NARS light reflecting setting powder but I don’t know….
I wish I had the NARS setting powder! I use Pat’s and I think it’s lovely. And Pat’s foundation is another winner, but I just narrowed it down to the 2022 picks.
Danessa had me in a choke hold this year. Her yummy skin foundation and blurring Balm are so good. I love the formula for Haus Labs but I'm still struggling to find my right shade...same with Nars. Pat McGrath has held me down
Agree about the LYS concealer too, it's just so good, reliable, flexible that it's hard to put down. I did get the new Kulfi concealer in a skin tone shade (the LYS one I have is a slightly brightening shade) and it's a perfect match. Slight dewy finish, just so easy to work with. The two are perfect complements in my collection. 🥰
I have nars and hourglass and I loved them equally. Nars is more bright and looks great on my combo skin. Hourglass it's less bright but still amazing on pictures, I can't choose I love both. I use valencia in nars and 10.5 in hourglass and they are perfect match for me
Because I know EXACTLY what you are talking about when it comes to undertones for us Medium to Medium Deep skin depths, I am looking at Haus Labs now for a better shade match for winter. My go-to Fenty Profilt'r Hydrating Foundation in 260 is just a little too warm, but 270 (which I have contemplated getting to cool off 260) looks quite pink to my eye. Something tells me that I will find my perfect winter shade with Lady Gaga's brand. I hope? Summer is easier for me to find solid matches, though.
@@aliciaarcher this is very good, solid info you've passed down to me, as I am so tired of never finding the correct undertone for the cooler season when I'm not getting any sort of sun exposure. And I'm sure that we have many others within our range who face the exact same issue.
I just bought the Hourglass foundation, and FAM, ITS SO PERFECT. Shade 12 is a perfect match, and evens me out without making my freckles look really dull. I love it
I bought the rose Inc foundation wanting to love it so I wouldn’t have to splurge on Chanel but it didn’t work out. Rose Inc turned kinda gray on me and I tried two shades. I caved and bought Chanel and it’s truly a HG foundation for me. That one, CT’s Beautiful Skin and YSL’s tinted moisturizer are all that’s in my rotation now. I keep trying the yummy skin foundation and it’s fine but I just don’t reach for it much.
Great video! I got a sample of the Hourglass foundation and now I'm rushing to finish some on my other foundations so I can get it. What a nice formula and managed to find a perfect colour match.
I'm really into the Gaga foundation because of the shade match! I got a sample of the Nars and it was....fine. it's so hard to find a foundation these days that's just awful....everything is...fine. 🤣😂
Hahahaha! The same reason why I didn’t rush to buy the Hourglass. I knew it wasn’t going to be a disaster, but I wanted it to blow me away. But at the same time, everything I’ve used was great, so the bar just keeps getting higher and everything ends up as you said…fine 🤣
I'm also a fan of NARS Light Reflecting Foundation (Yukon). Shade match with an array of undertones (including peach), ease of application (I find less is more). I just buy one foundation at a time and use up, but I really like these informative practical vids, and you do them so well, thank you XXX.
Your in depth and informative reviews make my beauty loving heart so happy 😊 😂 I hear you with undertone differences though. Every thing and I mean EVERYTHING, no matter the undertone, turns orange on me! I look like a 39 year old human dorito sometimes 🤭🤣
The NARS is definitely my favorite. I reach for it over everything… more than the Chanel foundation that I ended up buying because it was so hyped up 😭😂
I'm oily and sweaty and my face eats foundation. The DM works great for those issues, but... I am curious about the hourglass. That finish... okay hear me out... terracotta, made in Italy, has a matte but somehow luminous finish. It catches light in a way that looks supple. The shadows add dimension. It's almost like the finish creates that Contour and highlight effect. I want THAT on my face. I will send you pictures of what I mean. 💞 dreamy!
I tried many different foundations this year and Nars is my favourite. After watching your video I became tempted to try hourglass but will be strong and finish the many bottles I have now😂
Happy Thanksgiving Alicia. I have heard a lot of good reviews with the Nars and Hourglass but am reluctant to commit to investing until I can actually test my colour match in person. Sephora is finally in the UK BUT on online. I hope they may open some branches next year and perhaps in Edinburgh, which is not too far from where I live.
My favorite: Marc Jacobs Re(marcable), no longer made 😢😭😩😤. Closest I could find is Dose Of Colors, but still not a perfect dupe. Sad! I have Mama Pat’s coming in the mail for the first time, thanks to the 40% off sale, so excited to try that. I know it’s nowhere near full coverage but still! Love this video, happy Thanksgiving and safe holidays!!❤
Hey Alicia we were a color match for a long time. I found that 10.5 was the better fit. I was actually surprised you were going for 11. I found that to be a deep summer shade for me which was odd because I expected it to be lighter but it was a dead match for my undertones. I wear Pat McGrath 15 for reference .
I was disappointed I couldn't find a match in the NARS foundation. DM balm I like, but I have the universal shade. Would need to try 7 or 8 to determine my shade. I'm applying the Auric foundation today. Haven't worn that in months. My skin goes from combination to dry in the winter months, so hoping the glow helps me out a little. I want to try Haus Labs soon. My perfect match foundation is from Bobby Brown's line.
I have oily skin. The Nars foundation faded almost COMPLETELY on me by the end of the day. Thats an unacceptable defect at the price, and I was super surprised. That hasnt happened to me in years. The Lisa Eldridge foundation wears wayyy better and I dont look crazy shiny through the day with it. Im gonna have to use a primer and a lot of powder to make the Nars one last. Disappointing. I guess you dont have oily skin, or maybe you live somewhere cool/dry. I live in hot, humid weather. Just wanted to warn others with my skin type.
Hi Alicia, and Thank you so much for this video because you just mentioned something that I I couldn't agree with you more! And that is the NARS light reflecting Foundation Girl, about two months ago it might have been 3 months ago I let the managers at my local Sephora as well as the the NARS rep who happen to be there she also used to work over at Alta but anyway I was telling them about how my bottle it's broke it it leaks it barely I can I have to unscrew the cap to try to get out product. Mind you, I have been buying for 4 years, the NARS radiant longwear Foundation and have never once had this type of issue with the pump. The rep proceeds to suggest that I buy a new pump that only cost me $6! What whaaaaaa🤔🤨🤔! Really? I then said excuse me, but I shouldn't have to spend $6 or anything for a new pump I should get that pump for free at the very least! Because that is a $50 bottle of foundation that I bought. I have bought $6 bottles of foundation from wet and wild and I didn't even have that issue 🫣. 🤨. Then I told him to pull up my my order and the rep at Sephora claimed that she could not find my purchase on and their system! What is she talking about I bought that foundation actually I got it with 20% off during the spring time Sephora sale as a rouge member! This is a matter of it being a packaging defect. They should at least at the very least give all of us a $6 a new screw cap or whatever They know. You just lit a fire under me. I'm going to I'm going to screenshot this and shoot this over to Nars Syracuse because and I'm going to tell him to refer to what you just said. Girl this is the only thing I wanted to talk about because I bought my my foundations I think for the year I'm just going to try to finish up some I have some really good ones the Lancome the latest Lancome that's real dewy It's beautiful I got that on sale for $38 couldn't believe it. And of course my Pat McGrath Foundation I misplaced my Armani luminous silk I'm thinking I think I will get it since today is Cyber Monday yeah. Because I changed my mind about getting the YSL hours all hours Foundation It has alcohol in it. I did purchase that Danessa Myrick's What is it foundation bomb that you just talked about. I bought the clear or translucent It is wonderful with my foundations. I think I'm going to get the four cuz I'm tan I have a lot of yellow in my complexion I don't know see there four or five I'm not medium though medium tan I don't know I'll just get one and I'll make it work because that product is everything It's everything it just is! It's sold out on her website though justifiably so! 🙏🤎🧡🍁🤗🎁 Take care. I think everybody sleeps on Tarte Facetape I just started my second about a month ago bottle. And summertime it keeps you looking great for over 12 hours airbrushed look I think it's like third behind yeah it's about third It's it's it's definitely not less than that My third best foundation way it performs and works on my skin In the winter time I I use extra products like hyaluronic acid and Clinique moisture surge to keep the moisture so I can I can use this product in the winter time when it's dryer because it is a matte finish but it's a beautiful I think it's more of a velvet matte, My Charlotte Tilbury Foundation that's a solid foundation for me. I bought it after I was sent a small sample from Nordstrom's gorgeous on me. LYS foundation that's a heck of a $22 foundation product It works like or just as good as those in that 35 to $50 range.
Your shades work perfectly for me and I’m so grateful for your recommendations 😭🥰
